Don’t be lazy man, boil down the Urea and recrystalize it so that you start with a 100% pure ingredient. Working with as pure of ingredients makes it for a more predictable outcome and higher quality products. Urea out of the bag comes with a ton of gunk and some brown crap that you should be removing.

I don't really get why someone would waste nitric acid making calcium nitrate. Calcium nitrate is cheaper and 100x easier to aquire than Nitric acid.

It's color is very similar to iodine at it's liquid or vapor form. Iodine can sublimate at room temp, but it can melt once you heat it up, the sublimation can intensify if it's about to melt, until the sublimation has turned into evaporation, cuz when the sublimating solid melts, it's now a evaporating melted liquid.

The step that im performing 1. Add ice to the surrounding of beaker A 2. Beaker A filled with nitric acid (68%) 3. After beaker A cooled then sulfuric acid (98%) added slowly 4. After waiting for couple minutes, glycerin added 1ml per 10 ml of HNO3 + H2SO4, this using a thermometer 5. Monitor the celcius with drop pipette thermometer (should not over 30 degree celcius) 6. Waiting for additional couple of minutes, beaker A is poured into ice bath 7. Is nitroglycerin formed correctly ? Need help, because i don't see any nitroglycerin formed Edit : step 4 using a thermometer
