Why Buy From Us: Our Shipping Process
In this video we'll provide some insight into what makes Vanlife Outfitters different when it comes to how we treat packages and how we treat our customers. We're vanlifers ourselves and we've built tons of vans, so we know how difficult the process can be when things don't arrive on time or damaged. We provide fast, secure shipping and we go the extra mile to protect packages from ruthless shipping company employees. We do all this because we understand the build process and we know what it's like to be in the middle of the van build process and have to stop or pause because the product arrived damaged. @VanlifeOutfitters 22 дня назад

      Most of our customers (in camper vans or RVs) are wiring the power supply for the Webasto heater to their "house" batteries. However, you can certainly wire the power supply to your vehicle/truck starter battery. There is a low voltage disconnect feature that will turn the heater off before it completely drains the vehicle battery. If you have the SmarTemp digital controller, you can adjust the specific voltage that will trigger this.

    Hi guys good Video Can I ask what the benefits are to run your battery parallel wires all the way to the distributor? Seems like a lot of wire and space taken up in the distributor Is there a difference in this set up compared to a standard battery parallel wire diagrams ?? TIA

    • @VanlifeOutfitters
      @VanlifeOutfitters Месяц назад

      Thanks! A few reasons to parallel the batteries at the Lynx Power In (or Lynx Distributor). First, it allows you to have a fuse at each battery-to-system connection so that each circuit is protected. Secondly, it allows you to have the same length of cable between each battery and the system so that there is roughly equal resistance. That helps even out the charge/discharge current so that the batteries stay better balanced. Finally, we just like the "Lynx Train" set up with the Lynx Power In on the left side for battery connections, the Lynx BMS in the middle and then one (or more) Lynx Distributors on the right side. It's a really clean and organized setup with all the terminals protected under the covers of the various Lynx components.

    I live in Colorado and spend a lot of time in the mountains, so a heater that works up to at least 10,000' is essential for my DIY van conversion project. Most of the standard options that will run off the gasoline in my Transit fuel tank (e.g. Webasto) max out at 5000'. This heater, that is rated up to 15,000', looks like a fantastic solution that provides both heating and hot water. My only concern is having a unit that is burning gasoline inside my van. I understand that the exhaust is vented outside, and combustion air is also drawn from outside, but it still feels like a slight risk. Am I worrying about nothing? Is it at all feasible to mount these units outside the van? Or perhaps in an alcove that is set into the van but sealed off from the interior (except for water and air ducts)? I see that Aqua Hot also makes more expensive hydronic systems. How do these compare?

    • @josh.theberge
      @josh.theberge 2 месяца назад

      Hi Simon, it's not recommended to install this outside. You should have a carbon monoxide detector inside your van regardless of what or where you install. Any gasoline or diesel heater (Aquahot, Webasto, Espar, etc) will have combustion and it's quite common as most people have them inside their van. As long as you install it using the instructions and have a carbon monoxide detector, you'll be fine. Try not to overthink it :)
