@@davidwasilewski we might need to adjust these numbers a bit. 1/2 of a 3k game is 1,500; and we’re spending that on medium detachments. 1/4 is 750, and that’s our value for small and large. So our largest formation is 750, and we have twice that for medium formations. This means we need to break the medium formations into 3 formations minimum, of 500 points each. There’s just not a lot of room for tanks when we break it up this way. Edit, I realize we both said detachments, but I was thinking about formations the entire time.

@@s2korpionic they look a lot better than the little ones. Honestly the little baby buildings don’t fit in at all. I do like the idea of some buildings smaller than Warhounds to give them better fields of fire than tanks, and continuing that theme with each larger Titan.

@@EagleSpireGaming Never delay a release for graphic consistency. That’s why you have multiple acceptable graphic design standards. Peachy has talked a lot about how inefficient the photography process is too. Jordan’s sorcery touches on it, older interviews he talks about it extensively.

@@Jab-02 well, one is a mobile anti aircraft platform, something that’s missing in the battle group. The deredo dreadnaught can move, but it’s half the speed of the Arcus. You could actually use both to shoot aircraft, but one could alternate to shoot at tanks, while the other alternates to infantry. I think they make a good addition to the battlegroup.

@@granteklund9943 one will get 2.8 hits on an aircraft in overwatch. With a -1 AP, you should kill at least one of any aircraft, except the thunderhawk, who has a 2+ save and 2 wounds.

@@DanMacevicius I filmed this twice, not liking how long it took the first time. I think I mentioned like 7 times how you don’t have to put the missiles on, just tell your opponent what they’ve got, and no one’s going to know which missile you used. Needless to say, I didn’t use that cut, but it’s still accurate. WYSIWYG need not apply to these guys.

@@EagleSpireGaming I’m deliberately leaving the most ‘fun’ and useful stuff (the infantry and tanks) till the last. Eat your frog! This way, I don’t do enough to start playing games and then run out of steam, and be left with a grey mountain of shame (something I have done in the past with 40k). The only down side to my approach is that I can’t play with lovely, modern figures now.

@@davidwasilewski yeah, definitely pros and cons to both tactics. In the past I’ve painted enough to play small games, and then built up to larger games. This has been the first time since 3rd edition where I’ve built models before painting the previous build.

@@davidwasilewski that’s a lot of terrain, and a huge table. What sized games are you planing on playing with it?

@@EagleSpireGaming I have a permanent set up that can be left one week to the next. For this reason we tend to play bigger games. Sometimes multiplayer. For larger, all dayer games, Two players a side, 3k each. Or two players each with 6k (when the armies are all finished anyway). So 12k on the table. But we also play smaller one v one games on a 6 by 4 sometimes.

@@devinforsyth8642 sadly, I think only one of my games were 3k. I keep trying to schedule a game but things come up.

@@EagleSpireGaming dang, I've had 14 games so far since release. Probably because I didn't aim for a legal 3K game, 1K and below (750, 500) and use any unit with no mustering restrictions make it easier to convince someone to have a game with you.

@@s2korpionic oh we didn’t wait to play 3k, and we’ve yet to have unit restrictions. The problem is I live an hour away from a gaming store and even then it only has one person who’s playing the game. It turns out I don’t live in a very populated area.

Terrain was actually one I was looking forward to. I’ve been struggling to put in to words with my player group some of the stuff you mentioned in the video, in particular the need to have different tables to encourage list variety. It would be cool to some other ideas for other styles of terrain. I’m personal working on an air field map and have had a long time dream of making a sea post map where titans can walk out of the ocean.

@@gkiyo definitely a solid take. I’m surprised these boxes are still out and about. I guess GW made a lot more than we thought. I would also consider putting regular Bolter Marines or the Sgt’s on a base to fill them out.

@@EagleSpireGaming That's true about AT, but there weren't many models needed for AT either (apart from the choice of fielding Knights) - it very much seemed like self contained game. I would expect Legions Imperialis to continue It's releases via new models & the like (based on sales), allowing the minaturised versions of some of the more 'Epic' battles fought during the Horus Heresy to be played out in 9mm format. I'd love to see GW maybe be a bit more Titan model inclusive with LI games, points wise. Time will tell, but it should be a different game to AT - and based on how GW are doing, we'll see new releases pitched out, throughout the various other releases being supported right now.

@@LiquidusTalon my prediction is mechanicus next, possibly on its own. Then we will see deamons and custodies released at the same time alongside a terra book.

@@EagleSpireGaming Nice, how many boxes would you recommend for a 2k game and which ones? I am headed to warhammer world in a month and am trying to figure out what my shopping lists should be lol.

@@Jab-02 the “civitas Imperialis Administratum Sector” is 5 boxes for the price of 3. If you build it the way the instructions say, and then space everything out, it will cover a large section of a play area. I would start with that and then either play on a mat or just the table to start off. I’ll make a video reviewing that box so you can see how it looks on the table, with a comparison to the other set. Thanks for the great question and for watching!

@@Jab-02 strictly looking at the official rules, you wouldn’t be able to play all 5 knights at once due to the current limitations on allied detachments. Only 30% of your list could be knights, so you would need to be playing a little over a 3,100 point game. That said, in a friendly game, you shouldn’t have any issues playing such a force. My regular opponent currently runs half his force as Marines, the other as auxiliary, and then a few titans.
