1956 Packers Film (Silent)

HELP! I'm not sure what year this is? I think its 1956 with Tobin Rote (#18) at quarterback and Billy Howton (#86) at end. I am fairly positive it includes an Al Carmichael (#48) 106-yard kickoff return from 1956. I guess this could be parts from different seasons.

#20, Lem Barney, with the interception. Amazing Cornerback: 56 INTs, 7 for TDs.
Number 26, Herb Adderly.
Saw this game on tv in Lacrosse, WI.
I think we should go back to marking where a player goes out of bounds with the referees hat.
🖕green bay
I'm sad I never got to share the same airspace as this man. He passed a decade before I was born.
Is that Jack Concanon throwing multiple interceptions?
Great teacher and judge of talent
Awesome coach and person strong christian went to mass daily 😊
❤
Wish they would show more games from this era at regular speed
All the starters played in a preseason game.
That first series against the Bears: The Packers threw the ball?
Vince Lamborai a legend build the Packers from stach he invented the sweep no one could stop them.
Netflix NFL XMas: The NFL needs to looks at the NBAs mistake of touting pay per view games. Just look what being exclusive has done to NBA ratings.
So fun to hear the old Packers theme song playing on the kickoffs, just like I remember.
I was born in Milwaukee, well Cudahy actually in 67, and I remember WITI Channel-6 during the 70's. Tom Hooper, Jill Giesler, Albert the Alley Cat, and the others who did the news, helped with the MDA Telethons. I have so many wonderful childhood memories of Milwaukee. The 41-Twin Drive-in Theater, Willow's Mini-Golfing and Driving Range, the Go-Karts on South 27th Street, Southridge Mall, Southgate Mall, and Toys"R"Us on 27th and Howard Avenue. But the best times were spent going to Milwaukee County Stadium to see the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers! It was always a treat, a blessing to spend time there. I really miss the 70's and 80's!
At 1:40 Lambeau stands look strange. As though in the middle of increasing the capacity.
Boyd Dowler carried that hapless defender into the end zone like he was a bag of marshmallows.
I remember that game well. GB vs. Philly, opening game of the 1968 season. The following week, the Packers were hammered by the Vikings at Milwaukee County Stadium. Finished the regular season with a disappointing 6-7-1 record.
For those who don’t know it, back then these games were called “ exhibition”games.
I was watching the video of the 1959 Pro Bowl and I was shocked at how the players gave their blood in that game, besides it was strange to see Van Brocklin and Frank Gifford playing games, the defenders tackling like a regular game.
Rare interception thrown by Bart Starr.
What a play by Jordan to sack their QB at 3:42.
Yeah and nowadays the idiots in the stands mimic them. Always seeking recognition. It’s all about me, ya know.
My Mom was on the cheerleading squad from ‘63 to ‘65 . She said it was so much fun , but the late November and early December games were a real challenge .
I can't imagine how a lady could be a cheerleader in our winter weather? I can remember being outside some days but as a kid it was fun, now as an older adult, a MUCH older adult, it's no longer remotely close to being fun. It's an amazing story that your Mom was a cheerleader for the Packers! I have a Mom story too. My Mom worked two jobs back in the late 60's, early 70's. One of them was being a waitress at one of the fancy restaurants in Downtown Milwaukee. I can't remember exactly what the name was. Ugh! However one particular weekend she had a large group come in for dinner. She was one of the people who waited on them. It was the Dallas Cowboys. She told me how polite Tom Landry was, and how decent they all were, plus they gave her a HUGE TIP. She made more on that table that she did all week there. I miss my Mom, she was one of the hardest working people I ever met. And she was the most dedicated woman to her family. Merry Christmas to our Moms! And Merry Christmas to you and everyone else as well. God Bless and let's pray for a much Safer and Happier New Year! 🙏
He would be dead the next year
I love Vince the way he motivated The Packers to become winners.I love the sweep he invented.RIP
Tough man…great results.
Blood bone
Biggest upset in the history of the NCAA??? I wouldn’t go that far but it was still an upset regardless. UNC was the team to beat that year and not very many people were expecting Marquette to pull it off.👏
The players were so much smaller back then..That team would lose 100-0 to the the worst team in today's league
What a legend
I grew up a Marquette fan, attending games at the Milwaukee Arena and the Chicago Stadium double headers, consisting of Marquette, Loyola, Notre Dame and Illinois. He was a personal icon and hero in my eyes. Current coach Shaka Smart and his Marquette Warriors are primed to resurrect the era of Al again.0:39 e e
Who cares. Only cheese heads. He didn't do to in Washington. Over rated.🤘🧀😆😝
Nice clip, where can I find the complete 52 min movie?
Somebody, (who isn't too smart) might say Belichek. Har, har, har. I read a quote from a Patriots Wide Reciever. He said, 'Belicheks genius is Tom Brady at starting QB'. Har, har, har. What have the Patriots done since Brady left? Har, har, har. BAID....Boy, Am I Drunk.
oh.. he saw grandpa outa peripheral huh
What did his departure mean? 20 years of wondering through a frozen desert-snow blind.
Go Pack Go!!
That looks like Lombardi's kid, Vince Jr. at 1:30 doing ball boy duties.
Greatest coach ever. 💚💛
Lombardi and Bud Grant.
Notice all the red jackets in the stands? The was the color for hunting before the orange became the standard. Lots of hunters in Wisconsin and that was their warmest jacket.
What they are unaware of is that Packers are about to enter into a deep, dark 25-year world of ineptness.
What's with all the Bengals fans at 1:50? 😁
Their offense looks so fluid and disciplined.
In the last 30 or 40 seconds you see houses in the background, it makes it look like they are practicing in the neighborhood park. It sure makes it look like another aspect of the team being part of the community, rather than a team that lives and works in their own bubble
Vince knew his team was going to be great. He went from the very fundamentals of conditioning to every detail of the playbook. No one was going to beat his team. There is a reason that his name is on the Lombardi Trophy.
@ 1:21 Starr to Dowler TD in the Ice bowl.
Love my Bears through and through, but there’s nothing like Lombardi
Vince did it the hard way and rose up the ranks to be the greatest coach in NFL history. He never cheated. He just had his guys put on the pads, and he taught them how to win. He drove them to be champions, and sometimes they hated him, but they cried at his funeral because they all knew what he did for them. RIP Vince. You set the example for what it takes to be a champion in life and in sports.
Just watch, the media and culture will relegate this great man out and declare someone else to be the greatest coach of all time. I can hear the presentation as they award the new Super Bowl trophy named after-Belichek?😎🤑
