Did The Story So Far Release Their Best Album This Year?
From Rolling Stone:
Since forming in Walnut Creek, California, in 2007 and rising to niche fame as one of the leading voices of pop-punk’s burgeoning fourth wave, Cannon and the Story So Far have learned to listen to themselves when they need a break from all the noise. They immediately churned out 2015’s self-titled LP after their breakout 2013 album, What You Don’t See, and took three solid years to develop their sound further. Their fourth album, Proper Dose, followed in 2018 and saw the band experimenting with Britpop sounds. The record received critical acclaim and charted on the Billboard 200 at Number 19. But just when they were finding a new stride, the band went through several li...

From Pure Noise Records: If it’s hard for you to believe that Four Year Strong have been a band for nearly two decades, you’re not alone because its members feel the same way. Since forming in 2001 in Worcester, Massachusettes, while the members were still in high school, Four Year Strong have carved out their own niche in the music community by merging the infectiousness of pop-punk with the a...

Leaving "The Upsides" Behind

The Wonder Years followed up The Upsides with another classic: Suburbia I've Given You All and Now I'm Nothing. It's basically a pop-punk standard at this point, and is today's topic in the final installment of March Sadness.

The Story So Far's 3rd LP "Self-Titled" came with heavy expectations. Their debut supercharged them as "the one's to watch" in the pop-punk genre. As we await the release of "I Want To Disappear" and listen to "Letterman", let's revisit the album that everyone thinks is their worst. #marchsadness #poppunk #emo #tssf

The Album That REALLY Wasn’t Sad Anymore
Love this album. Got to see them perform live about 2 months ago for the first time (became a fan of theirs only about 2 years ago) and it was mindblowing how great they sounded. If this is the last album they make, I will have personally been left very happy. Maybe recency bias plays a part in this, but it's my #2 album of theirs behind USAD. Keep You Around is my favorite off of the album.
Hell yes brother
Spot on. It doesn’t resonate like all the other albums. I think the album lacks cohesion. The songs to me don’t seem to relate maybe poor ordering of the track list. But every other tssf song you know what album it belongs on. This is almost the b sides album
Fun little album but I am so partial to the finger pointing era. I do think the slightly heavier instrumentation suits their style more than proper dose, which I enjoyed as well. Good vid my friend
How are we feeling about “I Want To Disappear” now that it’s been out for a while?
Ooo I'm diggin the artistic time lapse format sir 👀 so dope
LFG
Hey bro could you look into the band “tarnish” and their new EP .. I think you would really like them. My buddy is the drummer
“Bite the knife” and “never ending” hit so hard
love getting introduced to new bands that have a pretty large catalogue. glad you're posting again bro.
I absolutely love the album, the heaviness, the weirdness, the different influences. I think it all works together to make a very fun and repeatable listen!
Also, shout-out to the music videos, especially "Uncooked". Fucking awesome color pallettes and just great shots.
I actually really liked (and still like) "Dead End Friend". "Bad Habit"'s whoop (or whatever) in the chorus really kills the song for me, for some reason.
21st Century Breakdown is the most criminally underrated Green Day album
Not quite a new release but I'd love to hear your thoughts on Adjy's "The Idyll Opus". I think they are a highly slept on band! Great Video as always!
Bring Me The Horizon's POST HUMAN: NeX GEn has been heavy in my rotation since its release, especially LosT and n/A.
It’s been a minute! I hope everyone has been well and have been enjoying all of the awesome releases we’ve gotten this summerz New videos are in the works, so let me know if there are any albums you’ve been loving lately!
Your Arms Are My Cocoon finally dropped their album, yo gotta talk about that
My favorite is the self titled 2011 ep. Pop punk masterpiece imo.
Retro Future is killer man
if its ok to ask, john is background vocals in no good? i thought it was joe, nick, and kevin!! where they talked about it?
Sick
I have a new album coming out late august/early September. Would you possibly be interested in reviewing it or setting up an interview to talk about it?
Please come back and make content again pls
Soon! Just been slacking
Fireworks is such a sleeper band. I play Gospel front to back like nobodies business, and Oh Common Life definitely grew with me. Tbh, I actually was intrigued by the opener of their last album, but underwhelmed by the rest of the album first listen to that not enough tracks went for that hardcore/post hatdcore sound. Woods 2 is my fav. I can see myself liking this sound direction, but it's hard to tell what the band is ever up to, which is okay.
how dare you put 21st century breakdown on the "shaky path" that's the best green day album
Im actually not a big fan of the opening track. I prefer the second half of the album tbh.
Funny cause Rain In July is their best
Blue flower. Duh. Those other 3 look so off.
I liked their earlier EPs a little bit better but the full length is so good too! I can’t wait to hear what comes next from them.
Green day is over rated
Was not expecting to see a screenshot of my Reddit comment in this video hahaha
to me, the "big payoff" of the album is commatose, with abyss angel acting as a lovely denouement
I loved this album it was always in my discman the ladies loved this album as well lol
I’d be so sad if I looked at this album for 14 years and didn’t get this right LMAO. I knew it was blue. But second guess was yellow for some reason
I agree that the entire album is a masterpiece. I once thought that I had completely figured out the narrative, assuming the album was a continuous storyline. I got the chance to speak to Christian about my interpretation. He thought it was interesting, but I was way off the mark. Much like The Wonder Years’ “The Greatest Generation,” it impossible to listen to the album without feeling deep emotions every time.
fireworks, with the punches, and the wonder years were my favorite 3 of that era
“More of the same” doesn’t really do it justice. There’s a lot of experimentation compared to What You Don’t See
I lived all these years thinking this album was people’s favorite. Seems like ppl love self titled and prefer it over under soil and dirt and things you don’t see. To me this band matured with every record produced.
I overall enjoy this album more den the previous ones. This album was very hated when it dropped but reddit most ppl fuck wit it more
True fans love this record.
I didnt realize this was apparently considered there worst album i prefer it over undersoil and dirt and especially proper dose if anything proper dose IMO was carried by its singles and the studio release of the album IMO ruined ":out of it". the single version was way better maybe im crazy but i loved this album it carried me so hard in my late teens especially with how common heartbreak seemed to be LMAO
Smile, mock, how you are top 5 song from them period
Literally their best album!
Worst???? Y’all are smoking crack. Give me this over Proper Dose any day.
I love this record! It is hugely important to me. It came out on my 16th birthday, right when I was going through a breakup. Perfect timing lol! In my opinion, Nerve is the best TSSF song. That song and this album has gotten me thru the best and worst of times ever since it came out in 2015.
I prefer pop rock
Sound clip source?
Pilot is their best album. You're just not midwest emo enough to know that
I love Father of All. It’s just…. different and I appreciated them wanting to switch it up. It’s not their best but I still think it’s a solid album. The first 3 songs, especially, are total jams. I haven’t disliked a single album, by GD although I think the trilogy could and should have been condensed into one epic, maybe 18-20 song, album. Saviors is another masterpiece from them, imo. Not a skip on it. Dilemma, Goodnight Adeline & Corvette Summer, Look Ma, No Brain's and Living in the 20s current top 5.
The 90's was a great era for albums with no filler.
All of Green Day is mid tbh
