    Just take the same wooden board, drill in the middle of it with the bigger diameter and use that board with the new hole as a guide to make your old hole bigger.

    Hi, I had a similar problem but didn’t have space for this solution, I need basically a 65 Dia hole opening up to 75mm, I ended up cutting some holes in some scrap wood at 65 and leaving them on the drill bit, they then acted as a guide for the 75mm. I haven’t seen this solution on RUclips. If you like the idea would be great to see a video as your Chanel will have a greater reach.

    Had the same question. Fit perfectly as well, mid joist straddle. Just make sure your thin LED light is marked "IC rated" so they can come into contact with the insulation if present. The rating could be marked on the light puck, or it could be marked on the power box.

      dado blade. It's two normalish blades that have smaller bits you fit in between. I think it isn't common in the EU due to safety regulations

    how would you go about assembling the prefinished ply if you don't want the screw holes showing?

    • @mauricecooper9016
      @mauricecooper9016 4 месяца назад

      You can get away with just glue using his build method. You just have to clamp it and wait for the glue to dry before moving on to further assembly. Another way is to skip the dados and use pocket screws on the top and bottom panels. Unless you look under or above the cabinet you wont see the pocket holes and it keeps the side panel clean.

    Brilliant tip to run the drillin reverse! I had to enlarge by 4mm....and it worked. I didnt use a jig. I attached two hole saws to the drill arbour as shown in other videos. But the jig is a top tip too if enlarging multiple holes. Thanks for sharing.

    This was the only video I could find showing a jig to use on a router table to make a bowl. I didn't like the other methods using an oversized router baseplate so I used this method today to build a jig and make two 16" round platters with a ½" lip, super easy to make and safe to use. Instead of "clamps" like you used, I just put screws through the jig into waste areas of my wooden blank. Thanks for the video!

    Your finished product is top notch. My attempts at making the template went well; but the Bowl Bit in my router table never let me get passed scrap piece. Gouges, burns, varied depths. Tried different cutting heights, 3 different size Bowl Bits (an inexpensive Amazon set). My router is a Skill in a Skill Table, speed set at 2 (with 6 being the top speed). Any thoughts as to what the problem(s) are? I am not well experienced with routers and or using the table. I have used my little trim router for years with acceptable results. Are the Bowl Bits that tricky? Any thoughts offering possible fixes would be appreciated.

    I have exactly the same situation in my bathroom project. These puck lights were made for this application, even though the instructions say to have 3" clearance in the ceiling above the light, "avoiding joists, pipes and other things." I'm pretty sure they're just saying this for CYA reasons. Hahaha

    I had thought about running in reverse to at least score through the paper, but heck, you've shown it goes all the way through and produces far cleaner cuts than most of the scraggly hole cuts folks have uploaded to RUclips.
