Welcome to the Rodeo | Our Atlantic Crossing Part 2
Do you remember the movie The Perfect Storm? 🌊Waves crashing, wind gailing, and ⛈️incessant rain.
No one could have prepared us for the adventure we had in store 🛟
High highs and some slightly lower lows. It was absolutely mind blowing being in such a vast ocean with absolutely nothing around us, not even the 18 boats we started the rally with 😲 Just the 5 people on a 54ft boat in thousands of feet of water bobbing in the ocean.
What could possibly happen? 😬
Ok, maybe it was more like the beginning of the movie…

Looking great there guys, I loved the sporty sailing part that's the stuff I used to enjoy down here 🇳🇿, happy cruising into Bermuda 👍🇳🇿
How’s a guy find an opportunity to stay on a sailboat for awhile
Just have to go for it! Make a plan and Jump
How many crew are on board?
There are 5 of us.
I love the new intro saying your Names! Well done guys!
Thanks you!
13:14 was that pillow talk between Captain and first mate?Happy New Year!
Yes, 100% !
What about the moratorium on whale-killing.?
They have approval from the IWC to take 4 whales a year under traditional hunting methods, and they are not allowed to take females or calves. Talking with the locals, they usually only take 1 or 2, which gives enough meat for the entire island. They process and use the entire animal, bones and all, which stay on the island.
I'm not sure but I think I I'll be visiting the Caribbean with my sailboat over the 2025/2026 winter season.
Maybe we'll see you in an anchorage sometime 🤙
So glad she had her floatation devices on 😅smoke show! Great videos!
Thanks, we are always thinking about safety!
I love clamato red bear! Is that Canadian?
Yes it is a Canadian thing 😉We call them clam pints
Hows joshs shoulder?
I'm on the edge of my ... Couch 😢.. rooting for y'all! I'm so excited too!
Hang in there, the adventure is just getting started!
How's the shoulder doing?
They are coming along. Not 100% yet but getting better.
Hi, thanks for nice videos...I'd like to ask what app you use to create such a nice map/travel animations?
Thank you! We use and app called TravelBoast. It super easy to use and a lot of fun.
I'm Brazilian, I don't speak English very well, but thanks to RUclips's automatic dubbing, I found this channel and can start following you.
Welcome Josias! So glad you found us and are now apart of our journey!
Most Replayed Section…… False Alarm 🤣
Great video!
Thanks guys! New subscriber here!
Welcome Walt so glade your along for the adventure!
Ken's blue berry pancakes. Some of the best breakfasts we have had cruising were on Bistari.
Sadly we never got to experience those. Maybe next time.
The best of luck to you guys. what an experience.Enjoy. Can't wait to see what you bring back from your adventures!
What a way to start, some out there seem to be getting pretty close to each other, but what a beautiful boat you two are on 👍👍🇳🇿
It was an amazing start. Scared the crap out of us, so much adrenaline! That one boat almost hit the ARC rally start boat. They got in a bit of trouble for that.
Enjoy!!
Barbuda
Were is burbuda? Looks great!😅
Just north of Antigua. Tiny island and oh so amazing!
Isn't whaling illegal?
Not in Bequia. They have approval from the IWC to take 4 whales a year under traditional hunting methods and they are not aloud to take females or calves. Talking with the locals they usually only take 1 or 2, that gives enough meat for the entire island. They process and use the entire animal, bones and all on the island.
Im in sunny chico, CA watching your journey as of late, new subscriber. Very jealous!
Thanks for joining our journey. We're so happy to have you along for the adventure.
It looks like you prepared the boat well for your absence. Now, it is time to have some fun and start the adventure. I can imagine that your first crossing will be a real adventure. Good luck, fair winds. I'm looking forward to your vlogs along the way. WOOHOO.
Thank you. We are super excited and very nervous at the same time. But we are traveling with very experienced sailors, so that helps the nerves a bit. ⛵️🤘
Well that was an interesting video with everything you needed to do before leaving your boat/ home for a while, I see someone has already mentioned it but I can also verify that Damp Rid really does work, I have used it here in NZ to solve a problem. Wishing you well for your new experience of open ocean sailing and looking forward to seeing what you get up to ❤😋😋👍🇳🇿
Thank you
those damp rid jars will ge totally full of water when you get back. They work really well.
Have you been to Portugal? We've been twice and loved it there! .....Jealous!! enjoy!!
First time! And my (Josh) first time to Europe and were going by boat. So cool🤙
Awesome pace..very relaxing to jog to on the treadmill 😊

OMG best yet 😅
Is it an issue getting a fishing permit for every area or is there a maritime rule where its not needed?
@jeffgillis7512 personal fishing permits are not required in the ocean. If you go into a special marine park or within 3nm of certain countries, fishing is not allowed for the most part.
Dose having a thumbnail picture with your wifes side boob help get views ?. If your going to go that fae just get them out on OF you'll make more moneh 😂😂
Welcome 🤗 to my island 🏝️ brother.. wish I could have met y'all in person
We are a family of 5 on a classic 38ft sailboat fulltime for the past 3 years. Thousands of miles and multiple countries later we are still at it. We are currently in Guatemala and hauled out for maintence. We are debating if we are heading to Panama or make our way back to the US to get a larger boat. We currently have a friend tempting us to come down to the eastern Caribbean, seeing your video makes another cruising season on this boat tempting. Our family absolutely loves this nomadic lifestyle. We are weighing pros and cons of the above mentioned options and doing our research to see which direction our family will move next. Our family absolutely loves this nomadic lifestyle.
What an amazing adventure you all are on as well. We can't wait to make it over that way. If you are considering the Caribbean, we would highly recommend it. We absolutely love being here, and every time we check back into a country, we discover something new about it. There is so much to explore and see.
@ we sailed to Luperon, DR through the Bahamas last year, but needed to head back to the US unfortunately, and work and revamping the cruising kiddy. Would absolutely love to get to Puerto Rico, and do the island hopping. Perhaps after we hit the San Blas islands 🙏❤️⛵️
FIrst time viewer here. If Imay offer some constructive criticism. You may wish to consider filming an introduction of who you are and what you're doing. From this viewers perspective, I watched a 20 minute video and I only heard Josh's name once and I don't know the females name.
Thanks for the feedback. We definitely need to address that. Cheers
Names? For her? @@sailinghonutime
How's Josh's shoulder?
For the love of god show more cleavage. Please and thank you.
🇹🇷🇹🇷👍👍
Another great journey guys, some of scenery of the Islands you past is just beautiful and you only get those views from looking in from the ocean or the drone of course. Obviously some great cruising around the whole Caribbean as you've shown in earlier videos but having to be aware of the Hurricane season and making sure you are somewhere safe, looking at what the Hurricane that went through recently certainly reeked havoc the way it turned back on itself but of course I don't know where you are in real time relative to what I saw on the news here in NZ, looking forward to your next adventure 👍👍🇳🇿
Thanks John. Yes we are at the mercy of the weather gods and the hurricane definitely control our cruising season. Luckly we have been able to visit these countries a couple of times because you couldn't see it all in one season.
Im there in spirit.
I've watched you guys for a couple of years. Josh, now that was an incredible thumbnail photo! Cleavage facing cleavage (LOL). Tamara, it was a beautiful pose. Keep having fun, guys. I must have missed something. Where are you headed on the big crossing?
We have been invited to go across to Portugal on a friend boat.
Well I guess you can cross the whale buffet off the list ,,,,me , I’m thinking a pig snout sandwich right about never. Thanks for the laugh ,,,,the next time someone asks you if you want to try some animal parts ,,,the French are good at this stuff,,,it’s a delicacy,,,remember the “ French whale “ !
Always an adventure out here!
Oh the Pitons………was thinking……….
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Without a doubt, Noforeignland is awesome! Barbuda looks incredible. We are in Trinidad this winter and will venture North. Maybe Barbuda! Ya never know 😉
What happen to your dogs
The Mom (silver lab) she passed away. Old age about a year before we bought the boat. The younger one (chocolate lab) is living happily on our neices farm playing with chicken and sleeping by a fire place. She was never happy with heat or water.. which is weird for a lab!
It's wild that the guy that owns that beach bar is leading folks to believe he has any connection whatsoever to Stanley Selengut's Maho Bay Camps. Maho Bay Camps , if it had not been pushed out of business by some other millionaires before the beach bar was even a twinkle in anybody's eye, would have been horrified to see that development around the corner.
I am sure it was never in their head that Maho would become what it is. There are fewer places in the world to see untouched beautiful beaches.
