Primus are like a craft beer. The first few times it's fucking weird and uncomfortable, but it grows on you. Then all of a sudden you're the microbrew guy. Primus is microbrew music
You do t have to love the style, but you have to give respect to the absolute BOMB TALENT on bass, guitar and drums. How these three found each other is a miracle.
watch Laquer Head video. crazy shit. Les does a lot of claymation art in the videos also. he owns a winery, he’s been in other bands besides Primus, and he made a solo record “ HIGHBALL WITH THE DEVIL” where he played all the instruments. weird as fuck is right, but completely original
Primus is (aside from the Antipop album) just too weird for me. Kinda like Zappa, can't deny the high level of musicianship but as music to listen to? No...just no😂

" Craft beer sucks!"😉
Laquerhead. Official music video. Or Those Damned Blue Collar Tweakers from Woodstock ‘94 - live performance

Find any bass player and ask them to play a Les Claypool riff.
I'm so happy you were able to break through the weirdness and appreciate it for what it is 😊.
Also what a perfect and genuine reaction. *what the fuck are we watchin?*

Watch Shake Hands with Beef next.
Never listened to Primus. I'm with you. Weird as hell. The styling was similar to Frank Zappa.
You cough, you're off!
Somethin'
