I went to Mad Monk in Modesto for the first time recently, and my god, I can honestly say that I can spend hours just looking at this store for movies to buy. I’ll say it but I now prefer this store a million times more than FYE.

SHOCKING DVD continue to outsold bluray and 4k! I don't think bluray will outsold dvd because dvd been around longer and cheaper plus newer Panasonic ub420 or higher End can upscale dvd to 4k which gives them new life

I would add the revenant to this as well only because the blu ray already looks so good and the upgrade is minimal from what I’ve seen

Mystic River is one of my favorite movies. You’ll love it but it is incredibly dark. Red Dragon also another banger which I would say is equally as good as silence of the lambs. Edward Norton was fantastic.

❤"A time to kill " is Really , really good! TOP movie

Neverending Story, is a great movie. Saw it in the theater back in the day. It's geared towards tweens or young teens. However, its still a fantastic watch. I might be a bit biased due to nostalgia, however. Forgotten, is fantastic too. Get ready for an abrupt right turn into sci fi world. Be warned. What Dreams May Come, is another great movie. Definitely a good movie to watch with the wife. At times its a real tear jerker. Great ending. Red Dragon, all the Hannibal Lector films scare me to no end. Typical horror movies I kind of laugh at. These movies scare the pants off me. Hannibal is such an evil character. Another need to watch movie. Spy Game, Saw this one in the theaters too. I enjoyed it very much. The tech being showcased might be dated now. I hope you do follow up on what you thought of each movie. Great video!

People that complain and talk down on DVD quality are either morons, or elitist losers. There are tens of thousands of DVD releases that do not have Bluray or streaming releases. Lots of Bluray discs that were reprints of prior DVDs before BD came out can actually be WORSE quality video transfers, and often also missing features, aspect ratio options, and sound options. The DVD that came out within the era of when the movie was released sometimes is the much more desirable version. Blurays are great, when the movie is mastered or remastered properly for it, and the image bump is of course excellent in those cases. But BD is not a 'REPLACEMENT' for DVD's or DVD collecting. People need to stop getting so hung up on which of the 7 versions of the same movie rereleased from different studios is the king of all the disc options to own and just enjoy the films itself. Collecting DVD/BD/UHD isn't all about quality, let's not loose touch with the point of preserving and enjoying the media production itself and the stories being told onscreen.

I disagree. Physical disc players are on the way out, even if you can find them used, it might not be too far off before they just quit making discs period and they all become limited editions at high prices, sort of like vinyl. I like Apple for movies. Quality is good enough and I haven't lost anything I bought directly from them.

I'm very pro physical media, most physical media needs to stay. To be honest it sickens me that places like Best Buy, and Target don't have any, whats next no more books in a damn library? Talk about Bullshit!

Mortal engines and deep water horizon are good movies with great atmos. I enjoy Mortal Engines more than most people do. I think all John Wick movies sound good. The Batman is a darker looking movie but with a good tv it can look good. Ambulance is a good action movie and I enjoyed it

I thought the 4K 300 was incredible!

Awful remote -- it is the same design as cheaper , entry level Panasonics. Awful. Plastic. Worse of all , the layout is non intuitive -- the location of the "Netflix" button is hit all the time accidentally -- this remote can not be operated without lights on in the viewing room (forget bedroom use) or user (if they require) putting on their glasses. Such a shame, for the "flag-ship -- its just poor and really sucks as the remote is how the machine is operated -- it is the users interface and eveythime you pick it up or press a button you feel cheap and cheated.

i find used cds on average for 4.99-7.99 for good albums. i have a huge vinyl collection but for the price of one record lets say the new 45 dollar Nirvana In utero album i can get the intire dicography on cd, or damn near the whole thing. ill add storage is cheap now, i import my cds into itunes Lossless and sounds amazing on mp3 players. lastly the phone is a shit way to "listen" to music, push notifications going off all the time, and spam calls and texts pull you right out of the vibe. good video

I've been building up my DVD and Blu-ray Library again for over a year, recently branching out into building up my CD library

When i first saw this movie's trailer, i been intrigued by the concept, and halle berry acting was spectacular even in a horror film, and so decided to maybe see it when it comes out in theaters...

The specials editions on DVD are on top! Only the steelbooks on Blu-ray are better. But I am falling in love again with the DVDs. Even buying movies that I sold time ago😅

Graded media seems weird, tho... because you can't use it. It's an art that can't be appreciated. Graded cards make way more sense.
