Great painting on these guys - well done!

That’s a very impressive solar auxiliary army
Mechanicum need tanks and some anti-air units! I’ve bought two of the large Mechanicus boxed sets - sounds like that’s enough while we are waiting on tanks?

@@davidchambers331 so it is said, so it shall be.
I am thinking Warmaster titan after my AdMech. Since it fits so easily into the Mechanicum forces and is so dominant. I could use it in any big game.
@@JasonWolfeYT that’s something I’m looking at doing later this year for the same reason.
Turned out rly nice dude! Big fan of how you painted them! Looking forward to seeing reports with them! Ps nice to see the tech priests let the upload go thought 😝
@@wilhelm992 I had to restart the upload and make the proper prayers lol!
Impressive to see it all out and painted! I'm working through 2 boxes and I'm almost done myself!
@@crakataka3250 two boxes at once is just a lot of dudes. Painting 60+ bases at once is demoralizing work.
This was really helpful! I did not know that you got this much buildings in the larger civitas box! As someone who won't make a full city table, for now, one large box and a small one will probably do wonders 👍 Also thank you for the very informative video, learned alot!
Absolutely gorgeous battle table
I got a similar pile growing for my imperialis. Can't paint my stuff faster than what I'm purchasing. I'm hoping this year I can really tackle a bunch and shrink that shame.
Good paint jobs! For Battle Reports I’d suggest: show the table and the scenario, then show both armies and their starting positions first. I like seeing the movement phase as it’s the most tactical part of the game, even if it means a long form report. Don’t need to see all the shooting rolls, just the exciting bits. At the end of each turn summarise the scoring. At the end of the game a reflection on how the game went and how the armies did.
Battle reports: 1) Photos/video of the units on both lists. 2) You can largely skip the movement phase unless something interesting happens. Unit got wiped out by point defence/made a charge etc. 3) Let us know the point s for each player’s objectives and a summary of what happened each round. Nice paint job, 15 points for transport 4? That’s pretty good.
@@davidchambers331 large transport four, which lets you transport bulky models as 1 instead of two, and jet packs count as bulky, so it’s a fantastic transport for the mech. Just a summary of each round or see some dice rolling?
See some dice rolling, but not all of it. Pain to edit I know
@ the way I’ve started doing things is pausing the video as we go. The real question is knowing how much to keep in or not.
Well i have the same pile of shame problem, Hopefully GW will release all the missing stuff like vindicators, whirlwind scorpius, ordinatii etc etc
@@ein-euro-rimjobber2304 that’s only going to make the pile of shame worse! But they are comming, eventually. I’m sure of it.
I think the Triaros datasheet is great. Large transport 4 for only 15 points with 3 lightAT shots + 1 light shot is a great deal. Just as tanks they outshoot Castellax bases for the points. With 8" move this gives 2 Thanatars a first turn 16" march to get into range. Also Triaros is crazy efficient for transporting Myrmidon Destructors. But the model is off. 4 per $50 kit is terrible. And for their size they should either be tougher or shootier and cost more points. And the extra weapons and shield domes on the base that don't do anything and yield just +1 save over a Rhino, which is less than half the size.
i would pay the points to see them at their full potential. it's been a minute since I built them, but if they could only fit 2 on a sprue, then that's kind of it for how many you get. I bet it's that damned wheel's fault too.
for battlereports show armies and explaing what is what, show deployment and go on end of movement (show anythign important like point defense whiping squad), for fireing skip boring stuff (20 bases if infantry shooting 1 tank and scoring 0wounds) but show "bigger stuff" or anythin epic/important (whiping squads or whatever you think), for close combat show everything, just DO NOT FORGET TO DO SUMMARY OF EVERYTHING YOU SKIP IN PHASES yes it will be anoying to edit but i think that will make vide shorter and more interesting ps jsut build triaroses today, and they are last thing for battleforces to paint for me
@@ah526 awesome, that’s on line with what I want to be doing too (even if it hasn’t worked out quite like that)
Fun fact, you can put Cyclops in an arvus lighter. So if you jig it around a bit you could possibly fit some into the air assault formation in the same arvus flight as the tactical commander. They disembark when the arvus moves on, then your opponent would only get one activation (plus an overwatch maybe) to try and kill them before you immediately move them and blow up whatever building or key unit you want to jump on.
@@commissarmartin yes but, they have a 3inch blast, which is diameter, not radius. And the blast markers center needs to be over the model, soooo, unless your willing to only get a few models partially under the template, you’ll need put them on charge orders, which means you’ll need to land them, then activate a master tactician to change their orders to charge, and then you can move them in. That said, you could deploy them behind something. With a 9inch move, they charge 18, you’ve got enough movement to get around a building and into something. Alternatively, there’s always pioneer companies.
Looks lovely dude! Keep it up!
7:03 "I like the crowding. It's just how I am, I guess." This whole passage about crowded bases feels so real. I'm totally with you on this, bud! Really enjoying following along on your progress!
unlike infantry this dont look way bette rthan mine so i am happy :P
@@ah526 so did I mess up my robots or did you mess up your infantry?
@EagleSpireGaming they booth look better than mine but my automatas in my opinion are i same league just different place, while your infantry is in another league
@ I appreciate the compliment, and look forward to seeing yours.
You’re doing well - Slay the grey! I’ve just prepped 9 boxes of marine infantry - ready for painting: clipped all the excess plastic bits off the infantry (the flat dead space plastic between the bolters and bodies), glued them all onto coffee stirrers, and then sprayed them. Now I’m starting building 6 boxes of marine support. When I’ve done all of them I’m planning on painting roughly two thirds of them as Sons of Horus and another third as Death Guard.
@@davidwasilewski that’s a lot of infantry. Are you putting them 5 to a base or spacing n things out?
@ like you, I’m filling the bases with minis. So 5 to a base.
Keep up the hard work!
@@alexthebird2756 thanks! I’m slowly chipping away at
Thanks for the video, never before have I seen someone be so upset/happy by the prospect of getting more toys for their birthday. I know it’s because of the gray pledge. Still funny. With the Mec-boys what I know of them is that their lack of transportation hurts them. Guard and Marines have ways of getting up the board very fast and grabbing objectives early and safely. The Add-Mec do not yet have those tools. I think they are comparatively tough so should survive a mad dash to the objectives. Best advice I can give is to use cover and then punch your opponent in the face round two. Also get their toys locked into combat. Take the above with a pinch of salt though. Solar Aux are my main faction so my advice is from an opponent who hasn’t played against them muchs perspective.
@@davidchambers331 my upsetness about the models I’m getting is mostly because I feel I’ve let you guys down, adding more models to the shame, combined with the daunting knowledge that I have a full schedule for the year planned on when I’m doing what. And I forgot to mention in the video but due to the cold I don’t know when I can prime the next batch. Mech has transports, and they’re large transports, so they can carry all these beautiful walkers. Thanatars included. I think what hurts them is the price they pay for all that durability.
I think the secret tech to mech is that the triaros can carry 2 walkers. Mech is so slow that you are guaranteed to lose an objectives game. But that extra march order from the triaros means your robots actually do something in the first 2 turns.
@@JasonWolfeYT oh yeah, you gotta put them on the conveyor’s. It’s like home to them.
Not to be a pedant, but Bombing does happen in the Movement Phase... 😏
@@TheKingElfstone did we not bomb during his movement? I remember the first bomber was shot down during overwatch and thus wasn’t able to get to his bombing site.
@@TheKingElfstone and for the record, we are A-Okay with anyone pointing out when we miss something.
@EagleSpireGaming oh no planes in this one, it's just that you listed bombing as a type of shooting 😂 really wasn't a mistake
@ oh, this is episode one lol. Yeah, I guess it’s shooting but not shooting.
do you think that the elevated plaza set help this problem
@@marchazelwood-smith8342 oh yeah, it takes a little more planning to get the streets to line up properly with the plaza, but it’s other use a big brick that blocks the entire path of the street from both directions. It’s lower level is tall enough to block infantry line of sight, and the upper level blocks all the tanks. Thanatar and stalkers can see over them (as can titans and knights) which adds to the feeling of dread that soldiers would have towards giant spider robots. You can also put buildings on them to add to the LOS blocking. They fit up to a 4x4 civitas.

@@Jab-02 6 is definitely a sweet spot for these guys. They get the best discount there, and the plasma mortar will do 2.94 damage to a civitas structure. @@alexthebird2756 false, the only way to guarantee victory is to paint all your models.
Nice work on the toys. Particularly like the axes. Why don’t you like magnets? I find them very useful but I know that they’re not for everyone. I can appreciate the mecanicum but will never collect them, they are just not my thing. I applaud your dedication to the EMPRA, not sparing your own son destruction once he turned his back on his eminence.
@@davidchambers331 bad news, he wanted to be the good guys, so I guess I’m ‘pretending’ to be evil for our ‘war games’ I don’t like magnets because I have children and they like to eat things they shouldn’t. They’ve mostly grown out of this stage, but the few magnetized models I did have must have had some kind of casing or something that came off the magnet, freeing it from the model. Maybe they were inferior magnets, but I don’t want to track down better magnets, then do all the work of putting them in. A lot of times I see magnetized models, there’s some piece of cable or something that doesn’t line up anymore. So my preferred solution is to just grow my forces with a new model anyway. I realize it’s a great way to save money on things like titans. I just feel like it’s an expansion hobby on top of the hobby I already have, and have decided to avoid it.
I think most people dont show children online because they are under the age of consent so they cant agree to the ramifications that may result from them being online or targeted by others who are online. There have been new laws trying to target people profiting off their children via social media and content creation platforms but they are mostly related to child neglect or abuse or money management. I doubt you will have any problems with any of those things but it would open up your family dynamic to the public which could be risky if trolls decide to pounce on the situation. I assume as the legal guardian its up to you and your son if thats all acceptable but it could be worth doing some research or using an alternative name. In Japan there are stricter rules where people blurr faces which could also be an option to retain privacy. Good luck, we will watch either way lol.
@@Jab-02 makes me wonder how all those kids who make those mystery toy unboxing videos do it. Maybe I’ll keep him off camera.
@@EagleSpireGaming That's exactly why the laws started i think lol. When a 6 year old is making millions there's some weird dynamics going on lol.

You could probably still play him, maybe just put the camera in a way it only shows his hands rolling and talking then you do all the rest? Or make it funny and put a sheet over him with eye cutouts 👻.
