I love Marilyn Manson even up to this day (yes even his recent stuff is fire). I first heard him when I was 8 years old, I saw him live when I was 19 and have followed him ever since (I'm now mid 40's). Most people thought he promoted everything evil and he kinda went with it, but if you really listen to the lyrics are almost always anti drug, anti s***ide etc. Thank you for reacting to him!

They were very much about the awareness of police violence against people of colour. The lead singer was in one of the harder hit regions of the LA riots and he wrote a lot about human rights and the abuse of that on the people of America by their government at the time, way back in '91. I didn't realise Maynard was in this! Awesome!

Love these guys. Have seen them live in Australia twice. I loved his voice back when this came out and I love it still. Some old bangers from this band are Praise, Shine, Denial, Live again and Beautiful.

I swear this album got played so much by me when it came out. This was another one I could relate to indirectly as I had a friend who was being abused by their stepfather. It reflected a lot of the frustration I felt back then. Thanks for trying again with reacting to Pearl Jam :)

Oh my, I played this at full volume for so long that my neighbours sang it back to me, lol! While the rest of the world went crazy over other songs from that album I thought this one was my favourite at the time. As an adult I can't handle the last half of the song - too emo :) Thanks for reacting to it, even though you didn't like it. I guess we are both now the rest of the world hehe.

A really awesome thing that Trent did with this song is he released it free license as him just singing and created a competition to create the beats for it. He then supported the ones he thought were the best by promoting them on the albums website. Some really awesome versions got released. What you're hearing is from an album that wasn't received very well. I also recommend you go back to his older stuff - Terrible Lie, March of the Pigs, Closer, Hurt. And yes NiN is AWESOME live.

This is widely considered to be one of the most complicated drum compositions ever recorded, and this MV is the man who wrote it. Also Danny Carey is 6'4" and had signed with Boston as a basketball player when he was faced with a decision: Basketball or Drums. I think we got very lucky! But this is why he always wears that outfit at concerts :)

Today's "recording engineers" wouldn't have a clue how to do any of the near magic that the best engineers could perform back in those days of limited technology...the recording industry of today stands on those giant's shoulders.

Failure performed the original on their album Fantastic Planet. You should check that version out when you have a chance. It's got an atmosphere. That whole album is worth a listen straight through.
