HPG sell a bicycle water bottle now too!
Perfect!! East straight forward, Just what Ive been looking for. Going to go build it now Thanks you
You're welcome
really nice set up and kit list. I'd throw a few MRE style energy bars in there. yes you dont NEED to eat, but if you have to overnight, a snack would be nice just to get something in your stomach and ward off the hunger shakes. at least i know me and i'd love a little snack just to hold me over.
What does the post-it say on the back of your head in the beginning of the video? 😄
Best one I've seen yet actually! Great Job! Thanks! 👍 Tj 🇺🇲🤜🏼💥🤛🏼🇺🇲.
Nicely done! Thanks for showing the steps along the way. Nice Ukes!
Asking, what is the length of the cut in relation with wood dimension?
Depends on the angle you set.
Great video. Thanks for the information. Love Jack! Great apprentice you have there! Love Goldens. He’s beautiful. What a face!
What I like about this; You can "plane" (grind it off with a router, or whatever method you want) a headstock sized area on one end of the board, then scarf it off.
Thanks for sharing. I like to finish mine off with a coat of clear matte
Good sensible advice and information. I just ordered one of these.
You will not be disappointed. I just had the Ute and tarahumara shipped up here to Canada. Cost me a small fortune with the exchange rate and duty. I had some buyers remorse after I ordered (lot of money in this economy). However it wasn’t out of the box for 5 seconds and I felt perfectly fine with the purchase. Amazing quality, great folks that own the company and amazing warranty. Worth every penny.
looking for info on this pack came here for the dog:)
came for the pack, stayed for the dog?
Nope. Saw the dog and clicked. Stayed for the pack
Thanks for the tip.
You're welcome
That's good root beer!!
What’s the name of the internal Velcro holster you showed?
Nice video and great message at the end.
All those curves in the handle of an axe took centuries of experience to place. Smaller axes have very accentuated handles for a reason. Never be afraid altering stuff to accommodate what you have evolved into.
What is the green velcro holster you had?
I believe it is a Maxpedition Modular Universal CCW holster.
Sweet kit!
Thanks
I know this is an old video but...I'm trying to decide if this bag fits my 5'6" with a 17" torso. Curious: how tall are you? I'd be using it for short hikes but worry it's too long and that the back panel isn't supportive enough. Do you find it comfortable? Thank you for your wisdom, if you're still out there.
I'm 5'10". The pack doesn't have any support, or frame sheet. There is a slot that you could put one. I believe it was designed to carry a pretty light load. The shoulder harness design makes it very comfortable, at least for me. Hope that helps.
@@zulu5oscar765 helps a lot! Thank you!
@@seechangenyc280 you're welcome
Go Phillies! 😁. Thanks for the video. Looks like a quality piece of outdoor gear.
You're welcome, go Buccos! 😀
A couple years late, but if you read this, this was a great informative video. Thank you very much, I know what size to get now and keep up the good work!
Thank you so much! I will build this jig!
You're very welcome
Great video and great jig! I think I will use this method!
This is more of a survival kit BOB IMHO. My GHB is food, water kit, rain jacket, extra cash, headlamp,FAK and protection.
everyones got a slightly different variation to suit them. im just glad you both have something to be prepared!
vidal sasoon lol theyre not ready for that throwback brother lol
I agree lol...showing my age.
Nice video. Thanks.
You're welcome
Great vid! I, too, have had this bow for several years - I personally love it! Until recently, I lived in chicago for 15 years... you nailed it - a bow is "silent" for home intruders - or any other defensive/hunting need. Proficiency is a must! This is different from any other bow I've ever shot - but it's very intuitive. I went all-in, with the take down arrows, too. From what I've heard they are now out of business - I'm glad I "got" when I did 😉 Great piece of kit!
Cool.
Bottom line, you can fit all you need in that pack. The more you know the less you need.
Thanks for the video, I need to make one of these. It looks like you drew the angles from the front corner of the sled rather than from the pivot point. With the angles drawn from the pivot screw, I'll match the angle lines to a line drawn down the middle of the butt end of the fence. Either sled will produce repeatable results, but one will more likely produce the expected angle.
I am going to make this! Thank you for the presentation...
You’re very welcome.
Personal liberty and personal freedom wish our government still believed in that got one coming for Christmas
Great advice!
I agree with you about REI, I try to avoid companies that support a political agenda! They should be more concerned with providing the customers a value minded quality product instead of politics. Alot companies lose customers by getting involved in a political agenda or movement!
Thinking about purchasing the same thing. I have a Glock 27. Do you think it will fit ok? I’m also from Kane. What part of pa are you from?
It’ll fit up to a G19 sized pistol, so it will fit. I did a video on HPG Original Kit Bag V2 and in it I compare it to the Snubby side by side. I’d recommend the V2 over the Snubby everytime.
Why do u recommend the bigger one? Is the smaller one hard to get things in? I do want small as possible. I know for my gf who is a runner I’m going to get the smaller one for her 38 special airweight
if you want small as possible go with the Snubby
The face of the dog every time you shoot :)
Where did you get the Velcro holster?
I believe it is a Maxpedition holster, they’re dirt cheap, but work well in this application.
Wow great looking cammo
shim Thanks
I just ordered this knife in the 3v looking forward to use it. good video!
Where'd you find it in 3V at?
I still carry 6 beef jerky sticks and 8 peanut butter packets you can eat that while your moving great source of fat and protein
that hardly takes up any space, why not!
Lol you didn’t want green yet the tarp is very green that’s all you see btw great kit really like that bag nice setup
I wanted a green tarp, not a neon/fluorescent green style tarp. In my area, the eastern woodlands, it will blend.
This man is very big and it makes the bag very small but his voice is like a whisper.
At the time of this video, I was 5'10" tall and 170lbs.
@@zulu5oscar765 the problem with audio was with my speakers. It's fine on the phone. So the bag is really quite small.
Layput It's a minimalist bag. Firearm, wallet, phone and keys is about it. I made a video for the Original Kit bag V2, in that video I compared it side by side to the Snubby.
Lovely bit of work turning a pig-ugly over-thick handle into something far more elegant and useful. Did something similar to my Husky hatchet, but more hexagonal with much more meat taken from the shoulders, and around an extra half inch of useable length gained by sliming down the end stop. Great video.
Boris Tabacsplatt Thanks
I built one today using this concept. I didn't make mine adjustable. Set it for 14 degrees. I added a hold down clamp on the 2 x 2 to hold the 1 x 2 in place without needed separate clamps. Works well in tests. Will try it tomorrow as I embark on my first CBG build.
Awesome! Good luck on your build Jim.
Nice chest rig! Where did you get that holster from, that you replaced the trigger cover with?
Bee Ann Thanks, I believe it was a usgruntgear IWB holster that was trimmed down. On HPG's website they sell a similar holster under firearm accessories, but you could make your own from any spare kydex holster.
Great video. Great message at the end too
The common size is good, but sometimes one wants to be low key and wear something very light such as is preferable in hot and humid weather or to go about daily business in town running errands and such or taking a walk near home or on the spur of the moment. I think smaller packs are overlooked and even under valued. Nice looking dog, reminds me of our golden retriever Strider.
Frank Vazquez Maxpedition's Entity Series is hard to beat for a low key way to carry a firearm. Variety of sizes also. I have one and it's built well.
How is it holding up these days? Have you had to replace the limbs at all?
timelessnugget I have a number of bows, and honestly the PGU Survival Bow gets the least amount of use. That's mainly because I have much better "tools" to hunt with, which is primarily why I'm into archery. The PGU limbs have held up well and the construction is good. I think that for what it was designed for (a lightweight survival bow), the compactness, weight, and the price point ($150), it's a good bow. There are a lot of imported takedown hunting bows out there that are much cheaper, and require tools to assemble, but the quality seems to be lacking. Hope this helps, take care.
This is a nice review, giving gear considerations and regard towards alternative uses. I was actually considering for my survival/essentials gear. Other reviewers claimed heat build up during warmer months. I may reconsider. I want something on me 24/7. If I’m forced to evade, not able to return to base camp, my raft floats down stream, I fall down a ravine with injury. When I transition from raft to camp... it’ll ALWAYS be on me. I would have Molle sewn on the gun side. Thanks for showing the divided pockets (no videos explain such). 😁👍👍
Bill Badoni glad the video was helpful. I would recommend HPGs Original Kit Bag V2 over the Snubby. I made a video of the V2 and show differences between them. As far as heat buildup is concerned, I've never worn a bag or pack during the summer that didn't make you sweat, especially if it's on all day. Besides, if you're in a situation that you're actually trying to escape and evade, you'll be sweating from places you didn't know you could sweat from. Depending on how much gear you plan on carrying, HPGs Tarahumara or Connor pack may be good options.
