I actually didn't hate the red cask, I typically like red cask whisky though, I didn't buy it, it was gifted to me. Would be interested in trying maple cask certainly. Not really into football or whatever but whisky is whisky

I picked this up just today, and I found it pretty remarkable. Vanilla and strong black pepper on the nose, then an explosion of black pepper and gunpowder on the palate with a subtle sweet fruit finish. I was astounded at how appropriate the name was!

It helps a lot to first freeze the fruit as it breaks down the cells and accelerates the infusion process. I use 190 proof everclear and add it and the to a mason jar fruit after the fruit has thawed out. I shake the bottle once a day until after about six or seven days the fruit turns white. It is then ready to add simple syrup and water to get the desired proof and sweetness. Freezing the fruit takes months off the time it takes to produce a good product. Adding a small amount of lemon juice takes out some of the cloudiness and provides a smother. taste.

Bravo!! I couldn't tell the difference either! I generally mix it with an ice cube and either a dollop of either diet Pepsi or diet Ginger Ale. It seems like 100years ago now but they used to make a 100% 10 year old rye in Alberta sold in a wood box and called "Alberta Sipping Whisky " . They changed it by adding a dollop of corn whiskey which made it overly sweet and called it "Alberta Springs". It might be worth trying if you are in Canada.

Had breakfast next door at the Chuckwagon Cafe :) Tried some of their gins as well. I found the maple to be very prevalent in this whisky, not subtle. I’m not a fan of Gretzky’s lineup of whisky.
