This is EXACTLY how I feel especially when she fights Anakin (before the clone wars flashback). Lightsabers should feel dangerous as they're pure energy. I also wanted to mention in the prequels (and TCW) the lightsabers don't pulsate which just makes them look so powerful.

Your Han idea is awesome! Also, I've always felt that they gave away Kylo Ren's secret identity too early in the movie, so whatever helps postponing it (ideally it would be until the confrontation with his father) is a welcome addition.

Han's jacket having the New Republic logo would be ambitious and long VFX wise but absolutely amazing. I always wanted an edit that implied Han was still working for the New Republic dealing with the underworld or negotiations... and having that New Republic emblem patch would be a fantastic way to reinforce that if you can get it to work. But even if the VFX doesn't pan out maybe have the New Republic emblem graffiti'd on the falcon perhaps? You could also resubtitle the criminal gangs during the standoff confrontation to have explicit dialogue about Han's New Republic job. And change C3PO dialogue when he sees Han to call him General Solo

The one thing about prequel and ot lightsabers is that they emit no light onto the actors/ surroundings

Hello! Ive been working on a Phantom Menace re-edit as well, and I was also adding Dooku to Qui-Gon's funeral. I'm really stoked to see that others agree it is a good idea! I genuinely believe George should've done this himself Not sure how much you agree with this one, but I also re-implimented the scene with Anakin sleeping outside, where I gave him a short dream/vision of Qui-Gon dying (but brushing it off of course), which I think gives his fears for Padmé's safety in ROTS more credence because he'll have a 2/3 track record of accurate death prediction (I also triee my best to do the scene in such a way where a first time viewer wouldnt necxisarily understand whats happening until later when Qui-Gon actually dies) Oh, and I also really appreciate your light saber edits! Most edits for them I see are way too over the top and flashh, but yours are restrained and cohesive enough to fit right in!

Love these changes! The lightsabers in the original cut not only look different, but they also sound different when they clash. It sounds more rough, definitely not as smooth as in Episodes 2 and 3. Glad to see someone is updating this. Subscribed

I love the idea of Dooku at Qui Gons funeral but wouldn't it go against the canon established in Tales of the Jedi? I get obviously a fan edit that shouldn't be taken as canon material. I'm just not sure if you were going for added consistency with the lore or just making a better version of the story? I hope I am not coming off as rude. I really dig what you are doing here.

You dare touch perfection?! But those are some nice little subtle edits. I don't like getting rid of Jar Jar though. I'd actually say if you can get him to jump down regularly, but fully just collapse when he lands, it would work. He'd jump down, but with a thump since he'd be obscured anyway, you just need the sound effect. It explains how he could get down to the captives without taking the long way around, but why he's not fighting either, otherwise, why jump down with Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan? As for painting him out anywhere he isn't relevant, I wouldn't do that. There should be a visual continuity rather than him just popping up wherever, taking the long ways around that just happen to be out of frame won't help. Edit some of the scenes that may fail to be comedic, tone him down a bit, but erasing him because he's in a shot where he's not the focal point just doesn't feel right.

I like the added sparks and cracks in the wall for the Battle Droid force push, but I think they move a little too fast, to the point where it looks kinda fake. I'd say just keep the sparks and crack in the wall, without the speed-up, but that's just my opinion.

Thank you so much for fixing the lightsaber motion blur lol, it's been something that I have always noticed while watching that scene because it always sticks out like a sore thumb.

The film gets closer and closer to perfection all the time!

I'm 50\50 on the jarjar treatment. I get it because how much he was put in the forefront of the movie, but it also feels wrong to suppress him entirely when he is such a large part of the film. Since a lot of jarjars scenes seemed to be built around marketing and the child audience at the time it does make sense for your edits to adjust this since you aren't beholden to the same restraints. Though, it could be interesting to keep the same soul of the scene but space the goofiness out to be better timed. An example of what I mean would be keeping this jarjar clumsily falling scene but splitting him from quigon and obiwan and showing him fall down after the fight is over. This could keep the humor that was intended but also not place him in the middle of everything. I also think this could be cool because it can show early on how jarjar can be sensible but still silly. Thoughtful enough to not hinder the jedi's fight which would lead into him being recognized in the final battle and eventually becoming a senator.
