I believe the color of the price tags indicate how long it's been on the shelf. After so long if a film doesn't sell they know how long it's been on the shelf by the tag color. Eventually it will go to the bargain bins.

Didn't think about this! I was removing clutter and donated all my DVD's to the library. I just don't want to watch the same movie again, what's the point? At least for me it doesn't matter, because I don't watch the same stuff again. Music, on the other hand, I do collect vinyls.

I have an 8 year old Panasonic Blu Ray player and an 8 year old Samsung 4K player. I have used both continuously for 8 years with no problems. I have occasionally considered. I can’t understand why all these new players have so many problems!

Thanks for the video and review. I bought one and liked it so much that I bought a second to use with another TV. I had to return 2 to get 2 that work well. I stream RUclips with the optical output to my 2 channel stereo system watching concert videos and it sounds great and looks good depending on the video quality. They play 4K and BluRay discs with no issues.

I have a Sony X700 multi region player ...and so far no problems ...it has two HDMI ports for sound and vision and a coax port ..and also plays SACD discs....and it doesn't make that roaring sound when playing discs..

i use spotify premium, and i'll continue to do so since it'd cost me thousands in shipping to get every CD i have saved. however, i would like to start collecting CDs of my favourites of each artist - do you still think it's worth to start a collection? probably just a small one.

I don"t have the space to to build the kind of set up to make 4k worth it. Happy with how my blu rays look on my current TV. I could see the benefit if someone can put the set up together.

I am done with streaming, endless price increases and films being removed and moved to other services. Like I wanted to watch Jurassic Park, it became a witch hunt finding the service that had it, I dug up my blu ray and a player and we were off to the movie with that. Done. I am going to pick up used blu rays and pick up some 4K discs for the faves. Have a great day!!!!

I 100% agree! I love physical media. As a generation X'er born in 1975, I truly appreciate physical movie media and see through all the fake hype of streaming and online media. Here in SATX, in the the 210, we have a chain of five movie/dvd/CD exchange stores that have been thriving since the early 90's, even long after Suncoast went out of business! I am a physical media nerd and proud of it! It's so much fun! And, even my 11 year old daughter is getting into it too! Let's do everything we can tp keep physical media alive!

A few months late, but if you hold down the HDR button for a few more seconds, it will also take you to this menu. At least thats what it does on my UB420, which is the same player without Dolby Vision.

Theres another video that I saw that showed that this is not needed if the blue ray is HDR 10+.

I've been collecting blu ray discs for about three years of works that I want to have "forever." None of them opened, I don't have a blu-ray player yet. Completely skipped dvd's as I was bootlegging everything from 1997-2011. Should I just get one super quality external blu-ray drive and back up to home network?

I own many movies , cds and vinyl you can't find on streaming services. I don't own many of the most popular movies, or music so if any are found on streaming its a needle in a haystack. A few movies from the 80s have never had official releases on DVD so finding those on streaming is non existent. CDs from indie or artists who didn't make a worldwide splash also can not be found on Amazon, Spotify, Apple etc. This is why owning physical media makes sense to me.

I think the horror genre is really only meant to be watched in VHS quality to really get that level of immersion on the exception of a few other genres like maybe Star Wars (Anything 80's really). The horror VHS tapes are going for astronomical amounts of money. I'm thankful to have gotten Return of the Living Dead '84 at a decent price before the price hike.

I have 4708 CDs all in my computer and had a GREAT time going to garage sales and ripping them into my computer. I have them all on selves and are stored as they are on my computer. So they are easy to find.

Most of them are not worth it because they're just upscales.

Hello everyone! I have a LG oled B7, I know it is old technology and I’m hoping to change it this next year. But I have some problems with dolby vision content on it. When playing 4k blu rays on my panasonic ub820 some of them especially warner discs and paramount have a strange issue. When watching the movie if I pop up the menu of the disc the image gets brighter and then when I exit the menu it gets back to the original brightness. The real problem, however , is when the movie starts with that brightness and then I pop up the menu, exit it and the brightness gets down. So if I don’t pop up the menu I never know if the movie is with the correct brightness or not. This doesn t happen with hdr blu rays, only DV Does someone experience the same problem?

i just bought upscaling dvd player that upscales to hd 1080p improves the picture quality so much on modern tvs for £25 new. the local thrift shop sells 5 dvds for £1 so its a win win top video thx

TV's more of the problem i know everything some TV's put more greater quality in your vhs tapes and some other TVs taking quality out of your vhs tapes that is the truth
