Tiger you say it was overused as a chorus well maybe they wanted that effect , to place emphasis on the ferociousness of the Tiger and not much lyrics like you said again to place emphasis on the Tiger.

I agree, although Good As New was #1 in Belgium and Mexico. Angel Eyes was a double A side with Voulez Vous. My opinion only, this is the best album every song is good along with Summer Night City-Gimme Gimme Gimme Gimme songs written during the Voulez Vous sessions producing 7 #1s Summer night city Voulez Vous I have a dream Chiquitita Does your mother know As good as new Gimme Gimme Gimme. Angel eyes #3 in U.K

interesting.... because for long timer like me, everything after Neb is pretty much crap. Half of BITUSA is good. While there are old songs on LTY the arrangement and performance are unlistenable. And when he tried to update/redo some old songs on Tracks, he made them worse than what you can find on the studio take boots and should have left them as is.

When this album appeared in 1981, the last 4 songs were not on it. They were intended for another album. But it never came out, as the band members went on a long vacation and pursued solo careers. The last 4 songs were added 10-15 years later, so people know them less well. And before that, these 4 songs and several more were collected in the pirated album "OPUS 10".

Interesting ranking. Bruce Springsteen's top 6 albums for me are the ones I like to listen to the most: 1. Born to Run Meeting Across the River into Jungleland like a mini cinematic movie, Born to Run and Backstreets the last two tracks remind me so much of the last scene in Mean Streets from 1973 such an immaculate cinemographic album in production, execution and lyrics. Darkness on the Edge of Town Favorites Racing in the Street meditative, dreamy and melancholic but also realistic, great organ accompaniment and haunting echoey vocals, the soulful but controlled delivery and directness of the lyrics makes it hit even harder, also Candy's Room, Badlands, Prove it All Night great solo guitar licks from Bruce in this album 3. The Wild, the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle Sandy 4th of July song, E Street Shuffle, New York City Serenade and Rosalita is good too 4. The River Stolen Car- Springsteen is great at writing songs about cars as a way to escape since Racing in the Street and Stolen Car are two of my favorites, also the River on this album 5. Tunnel of Love if the whole albums was like Brilliant Disguise and Tunnel of Love it would be higher really different and unique sound here great eighties production 6. Nice Video, However Johnny 99 is the best in the Nebraska album and western stars deserves top 5 as it is an incredible masterpiece in my opinion.

ABBA & Boney M were probably the biggest bands of the 70's throughout Europe & The UK, I love them both but I won't lie, I found this album to be dissappointing. Other than Rivers Of Babylon, Rasutin, & a great cover of "Heart Of Gold" I thought all the other songs were very mediocre, almost like fillers.

The sequencing of songs on an album used to be much more important. Back in the days of vinyl, you went into the record store and the listening booth, put on the album and skipped through it. The weakest tracks were typically hid towards the end of each side. And the opening track on each side had to pop. In the post-album era we now live in, it’s a different story.

The point you make about ABBA’s English lyrics is important: Swedes are typically known to be very good at English - most are more or less fluent. But it is a relatively new phenomenon, based entirely on the invasion of English-language tv, movies and music. Swedes of ABBA’s generation are generally not as fluent in English as their kids are. Meaning a lot of effort went into not just writing those lyrics, but into trying to hide as much of the Swedish accent as possible. It’s an additional dimension to the improbable feat they accomplished.

ABBA is such a great ROCK band. Yes I said. They are first and foremost a rock band.

This song changed my perception of America and all the forgotten men, all the things that made this country. I grew up loving those things and as I get older social media drives me away from that. One day I heard this song in a radio on Spotify and my mind was blown. I feel music is gonna change soon and focus on real life and the basic important things everyone forgets about. And I also wanna say my favorite part is also when Nelson says “he ain’t my friend” it hits hard because a lot of time you can get lost thinking someone is looking out for you when they really aren’t.

I got this album and Sweet’s Off the record album in christmas present in 1977. I was 11 years old and those 2 albums were pure magic. I still got those 2 records in my collection and in my heart. ❤️🙏👌
