Not quite sure what happened with the service on your flight, service standard is a full complimentary bar service (beer, wine, spirits, soft drinks, juice, tea and coffee). Also should have been a choice of crisps or Nature Valley cereal bar.
I stand to be corrected but I think the days of complementary bar service in economy are behind us - mores the pity. Thanks for watching
From Flam to Bergen with this cruise boat.Can you see fjords ?Is it slow?
Hi. Thanks for watching. Ultimately if you're in Flåm, then you're perfect fjord country. The first hour / 90 minutes the boat goes fairly slowly and takes in a few sights / waterfalls. After that it speeds up considerably and whilst the sights are pretty, it's pretty much finished with fjords at that point. The remaining journey did drag quite a lot to be honest. Hope that helps.

Hello. In my opinion, first train from Oslo sit on the left. And the journey down into Flam, I'd sit on the right. However both sides do give great views at different time. Thanks for watching and enjoy your trip!
I’ve been on business class to Mexico but it was the old plane , flying business to Rio in a few months and hoping to get the new plane like you did! What plane was it?
Hi. London to Rio was on a pretty ancient Boeing 777 200 - 26 years old as I recall - with the club suite cabin installed about 3 years ago - stood up well though. The better plane was undoubtable the Sao Paulo to Heathrow on the Airbus A350 1000 (video available on that flight) - less than 1 year old that plane - immaculate! Thanks for watching and enjoy Rio!

Please to see a review of B.A.’s Business class to Rio. (pity you didn’t go on to Buenos Aires, best city in S.America). I see they’ve down graded their food and the charging points not working is unacceptable. Confirms my choice having switched to A.F. a few years ago, it would appear they’re still better in every aspect 😊

Thanks! Anything on What Flam was like when you got there? How long did you spend in Flam?
Flåm is very small indeed. We stayed at the Marina for 2 nights and it was pretty good - we ate there both nights, because the other main restaurant in the village didn't have a menu that appealed. There is a supermarket and some museums / shops etc but realistically two days is plenty. The key reason for going of course is the water and we took a boat trip with www.fjordsafari.com/ who I would certainly recommend. We took a leisurely stroll upto the old church, which was maybe 3km each way. There was also a more strenuous trip to see the Brekkefossen waterfall just outside the village. All in all a lovely place to visit and probably the highlight of our trip to Norway.

Hi there. Thanks for your message. We booked via www.vy.no/en/ noting that it has to be within 120 days of travelling. We paid NOK700 (£50) each for Olso to Myrdal in 'Pluss' and NOK510 (£36) each for the Myrdal to Flåm in standard class. Hope this helps!

I would rather stay home than get robbed by BA on a CW flight out of Gatwick. What they charge for these filthy worn-out seats and cabins is an embarrassment to the airline. I wouldn't even waste Avios on them.
The trouble of course is that there's not much choice to some of their destinations. And until the competition is there, there's not much incentive to improve the product...
@@TravelsWithAsh Absolutely, and BA capitalise on that situation. BA IS my go to airline , just not when Gatwick is mentioned as all the worn out old bangers are 'semi-retired' there. Thing is. since almost all passengers on Gatwick aircraft are leisure travellers, BA think they are divi - and can just provide the minimum. I will only fly out of LHR now - in First or CW when the aircraft is configured with the Club Suites.
So why could you not get in the Cathy lounge. Last time I fly BA got into the First class part of Cathy lounge
Capacity problems apparently - they were only allowing Cathay or Finnair passengers entry that day…

State of the art 25 years ago , disgraceful having 8 seats across and having to step over people , unfortunately got this in August from Gatwick .

The stations were truly spotless. Once this train line is up and running to Malaysia and beyond, it could make for a really cool trip for those that don't like to fly. Stay tuned - there will be another train along in about a month or so - different continent but same cleanliness (I hope!).
It is the old Club World business class seating and configuration but I was always happy with it. The BA service has always been impeccable.

Yeah - domestic in the US can be poor value - although I'm booked on a number of internal USA flights over the New Year - including the AA transcon, so stay tuned for some interesting comparisons.

Is business class the same thing as first class? Also, can I recommend an external microphone? It'll help with audio when the camera isn't pointed at you. EDIT: I mean a detached, self-recording lapel microphone.
Not quite - there are a number of genuine 'first class' products out there - think Emirates or Qatar. BA do a first class offering on a small number of routes and are due to roll out their new 1st offering in a few months, but the choice is pretty slim. Fair point on the external mic - the sound has been a problem - should be improved on future flights...
Just travelled with them last week on Biz class. Service is looking good. Room for improvement. Entertainment system was stalling, but end if the day was able to sleep well. After a tired week.
I think the potential is there for them to be a favourite airline of mine - it'll be really interesting to try out their new cabin, which is way overdue!

Judgemental git. That lady's body clock from elsewhere could be 10 PM . Never ever criticise what people eat or drink in an airport lounge and at what time they are doing it.
The Club Suite is definitely a big step up from the old business class. Flying to Singapore in July on an A380 and on to Sydney on a B787. Unfortunately both flights are the old style Club World ☹️ The roll out of the Club Suite seems to be taking for ever.
Depending on which 787 you're on, you might be in luck, but yes - it's really showing its age.
You should add some background music to make the video more interesting.

Very informative.Thanks for posting. I must be in a minority but I actually like the old configuration! If you can get a window seat it’s actually a pleasant and private roomy space and also if you are travelling with a friend or partner then it’s very sociable to be kind of facing each other. Admittedly not so great if you have a stranger next to you but then there is the privacy screen so it’s not a big deal. Also I like the fact that your feet don’t end up in a tunnel as they do in the new suites when the bed is flat. Plenty of room and feet and legs don’t feel restricted. Yes the cabin looks a bit tired but who cares still a thousand times better than horrible economy! Exactly the same service on the old configuration as the new one so all in all its not the big drama most people make it out to be. Just refreshing for me to give the business class service on the old configuration a positive review
