4 month review on the Borla The Borla sounds great, no drone in cab and sounds aggressive when going WOT. No raspy notes and definitely would recommend for a daily driver. If you’re looking for something aggressive and rowdy this wouldn’t be a good choice. I would say this is a great muffler for a daily driver or tow pig.

I still have the Amazon one installed and haven’t had any issues but just food for thought

    • @OronasGarage
      @OronasGarage 7 месяцев назад

      Here is the part number. Flowtech: 31142FLT Fitment is great, this part number is actually for the 03-07 2500HD so it does not have port for the egr. I deleted my egr to run these headers. You might also have some clearance issues with the spark plug wires which is an easy fix. You can get wire insulators or change over to a different wire.

    Whats the whole exhaust setup you got goin on if you don’t mind, got a 6.0 and wanted to upgrade my exhaust this summer. Also, do you recommend doing true duals considering it is an X-pipe?

    • @OronasGarage
      @OronasGarage 7 месяцев назад

      I have Flowtech shorty headers and 2.5” piping (no cats) into the x-pipe then into resonators out into a dual 2.5” inlet single 3” outlet. I would say the xpipe wasn’t necessary. I only tried it because I could never find any good videos on different exhaust set ups for the truck or body style. I think now that I’ve had it, I would probably do the 2.5” piping without the x-pipe and just have the resonators into the muffler.

    Wish I could help you out with the tire information. Even though trying something else is appealing, at approximately $2000 for a set I might just buy the same. You got the looks and they're proven. I found your channel because I have an 01 8.1 2500 and I was looking for exhaust stuff. Subscribed because of that wheel tire combo and those shocks. Speaking of which, is the offset a -12? What part or model number are those kings? Your truck is just clean and I love it.

      Tires are definitely expensive, and that’s why I’m curious as to what’s worked for other people. Mic sounds great! Talked to a guy getting his tires rotated at Discount Tires the other day. He told me he has tried them all. He loves the Micky Thompson Baja AT and MT. Runs them on his and wife's truck.He said you can get them through Discount Tire. About same price as anywhere. I like putting tires on my Discount tire card and pay them out interest free. I am looking at the Micky Thomson and Nitto Ridge grabblers. You got me thinking about the Toyo's now 65K is impressive for that MT..

    • @OronasGarage
      @OronasGarage 8 месяцев назад

      Thanks! I didn’t even think about those! I was thinking about BFG KM3’s but they’re pricy. One thing I would say I didn’t like about the MT is that in doesn’t do so great in the rain. I’ve had the AT2 before and I loved that tire. I know a few people with the Ridge Grapplers and they seem to like them but they said that in the rain that the tires don’t do so great either. One thing that has helped these tires last is that I try to stay on top of the tire rotation and the tire pressures. I usually run my fronts around 42-45psj and the rears are at 48-52 psi. If I tow, then I air up depending on how heavy the load, but to be fair, I haven’t towed in about a year and a half.
