Gurdjieff - The Influence of a Master
This is Part 2 of a trilogy of films made about George Gurdjieff under the title of The Seekers of Truth, featuring Madame de Salzmann and others who knew Gurdjieff personally and received his teaching directly from him.
They provide a first-hand account of what it was like to live in the presence of a Master and how one can put his teaching into practice at any moment in our daily lives.
It is suggested that Part 1 is watched first: "Gurdjieff in Armenia."
The 3rd part contains people who are still alive who are striving to put G's teaching into practice and would need their consent to be published. The main parts are 1 and 2.

I started questioning my existence at the age of 7, and as a child of a Muslim family at a young age, my first stop was the Quran. Then this wasn't enough for me. At the age of 13, I decided that this was not enough and continued to search in bitter anguish. I met Osho when I was 16, and at 18 I experienced kundalini in nature for the first time. I had an extraordinary experience that I didn't believe it, things were getting deeper and I was starting to get scared but I only felt good emotions and Love, my mind was still scared, then I needed someone like me or a servant, The only thing I was passionate about in life was my desire to search, there is no one like me around me, I wish there was one in the world. It is good to know that there are people like me, we will not turn back from our path. Now I am 19 years old and sometimes I progress and sometimes I take a break. I could not focus on university because of reading spiritual books. Now I decided not to study at university. I will work and gain financial freedom with savings at an early age and continue reading the books of masters about my only passion, the search.

45:35 Here's where Salzmann's direction of the Gurdjieff work fails. She right in what she is saying . . . but wrong in how she is saying it. There's no "energy" in the Gurdjieff teaching (asssuming the translation is correct). So by using that phrase she is disconnecting the various pieces of the teaching, _all_ of which together are necessary to understand what's going on. Here, she should stick with the terminology of "higher bodies" or "higher centres" to explain what unifying factor is missing . . .

Yes .... but it didn't work. Did it? Am I missing something. For instance his insistence of always changing everything. It's too much. He could have made his students make products to sell, rather than always being desperate for money. It was too much. He needed more structure. And with Ouspensky, they should have found the answer. I am not interested in continuing to fail. Even if everybody on this planet dies in front of me, still I must find the answer.

Given that *No-one(including those that met the man)*”knew” Mr.Gurdjieff On the basis of what direct immediate personal experience do you , [that have never met anyone that had met anyone that had ever met Giorgivanic] (for whatever queer reason) suggest that Giorgivanic was (whatever you mean by) the " greatest" anything? Do you see that it is people like you that not only never met Mr. Gurdjief, but also have never met anyone who had met anyone that*had* met Giorgivanic, that threaten to turn what are called " the ideas" into just another fcuking religion? Giorgivanic was - it seems, the source of a tradition which is not only about to die out like christianity, but must also necessarily die out with the death of the last pupil of a pupil of Giorgivanic himself. First you read the entire series of books comprising All and Everything" and then and *Only_then* start expressing purely subjective and relative opinions, about a man about whom you can only possibly *Guess*. It *may* be that those who are in a better position than you to express any opinion about the man, have come to have had experiences vaguely approximating impartial love for a man that they never met, would say that you read each and every book in the series, and then and*Only_then* express purely subjective and relative opinions of a man you not only neve met, but also have not taken the trouble to read the books which seemingly it took his last reserves of energy to write the required three times, which has taken the writer(who has indeed met someone-in fact more than one that actually met Giorgivanic) - which signifies nothing very much and is no more than accidental) nearly all of seventy years. Told bollox osuch as "the greatest and mystic Man of the century, " Giorgivanic would - the writer would venture to suposse, would have roared with laughter and said something that your *actual master*-one or another of the functions would not have liked one little bit. You read beelzebub ey al. the required three times and then and*Only* then, start bleating a man you never met, but *Can* meet by reading the books on which he pinned all his hopes. Tlk is cheap, and the *only* word the writer can find that could apply to Beelzebub is *magic*, but it takes a lot more than a bit of magic before you can say that you have begun to be able to begin to become *yourself*(whatever the fcuk that means) whereupon god and the devil don't matter. Notwithstanding the above drivel, the ideas areabout as much use a a chocolate teapot to one that has no *Aim and the truth f the matter is that you*Have* no aim or certainly no aim that is our god and search though you may for your aim, as Mrs. Stavely woul puy it" you will not find your aim by using the heas -or asone xhap might have put it, man does not live by head alone. "Mystic master" my arse! Exactly *How_many* "masters" of *any* kind have you met? Yeah, right. When an *Only when you have read Beelzebub at the very *least* ten times, can you start more of your endless about_ing on the matter of Giorgivanic. Do yourself a huge favour and forget *all_about* the ideas of Giorgivanic, because they will only engender the reaction*dislike in your boss or master, and and they have broke bigger and better hearts than yours, because they touch upon that which your boss or master(and which of the functions is that?) simply *cannot* abide, and what do you suppose *that* is You have not read Beelzebub *Once*, have you? It is clearly intended to be a asoet id shibboleth or test, but it is not asif there is a boy scouts' have-read-Beelzebub badge. In her book " memoires of Gurdjieff Mrs. Staveley speaks of a group of being of the passive sex reading Beelzebub during the war when the air-raid sirens went off, and she and another woman suggested that they all move to the basement, whereupon a young woman to whom my heart goes out, said:"But surely nothing bad can happen to us while we are reading Beelzebub." In her book S says that she related that to Giorgivanic who roared with laughter and said: " Very great superstition..... ... But perfectly true" "Ekh, Brother! Here on the Earth if you speak the truth you’re a great fool, whereas if you wriggle with your soul you are only a “scoundrel,” although also a big one. So it is best of all to do nothing, but just recline on your divan and learn to sing like the sparrow that had not yet turned into an American canary." Which are you? Fool or scoundrel? the writer has already reserved scoundrel to himself, leaving...? Is or are there any surviving remnants of the traditon started by Giorgivanic? No, but (and beware this) there are plenty that*claim* to be just that are not the monkey business or frauds and charlatans. The question is who is dipping his bread in the Gurdjieff gravy and to feed what? When one poor dolt was asked why he was as -is-said" in.... the.. work", he relied : "Old man river - tired of livin and scared of dying", the which demonstrated that he was a complete dolt because it is asinine to suppose that what-is-*called*" the work" addresses neither of those matters.. To be blunt, when it comes to the ideas of Giorgivanic, *Either*you read Beelzebub the required three times, *Or* you shut...... the.... fcuk... up, but to thr dvil with that, foget all about it unless and until you ind(having searched for a long time.... .... your ....... *Aim*.. Other than with the head. As far as *aim*goes, it may or may not be there hiding longingly, or like sleeping beauty, awaiting your kiss.. It may be found, but*Only* in perfect wordles silence Will there come a time when you canset out your aim *In_words*, and wilthat do you the least good?...... ...... ..... No. Any fool can spend a lifetime searching for a dimamon question, but not any fool can*Remain* silent and attentive with that hydrogen interest In_front of such a diamond question(and what kind of pretentious bullshit is*that*?) without turning it into the corpse of a question or an answer that boils down to I-know-*Aaaall*- about that? The trouble with all that bullshit about " masters" is that it is like Welsh mountain sheep - underneath all that wool is nothing but skin and bones. The day that you can*formulate* your aim is like the treasure buried in the ground on an island that- any fool- can-find in an ocean that any fool can find as to which I can tell you if.. you.. wish, or are stupefied enough to ask. " Master", my Arse! The idea that the dreaming machine that is the writer*understands* *Anything* very much is absurd but the tiny amount tat he -perhaps , understands, he could not even have*begun* to have understood without the ideas of Giorgivanic. There is as-much-as-you-please of words-about -words on the subject of the ideas of Giorgivanic, and books and books and even books*about* books about them, but.. -*-perhaps, you will-** by chance, bump into something in relation to them that can scratch where you itch, but all that bulshit about"masters" will scratch no itches and feed *Nothing* Don't *talk*.... *Read* Beelzebub.
