    In 2024 people are still modeling the rails wrong. If you're actually gonna model something you should have more than one reference image. Cause some of the objects you make are solid when they are hollow like the rear sight and other parts. your music is extremely annoying. Thank God for the mute button. thumbs down.

    • @BlenderSolo
      @BlenderSolo Месяц назад

      Fair enough, thanks for the feedback. Sorry for your bad experience. About the blueprints and references, you are absolutely right. But if you look at my latest videos, you can see that I do use more references. So yeah I’m learning from my mistakes. And about the music, yeah, I got rid of it, it started to annoy me as well. Anyways, thanks!☺️ PS: how should I make the rail?

    As I am mostly a material artist, it blesses my heart to see that someone is able to keep their node compositions so clean and simple! It’s great cus it optimizes efficiency and is easier to work with in a pipeline if it were to be used. Just one quit tip, the metallic value should always either be at 0 or at 1 to avoid lighting errors and other weird things that cat happen at in-between values. Over all looks great tho!

    • @BlenderSolo

      Hey, yeah it’s an old video, the fix is to add more density in the curved, just add a lot more extrusions when making the curve

    • @BlenderSolo
      @BlenderSolo Месяц назад

      It depends on the intentions. If you are making a commercial project you probably want a better topo. Or if you are making an organic object with subdivision you also want good topo. But if you are making a game asset or a simple model like this, you don’t REALLY need a perfect topo. Tho it’s not bad to have a good topology.

      It all comes down to the time that you spent on doing it and dedication. If you look back at my older models you can see that they look kinda… ugly? So to summarise, you have to be dedicated and spend your free time on modelling and experimenting😊

    Why do you use so many seemingly unnecessary topology, is there a reason, because it seems very inefficient, for just a pixel more of smoothness, but much more resource intensive

    All of your models look really nice and I was wondering how you basically go of making these models. Usually when I try, It always ends up too messy and things clip into each other when I try my best to keep it simple. I've considered just modeling it piece by piece and just slapping it all together but now I'm just overthinking it. Do you have any tips I could use (as a sorta beginner) to improve my skills to make really nice looking models like yours?

    • @jail.house.rock.
      @jail.house.rock. 3 месяца назад

      That's called topology, if you want my advice, you start of with a single mesh (normally a cube or cylinder) and you slowly work you way from there extruding and using loop cuts, don't just put a bunch of different meshes together unless you need/want to. try not to use advanced modifiers a lot like subdivision modifiers as those might make things "messy and clip into each other", if you do bevel try to do it with as little segments as possible, this will decrease chances of things becoming messy and reduce the triangle count. Hope that helps

    • @BlenderSolo
      @BlenderSolo 3 месяца назад

      Hey, as the other guy said it’s the topology. But I kinda lack the skill of topo so most of the time my topology is crap and everything. But about a lot of meshes, it comes down to experience. I also used to model using only reshaped cubes. It’s important to understand how blender works so I suggest just doing blender for as long as possible and you will get used to it.
