This will be the 1st Civ I've ever skipped. I even still play Beyond Earth now and again but this nonsense is too much for me.

One thing about Tubman, I'm not in the US and I had no idea who Harriet Tubman was before the civ 7 reveal. Civ has always been a little about educating people on other cultures and historical moments and I think picking more obscure leaders actually does achieve that a bit more.

Civ lost its way ages ago. Currently I diagnose them as being in a state of "Gosh this all looks lame" This is a very difficult disease to recover from. Oh, and culture shifting is blindingly stupid. I hate this feature and its implimentation and by itself writes off the entry.

I would pay $60 for a graphical upgrade and a proply intelligent, challenging AI for Civ 6. I don't finish most of my games because they're solved by turn 60 on online speed, often earlier tbh. The AI is just completely worthless at warring ourside of the early game when it has a massive nunbers advantage. It doesn't develop its land properly, it just makes the whole experience so... Empty. And I can only rarely commit the 4-5 hours needed to get a multiplayer game in the competative discord (not to mention the stability issues that plague online play). I have zero confidence this Civ 7 will fix any of these things, and the monetisation is disgusting. Hard no from me unless proven otherwise, and I'm over 1000 hours into Civ 6 despite picking it up quite a long time after launch.

I still hate the idea of changing your civ every era

I don't see civ 7 worth the money invested , also I already have humankind and civ 6 with all dlc , the question that always come up is , is it really worth it just to have better ship and new fighting where I already have total war games for troop combat 🤔

Pretty much identical comments about Amina were flooding comments sections weeks before the Tubman announcement. So, I don't think it is any plot by the Devs. Increasingly, people are choosing to ignore the potential "outrage" of the minority of insecure white guys who seemingly gets offended by something new every hour.

I just can't get behind the Civ Swapping between every age. Extremely counterintuitive to the fantasy that Civ games have been selling for ages. Guess it's another decade of Civ V for me.

cant wait until someone else becomes the leader in the genre. I feel like Civs they moved away from the spirit of the game with 6 and it looks like 7 is the same.

I gotta be honest, I don't know what the market is for the game. Just get literally any paradox game. Its less expensive and its far better.

If the number one issue is players not finishing their games in civ then maybe make the late game a bit more fun, or personally I'd like to just have an option to end my game in the era that I want. For example I'd like to play through stone age, early/ late antiquity, classical era into the medieval era and perhaps into the renesaince as well with the romans or greeks. I don't want my game to go on until every tile on the map is filled with giant death robot units and improvements that barely make a difference in the economy anymore.

Not buying this. Been playing the first.Problems 1. They took out workers. 2. They reduced ages not good . 3.Its woke. 4.I hate Humankind (literally same as this now). etc. The only good thing is the amount of civs.

Players didn’t finish their games because you have to wait 5 minutes for the npcs to finish their turns in the late game.

The game will come out and it will be fine. It will be different and thats okay. I'm also not opposed to leaders being non-political figures, rather just historical figures. I think this will give them much more freedom in leader design space going foward.

Why not choose 5 or 6 american presidents, each one with diferent politics, but only for USA

Age of Empires 3 and 4 have better transition when age up.

I can't belive I say this, but Civ 6 maybe a better options for a long run, maybe until Civ 7 Complete edition.

I am legitimately really worried about this game. I love civilization and have been dreaming about what Civ 7 would be like…. When they revealed what it actually was… I couldn’t have been more disappointed and concerned. I loved civilization six but I was hoping for something that stuck closer to the original formula. As for the Tubman pick - I’m indifferent - there have been a metric ton of leaders who had no political power - and even some that arguably never existed and are mythical figures going back to Civ 2 (Catherine De Medici, Machiavelli, Gilgamesh, Nazca, Dido, Gandhi, Joan D’Arc, Hippolyta) Majority of the completely fabricated ones are actually from Civ 2 but Civ 3,4,5 and 6 had MANY that were never head of state.

I hated city sprawl in Civ 6 and Civ 7 is dialing it up to 11. Ugh.

For me I've been waiting for a civilization builder game that actually lets you create a unique civilization throughout the ages. I don't really enjoy having to pick an already existing civilization and essentially rp as them until I win the game, I want a civilization that actually has to try and grow while being stuck between other civilizations that have the same goal. I liked civ5 when I was younger, it was my first strategy game and made me fall in love with history, and at the time I didn't really care much for building my own civilization, I enjoyed learning about the other countries that exist in the game along with the city states, and then watching yt videos about them later on. Civ6 released, and I eventually got it I believe two years after launch. I had a few gripes, but it was still a civilization game. Over time though, as said I've been waiting for a civilization game that actually let you grow a civilization from scratch rather than choosing a pre-existing one, and I thought civ7 might do that. I was under the impression that beforehand, Civilization didn't let you create from scratch as that was deemed too hard, and the gameplay style would be shifted dramatically to account for everything new that they would need to add. This was before I got a job and learned 70 dollars is a F*CK ton of money, and that its been 7 years since civ6 launched. Bro, they had that much time, and are making us pay 70 on top of an extra possible 100 for DLC for a game that looks like shit, and is legit the same thing they've made 6 times beforehand. I want an actual game, *not a parody of the civilization series*
