there are a couple of dc powered microwaves, but the magnetrons need ac to work, they are an ac component. i think makita makes one which is expensive and chews up a tool battery per use. the og radar seeking 40mm anti aircraft shells the allies invented in ww2 used a liquid battery which would rupture from the shock of firing, and then powered a magnetron in its nose for a few seconds to proximity detonate dramatically increasing the effectiveness of us naval antiaircraft weapons in ww2. this was demonstrated best during the "Mariana turkey shoot" in the battle of the philipean sea towards the end of ww2. not sure how they got a vacuum tube to survive being fired through a 40mm bofers aa cannon, but a rare example of a magnetron which used a dc power source all the same.

built a dc only version for 65 bucks inside of a mini ammo can. way smaller, maybe 1/3rd the size. 32ah = ~420wh nominal capacity, no inverter. if youre using it for DC things like fridges, that means you get about the same usable capacity since you loose a good amount from the inverter at high and low loads. doesnt make much sense for power stations to have built in inverters. i made my 12v cig port unregulated and fused at 20amps, so it can run a ~500w inverter no problem from the plug, or use one of those 100w usb-c "car charger" cig plugs for more plugs. imo inverters are wear items, if you rely on them, they will always disappoint you. better to have the power station DC only and add what you need through the ports instead of having it all in a bulky final product. for those wondering i used prismatic 32ah lifepo4 cells, direct from the mfg in china. takes 3 months to import them and go thru customs on the slow boat. theyre better tech than all the bottom barrel cylendrical cells power stations use right now, but can cost slightly more since theyre used in EV's for their size efficiency. you usually you have to order at least 12-16x of them due to the way shipping scales. got mine during an "11.11 sale", which is basically the chinease version of black friday. 16 cells were about 130$ after sales/coupons/discounts, or ~8$ each. little bit less once you factor in 5% cash back thru cc and "coins" from the website. if you want to know which website, I cant link it or even mention it in cmts without getting shal d0w b& on yt for like 12 hours. go look at great scotts channel series, he mentions the website in the title of his videos very often. wonder if google has a deal with scamazon to censor this website idk.

You don’t mention the phantom drain, which is a huge factor to me and should to you since capacity is your main focus, I suggest including that in the comparison, also. I feel as if you’re downplaying the life cycle? You say: “ I only take it out weekends and for a home power back up”, it’s still nearly twice the life cycle to 80% capacity twice as many weekends… using it daily or weekends only doesn’t matter. You also downplay the units dimensions, comparatively to the AC200l/AC180.

Probably would do alot better if doors were not open during testing. All the air goes out and constantly kicking on. That's why higher amperage.

I bought this controller because I want to connect a WiFi hot spot to give a WiFi signal to a camera. in the first option I have 13.7, in the second I have set it to 11.3 while it was at 12.6 I thought that if it drops below 12.6 it will stop giving power to the USB port. Now that I have it on 11.3 what will happen eventually is this ok? Thanks.

maybe I miss it in the second part of the video but what is inside of the fridge is almost as important as the temps in any case thanks for the video and sharing it makes clear that the power station is way small for that fridge (again what's inside and what's the use is key) or the fridge is too big for the power station one of the two that's what happens with either cold or hot it takes lotta energy both extremes but with such truck definetly u don't have space issues instead for an ebike with trolley this experiment is highly useful

I bought the AC200L. I also went for the 350W Solar Panel. It's my first purchase of a solar generator, but I wanted something to be enought to power my dayjob - digital nomad. I hope I didn't make a bad choice. I just know there's gonna be a shoulda waited felling and something better, but for now, I think it's a good bang for the buck. I appreciate the high solar input watts and the expandablility aspect. It will definitely improve my off grid experiences. Should I have gotten the Elite 200 V2 instead? argh... heh.
