‘Friends & Foe’ 😂 CK3’s player numbers are at some of their lowest which is pretty concerning for a game that is a new flagship title. Nevertheless, I think CK3 is charming and still has real potential, which is why some of the recent news surrounding the upcoming DLC has me excited
Have you got a source for your player numbers for CK3 because I have just checked SteamDB and the player number are 18000 which is the same as 2 years, which was 3 months after launch? Also Villains and Vagabonds was themed around Dread.
@@PrimaItalia I referenced sites like SteamDB and it looks like the game is cooling off (The numbers for last week are beginning to dip). The first few months after launch were also fairly similar because there was a stall on the release of the character creator
The ability to play a landless adventurer, mercenary, famed blacksmith, successful merchant, hired assassin, knight under a lord, all have wonderful potential in CK3, especially with further support down the line. Giving the player multiple ways to gain land, whether by stealing, earning, blackmailing or buying it once you are finished adventuring and want to set down roots has so much roleplay and story potential, which this game is all about. I've noticed they are diversifying the artistic backgrounds for landless, wandering characters, leading me to feel that is a sign they are looking in to landless gameplay.
All of this sounds wonderful, but so wonderful that I cannot believe they would do this. Although I do not understand everything about the games system, it does sound like this would involve a complete overhaul, and complexity, which Paradox would not be will to do, or do correctly.
That sounds amazing, but before that they have to: 1, add playable republics 2, flash out horde governments instead of it being just tribal 3, change the islamic government more to its CK 2 version (only the most prestigious son inherits all etc) 4, bring back societies ...All of those are WAY more important then land less gameplay in my opinion. I dont see any other reason, then Paradox greeding this for DLCs to why it hasnt been done yet. Also sending your children away for education should be a thing as well (could be paired with societies, for example sending your child to knights hospitalers for increase in martial and learning etc.) The game has so much potential, but for now its just empty shell of what it could be...thanks to paradox DLC policy. Sigh
@@maxs.5112 not really, they could use a landless title with specific parameters. Similar to head of faith titles who do not have to be landed. A modder successfully did it with ck2 👍
Then you have no idea how life worked in the middle ages. I see this more and more and we keep moving away from a medieval strategy/roleplay game to a faux fantasy historical simulator. I fucking hate it to the bone.
@@Gyc864 rare? It was practicaly Impossible. A peasant could not own land. There were only VERY specific occasions in which a peasant owned his own land. A landless person becomming a baron is already quite impossible unless they were tied to a land owning nobel family. And even then rising from baron to count was already a HUGE step, which was also extremly rare in and of its own. so yeah this original comment person has no clue
@@HansWurst1569 Literally who cares? It’s the rule of cool.Ck2 had fantasy themes in it and it was still a good game.I’d hate for the game to die because you want it to be some ultra realistic medieval simulator completely draining it of anything fun.
Frankly, CK3 needs all three flavor pacts to come out one after the other on the leadup to the next expansion, I don't know what kind of bureaucracy Paradox has now or the size of the team CK3 has now to keep things moving so slowly.
@@4Xtraordinaire IMO, I think that the "holiday breaks" are a good thing, that most companies should adopt, as to stop burnout and such. Maybe they could stagger the people that go on breaks, but I think they deserve them.
@@archersmith328 It would be if productivity increased because of it. If they’re not burned out then how do you explain this lack of originality and effort?
@@4Xtraordinaire A lot of it is also just a Swedish thing as opposed to a internal company thing. I believe that their summer break is a thing that most Swedes do, for example, though I may be wrong
I was irritated by that announcement. They will sell you content packs with minimal content, while Modders put out 1000 new events for free and at a much faster pace with improved mechanics. I also got banned from the community discussions for pointing this out.
Frankly I was offended. How can you justify having all these areas that need work… but only give fans 1/3 of that content? Children, lovers, and family all NEED more flavor. This drip feed is frankly infuriating
I can see that side of the argument, but I am expecting them to put actual effort into the DLC this time instead of phoning it in. I would hate for them to bite off more than they can chew, fuck up all of these features, and never touch them again
@@4Xtraordinaire I am more excited for Elder Kings 2 future mod work and AOT than any new CK3 DLC. Maybe the next big expansion will change my mind! Still putting in hours into the game lol.
They don’t have a big team. PDX is a big company large in part because they make a LOT of games. Essentially they are left with a much smaller team after launch to maintain the game and create new content as people are moved around to work on new games like Age of Mythology, EU5, Hoi5, etc. This is something PDX is willing to do, unfortunately, due to the wonderful modding community they have. Above all, the last flavor pack was fantastic. 5 bucks for a several events, a memory log, two traits, and the frankly insane feud system is totally worth it. In fact that flavor pack has affected my games way more than the much beloved Northern Lord DLC simply because it always applies to everyone no matter where you play.
It's not always easy to code new things into games. There are games where you change one thing the game won't work. Look at team fortress 2. That game has a picture, think it's a pineapple, in the files. If they try to remove it the game won't work.
I want to see the return of the 936 start date. It was my favourite start date in CK2 by far for its plethora of interesting starting scenarios (stuff like Otto, Buyids, Constantine VII, early Fatimids, Erik Bloodaxe, etc.). It also showcased a good balance in power between the three main religious forces in the game (Christianity, Islam, and Paganism), which made the game more dynamic in that all of these religions had strength without being overwhelming in power. I hope that they add it to CK3 at some point.
I'd like to have the ability to take vanquished foes's children as wards, as happened in real life, it feels stupid right now that you just hand over all prisoners when a war ends, realitistically, strategic hostages would be kept to ensure an alliance or peace treaty, it could be a cool negotiation phase, they could implement some kind of minigame like the chess one, where you would roll your skills to negotiate hostages.
I think the wards and wardens dlc is the best honestly I nearly always start as a baby for the most points in character creator and there are alot of new events in the last few weeks like when you execute prisoners as a child with a ward
These are all terrible. I want more fleshed out options for different cultures. I want unique flavours for India and Africa and other places rather than the same feudal or clan count, duke, king stuff that fits with Europe but doesn't feel appropriate elsewhere
@Nimyn The developers usually decide on content packs based off of who plays where. I think at a certain point you become too detached from the crusade aspect when you are in India or China. If anything, they need to consolidate
Mods are the only thing keeping this game alive for me. As fun as flavor packs like the Vikings and Iberia are, they’re not major content expansions, which is what the game needs. What are we, like 2 years in? And it’s still missing so many features that were in CK2. Royal court was good, but the game still needs a lot more done.
I don't think flavor packs and/or further expansions are not the way to go. It feels like they should take the time to 'fix' the base game. An expansion is limited by the quality of the base game. I like ck3 but I think it has a lot of issues.
I think an expansion can also help boost the base game, but the addition needs to actually do something instead of being window dressing. See: Holy Fury
All I want right now is to have to option to mod my game again, I use the Microsoft store version of the game and for the past couple of months the playlist and mod menus on the launcher haven’t been available. Idk why but I hope whatever caused it to disappear gets fixed in the next update, I just wanna play elder kings man!
What they actually NEED to do is release an overhaul DLC called Crusader Kings 3 : T-Rex Edition and let us play as paleothic dinosaurs eating each other and marking territorities in Pangea Earth, that'll shut ALL The complaints once and for all.
I voted for Villains and Vagabonds, but I am just as happy to see awards and Wardens win. Personally I play as Byzantium a lot and one thing I always like to do is act as the guardian for the children of my top vassals so I can mold the future of the realm. This would add a lot of fun to my play through, I’m sure! (Also a major Byzantium dlc would be nice)
@@4Xtraordinaire yeah Byzantium needs to play a lot different than for example an anglo saxon kingdom castration aside, they arent all that much different at the moment - at least bring back viceroyalties
No, Imperial mechanics and the Byzanties should get a mayor free revamp. (Its litteraly not different to playing a kingdom, except the starting empires usually have a different succession)
@@starcobra2575 The Byzantines had extremely different politics to Western Europe, at least during the 9th to 12th centuries that the game focuses on. Emperors frequently came from non-noble backgrounds, and palace politics played a significant role in selecting emperors. There's also the Theme system, their standing army and later reliance on mercenaries, and the fact that their borders were very fluid. Their society did become more traditionally feudal during the 11th century onwards, but even then their politics were more unstable than say France's. A truly different government system is necessary, and it definitely deserves a DLC.
Man, if I could play as a landless character, I'd love to play as Emperor Basil I. He started his life as a peasant, then becoming a stable boy and ended up becoming the co-Emperor before assasinating the other emperor
i remember the content that is prominent in ck2 an not in ck3 which is the mercenary mechanic. i remember making my own mercenary army in ck2. in ck3 i dont even understand the mercenary mechanic. you have different sets of mercenary available for each realm which is weird and confusing.
CK2 still has some basic gameplay logic that is lacking in CK3. Attacking someone's vassal for example. In CK2 both the liege and the vassal would defend that land, in CK3 vassal acts like the war doesn't include them, although their lands are being taken. Other rulers would actually propose marriages, I have yet to witness someone proposing a marriage to me. It's mostly just interaction between npc kingdoms. So many things were present in the former title, but not here. It's like completely different teams worked on them. Also, some of these flavor dlcs are nothing compared to the fan made ones. Which is disheartening.
I definitely want to play as a landless character and work my way up. On the other hand, as a leader, I want to have more direct interaction with my subjects and explore the towns.
We need some *gameplay* content. I don't give a damn about an event pack. I like events, but I want *stuff to do* and goals and projects to work toward. Adventuring would be a solid option, but please let's get the game to the same feature level of CK2 - it has been years and barely seen a thing!
Raising talented children from my own family and in my court is one of my favorite things to do in CK3. It feels really good to have a bunch of 20+ stat councilors after a couple of generations.
honestly poll went exactly as i expected, seduction is fun from a content creater perspective, but every game you have to raise tonnes of rulers. As well the only trees i ever go down are learning, stewardship, and marshal and i would like to see things added to marshal as it does feal a little bland
my issue is i launch a 1 in a lifetime holywar i start winning then a another faith launches a cruasde against me causing my current war to be voided so annoying
This is good communication, but I'm afraid people will just pick dumb stuff. The most popular option is not always the most thought provoking, often the opposite
I wish this game continued all the way up until like the 19th-20th century. Ik this game is centered around the medieval times but going from 867 AD all the way to the gunpowder ages and playing through them would be so fun
It would be cool duno the basic ? Like ia during crusade that work correctly, the mongols/seljuk that are real threat, college of cardinal, maybe theocratic and republic ruler playble also.
Honestly i would like more late game content, there is pretty much nothing to do except blob when you have become a massive empire. (I tried to stay balanced but ended up getting 40k troops). Example: Supply trains, you can use these and assign guards to them (from your own soldiers.) The more guards you assign the more food they will eat from the supply trains though so that having a large army is actually bearable. (Otherwise they die of attrition forcing you to respawn them) although the enemy can attack the supply trains and steal it for themselves along with some gold reward. (Only for large armies, so AI will not build endless supply trains for you to catch during wars if they have a small army that dont need them) Coalitions, other empires and kingdoms if you get to threatening and are near their territory, will form coalitions against you. Also combat being more interesting, perhaps you can command your troops in battles very basically. (Because its not like hoi4 where you have a front-line, you only have to micro 1-3 places) Bunch of more events, maybe if you get stress level 1 you can get mild events for new traits and level 2 severe changes. (as passive events, not due to getting the stress level) as en example for an event. Idk why i commented this here, i just felt like it i guess.
Being able to play as landless sounds fascinating, but I wonder how possible it would be for paradox to pull it off? It sounds like an interesting system to add to ck3, but I think this would involve a complete overhaul to ck, which Paradox might not be will to do, or do correctly. So I have doubt on that ever coming to existence.
I’m not saying the criticisms weren’t justified, but I think the devs were definitely surprised by the backlash, which possibly slowed down the design team. Either way, I think the outcome from all of this was positive
@Bu$$yButcher Nothing but our enjoyment and their profits are at stake. If they were truly interested in turning this game around, they’d look within their development team. It should never get to the point where you have to directly probe your community for your next DLC. That’s a clear sign they’re grasping for something they are clearly missing within the team
@@teckno3025 This does smell of desperation, however I do appreciate a more direct approach of reaching out to the community. They shouldn't rely on fans for everything, but it feels like no one has had a say since Holy Fury. I miss the feel of the game during the height of CK2 where everything felt like a tight knit community
I think adventuring and mercenaries have a lot of potential. A lot of traditions make historical sense but have little game-play value because those mechanics aren't build out very well for players to use
They're charging 30$ for an expansion, and 5$ for the small content packs, and the base game is 50$. So you're telling me an expansion, and 3 small packs that always end up worse than free mods, are worth 45$, almost the value of a full game? Something doesn't add up, and that something is value. Those small packs should either be included in the expansion, or free covered by the price of the game. I know I ain't wrong. Their job as a producer is to sell me less for more, and my job as a customer is to get more for less, and at this point, it seems like 45$ more will be nowhere near buying me what would otherwise be the value of the whole game, sitting at 50$.
The fans never win when it comes to Paradox. Games practically empty on launch, the release of 15+ DLCs to make each game complete (and drain your wallet - especially with some DLCs heavily overpriced) and the general buggy mess of said DLCs go to show how fans don't win.
Any form of more autonomy in the decision making process for DLC is a win. I can’t imagine if they released something like love and lust without polling people
@@4Xtraordinaire I believe they would, given how the friends & foes DLC was made. My criticism is more in relation to what appears to be their policy of releasing games with little content, and giving it the expected content over 2-3 years to actually make it "complete".
I find the education system a little weird. Sure its generally even driven but say you chuck your child on Learning, they roll all Learning traits and they turn 16... Level 2 Martial Trait and 15 Martial and 11 Learning How? Why? Like what?
There's no way a love and lust expansion will ever satisfy horny people, this game is pegi 12-16 (depending on the country). There's absolutely now ay the game would be as interesting this way as any existing horny mod can already make it to be. Like voting for such an expansion is just a waste of our time when waiting for an interesting expension.
"The fans won" Yes the ability to choose between dlc-s, that easily could have been just a free update content, is an epic victory. They will cry when we pay for all that.
No, because CK3 has been on the backburner ever since friends and foes. Being forced to actually reach out to the community to get a consensus on the next steps forward is a positive sign, even if the game is faltering
I think they should allow modding on consoles. I would pay a lot of money for modders to make maps from other games like a Witcher map, elder scrolls, middle earth, or even create your own map and nations.
Idk if I’d even call these “dlc”, they come across more as updates. Not gonna lie I barely feel the difference of playing with friends and foes other than getting an annoying pop up that someone’s family wants to murder mine every once in awhile. Also how is it at all surprising that a community filled with incels would vote for villainy over cuckolding😂😂 probably hits too close to home for most.
I just resently started playing CK3. Even without any DLCs I can see the potential and I love the style. That said it also feels like a ground floor of what the game can and should become! The gameplay is pretty barren after your first 20-30 hours of playing this game. Now when I somewhat understand the mechanics the game becomes much more predictable and as playing it becomes routine.
I feel like these different 'content packs' are just Paradox's attempt to monetize things that *should* be released through patch updates. It's frustrating because the game lacks a lot of flavor and this feels like Paradox trying to steer towards the way of microtransactions like other gaming studios. We have to pay for expansions that are just another revenue stream to complete a game that they released as incomplete. That's the track record for all of their titles. Can't help but feel like they're riding a tired business model of releasing content for games that aren't ready at launch so that they are kept alive for far too long (like EU4).
How about 2 DLC's 1. Merchant Republic and other government types? or let us create our own with our own traditions and rules? Like maybe we wanna go for a merchant republic with the Norse and have a Trade Route that the player can use to make more money and even build and create your own trade routes? So like for example lets say you play as Bjorn Ironside from Sweden right? lets say hypothetically theres a small county in Wessex whose a merchant republic? well what if you were to sway and offer up events to earn a trade route to said county as a way to make more money? which could open opportunities for more things to be added like maybe trade gold for supplies? that way if you have lets say 5000 men in Uppland and normally you have lets say 2500 supplies? well it'd add more to it to help or something I am not the best with these ideas 2. Societies like the warrior lodges and occult socities? it'd add more to the Witch trait and possible allow for more events and possibilities to be found out and the warrior lodges can help you get better commanders possibly for a reduced amount of perstiege? or maybe it can help you get specific traits that are a bit more difficult to get? basically CK2 stuff added in CK3 is the short version of this but if anyone wants to add more ideas or whatever please do
@@jayc1139 Somewhat yeah like I mentioned I wasn't really good at coming up with ideas but still I think the idea given is still intriguing in of itself given it can add more to the gameplay that's already there
How about a flavor pack that encompass all three of those subjects? Or a dlc that combine more than one regional/cultural flavor? Stuff like the royal court should've been expanded to tribal kingdoms and theocratic, republic and nomadic governments playable from the start just like ck2 or simple mod expansions. In all honesty the only reason I bought this game is for the awaited AGOT mod
Example: in CK3 when you wanna imprison that dude that cucked you and created a bastard in your dynasty and after that revolted against you took years to kill that revolt, only for me not being able to throw him in jail cause my player character is Forgiving and it would cause me massive amounts of stress to do so. and if it was 10 stress okay... But 80-90 stress because i wanna imprison this scrourge upon my family and realm? FUCK OFF That isn't fun role playing, thats just retarded if you ask me.
I forgot to vote but I would have cited for Wards and Wardens. I always play with 3 or 4 education and personality oriented mods like House Traditions and More Personality Events for Children and there is always jank to be had with mods. I’m happy to see an official, less janky version of these things. Though I do wish PDX would put a bigger team on CK3. Ideally I would love to see 2 or 3 major expansions. 2 or 3 DLCs and 3 to 5 flavor packs per year and that will never happen without a bigger team. PDX will kill CK3 way before the community does if they’re not on top of promoting, supporting, and expanding the game.
Tbh I think the New dlc may bring the societies but I wouldn't be against a landless dlc. Also I wish villains and vagabonds won as I don't care much for my kids
Secret Societies was one of the best CK2 expansions for espionage and religious minority gameplay in regions like Persia. Aside from the satanists it was always relevant
@@4Xtraordinaire tbh I never had any dlc for ck2 buuut I loved the idea of societies plus if we ever get a societies dlc we may not have the satanists since they're trying to be more realistic
"That is a bit funny"? You do realize the incest and cuckoldry jokes were popularized by a tiny minority of players and most of us want a somewhat coherent medieval rulership simulator?
@@4Xtraordinaire That they did. And that's why they're getting the votes they're getting now. We need strong fundamentals, not memes. Memes can come later.
They made so much cash. They should be putting way more content out. These small pack should be out every 3 months and there should be at least larger pack twice a year. The game was hyped on the the system they had built that they could add more content at quicker pace.
Maybe I will give this game another try. I played for like a thousand happy hours while waiting patiently for the Royal Court, then when it came out I hated it so much I haven’t played since.
Oof. Sorry to hear. For me, enjoyment grounded to a halt when my character was reduced to a single village. Now, I'm not very good at the game, so obviously that's a factor. But I figured there would still be something I could get out of being a lowly vessel. But, after sitting in front of my pc for over an hour with the speed set to MAX... I called it quits. Because nothing happened. No event. No battle I could partake in. Maybe this was a one in a million circumstance. Idk. But I think I'll get more enjoyment from Norland when that comes out.
i must say the previous dlc wasn't a bad idea but was executed terribly, same can be said for HOI4's By Blood Alone, Community wanted a peace deal rework and air rework but they ended up making these issues WORSE not better, which is what concerns me going forward.
CK3 is a beautiful game but AI randomness is really disgusting many times. I think they should add more scripted events for historical accuracy like saladin and others
CK2’s biggest strength (IMO) was the ability to let the character weave events that seemed like they could fit in with real world history, with a bit of fiction sprinkled in. Of course, there were a lot of zany events scattered throughout, but. CK3 really needs to find a balance and an identity that isn’t just CK2’s successor
This game fundamentally needs more uniqueness between regions. I really enjoyed the Iberian flavour pack, and I do really want them to double down on unique regional mechanics in a similar manner to EU4. The Byzantine Empire, for example, had a very different political system to Western European feudalism that isn't properly represented currently. It's not a true Byzantine experience without constant revolts, after all. Regional packs also allow the game to better simulate historical events. Currently the game is overly rigid in a lot of systems like war and claims. This is a legacy of CK2, and the game has admittly improved upon it with things like the cultural rework, but certain historical events are very unlikely because of it. The Turkish conquest of Anatolia, Guiscard's invasion of Epiros, Otto's formation of the HRE, Sviatoslav's conquests, the Ghurid invasion of India, and of course the Black Death are rare if they even are simulated. Even if it's a game about writing your own history, there needs to at least be a strong possibility of the events to happen if this game is to actually live up to its goal of simulating medieval history. Maybe I'm just too much of a history nerd, but this does truly bother me. This issue can be readily solved by cultural packs, which have allowed things like local interfaith marriage and Viking adventures, which certainly were significant aspects of life during this period. Again, the game is getting better in this aspect, but there's always room for improvement. (Sorry for the essay, lol)
The fans really didn't win. Nobody wants these small event packs. They just suger coated this as you have a choice. We want bigger mechanical DLCs. They made the DLCs more expensive at 13+ euros so they can give these small shitty DLCs
Maybe it isn't fair to expect the same amount of content that was put out for CK2 after 2 and a half years, but I've been so disappointed so far. I know the base game of CK3 is on another level compared to what CK2 was, but it feels like they still haven't added ANYTHING to the game that has made a big difference.
TL;DR: Had CK3 since launch but hardly played (less than 20 hours) until Elder Kings 2 came out because the game was feeling stale and modders give out far more content for free and consistently than Paradox does. And Paradox's dlc practices are some of the worst in the industry and having us choose what dlc will nickel and dime us is hardly an improvement to giving us a Russian roulette of dlc. Their dlcs (especially the minor event packs that they are so fond of) should either come out for free as updates or injected into the larger expansions. I’ve had CK3 since launch and got all the DLCs (except the Friends and Foes one) but I’ve barely put anytime into the game. The thing that brought me back was Elder Kings 2. Why? Because I am a huge Elder Scrolls fan, I think paradox should try their hand at a fantasy grand strategy because real world does get stale when that’s all they’ve been doing this whole time (except Stellaris), there are more systems at the player’s disposal, and the modders aren’t going to nickel and dime me for every piece of meaningful (or even less meaningful) content like paradox does. That last one is most important. I mean let’s face it, every paradox strategy game (with a decent lifespan) eventually gets enough dlc to cost the amount of a AAA collector’s edition of a game ($100) and sometimes it costs triple that to get all the dlcs. The expansions I can understand selling at a price (if it can be a lil steep) but the lesser stuff could’ve and should’ve been added with an update. Things like in game models, clothing, events, or culture specific updates (like the Vikings) don’t need to be $5- $10 but should be free or added into the expansions. EA may be the most infamous for their monetization practices but Paradox may be the worst in regards to dlc. And giving us the choice won't change that fact. We are just choosing on what flavor of disappointment we're getting. These three "dlcs" should instead be bundled together as an update to the game or implemented into an expansion. Not only because it adds more content to a game that feels like is growing stale and has a hard time competing with the modding scene, but also because that way everyone will use the added content. Wards and Wardens may have won the vote but that means ppl with a preference for seduction are left out as well as the martial ppl. And some don't want the challenge of being a child ruler in fact, most will try to avoid it because you are at such a disadvantage. So at most, players will experience half of the dlc regularly where we educate children rather than being one. Chances are players will start a game as a child ruler to experience the new content, experience it once in that playthrough and may not come into contact with the child ruler stuff for a long time if ever again. But if it was bundled with the seduction and martial stuff than the player experiences all of it multiple times throughout their playthrough. As a disclaimer: CK3 was the first Paradox strategy game I really put time into. I technically had CK2 and Stellaris (console) before it, but for various reasons I dropped those games early. Now I'm thinking of going back to CK2 to see if I like it but the number of dlcs for that game and the fact that there are literal guides of what dlcs are worth it and many equate to (well you decide) tells me that the dlcs are really hit or miss when many of them could've just been added into the expansions as additional content, bundled together, or just updated to the game. As for Stellaris, even when it and the game are 75% off you're still looking at a cost that's about the amount of a full priced game it's ridiculous. Thanks for coming to my TED talk. Rant over EDIT: Grammar, additional information, and a TL;DR. And I had to rewrite this because RUclips is dumb and so am I, and accidently reverted the comment to its initial response. Not that any of you care this comment will be buried in no time. If you did however make it this far into the ramblings and ravings of some random dude on the internet I just want to say: "Hi."
I thought CK3 would be dead because of the lack of content (other than mods). I am better off playing something else rather than play ck3 now. Might come back to it later, maybe 3 or 4 years later.
I wanted to see wards and wardens implemented simply because we need a regency system. If a regency system doesn't get implemented with wards and wardens it will not be worth buying and will be a massive disappointment. It's absolutely horrible that CK3 doesn't have a regency system, it's literaly one of the most important parts of the medieval court system...
Things CK3 needs: - More subtlety in regards to trait interaction, for instance in CK2 final patches they added that if a female with drunkard trait gives birth, it will lead to the baby being born with major negative trait, usually stupid or imbecile, that made the player to choose partner carefully . There were numerous similar interactions but I have to go back and check for more. - The artifact system is boring, the only truly visible artifacts are the court items which, apart from few, all look the same and weapons which also look the same regardless of the quality, I want to see the cool regalia, crowns, brooches etc. on my player made visibly distinct enough when you see them on the model you feel a sense of accomplishment, no point in 3D models if they do jack with them. - Few minor court positions actually worth it, so no change there from CK2. - Holding court is useless, too few events that repeat at perpetuum, I have to forbid every physician I take rob graves, some surveys, cartography, nothing interesting, add more event with actual consequences. - For some ungodly reason confederate partition exists, get rid of it for feudal realms. A feudal medieval realm didn't spontaneously explode upon succession, what a stupid decision. - Endgame is a slog, no interesting events if you build everything and research everything there is nothing to do, in addition if your dynasty is too big and you have large army the game starts to lag like crazy due to too many simultaneous interactions so even the conquering is out of the picture at some point, add more endgame events. - I liked the anachronistic and supernatural events in CK2, the Aztec inversion and the devil worshiping stuff added another layer to the gameplay, they should have being kept in the game from the start and expanded. - The combat is boring, add more to it, get rid of the automatic fleet embarkment or at least make so that you have to research something in order to have all your units to be able to go naval, an naval combat mechanic would also be welcome, as it now if two fleets meet at see they just shout insults at each other and their separate ways. Piracy, weather events like storms that destroy part of your ships, etc. would also be welcome. - Speaking of weather, some famines, droughts, floods, earth quakes, hell even a volcano eruptions, the natural disasters could prove an excellent curveballs to the players.
‘Friends & Foe’ 😂
CK3’s player numbers are at some of their lowest which is pretty concerning for a game that is a new flagship title.
Its because of their stubborness to only keep the 2 dates as playable dates... while not giving us others... so people are already bored now.
@@nickdentoom1173 there is also little depth, every game ends the same
@@nickdentoom1173 Maybe if they could make an achievement exception for start date mods... I like the 769 start date myself.
Play bannerlord my friend
RtP by mightnight for ck2 look it up. Would be great if PDX would implement it to ck3
I would love starting landless and then working my way up to a count or baron.
Then you have no idea how life worked in the middle ages. I see this more and more and we keep moving away from a medieval strategy/roleplay game to a faux fantasy historical simulator. I fucking hate it to the bone.
@@HansWurst1569 It's rare for a peasant to rise during those times.
@@HansWurst1569 Unlanded =/= peasant. You can be an unlanded nobleman, that's how I imagine this would work
Frankly, CK3 needs all three flavor pacts to come out one after the other on the leadup to the next expansion, I don't know what kind of bureaucracy Paradox has now or the size of the team CK3 has now to keep things moving so slowly.
I think the backlash from the last content pack scared them to a degree. That, and Paradox loves holiday breaks, which doesn’t help out at all
@@4Xtraordinaire IMO, I think that the "holiday breaks" are a good thing, that most companies should adopt, as to stop burnout and such. Maybe they could stagger the people that go on breaks, but I think they deserve them.
@@archersmith328 It would be if productivity increased because of it.
If they’re not burned out then how do you explain this lack of originality and effort?
@@archersmith328 No one said they didn’t deserve breaks, but their timing in general is very poor
Yeah, probably for tbe better that you got banned
@@fabriziocossio3336

I Agree.. That is the sad side of CK3 team 😖
I read it as all of this content will eventually make it into the game, just voted on which the community wanted first.
I want the ability to play as a landless mercenary.
These are all terrible. I want more fleshed out options for different cultures. I want unique flavours for India and Africa and other places rather than the same feudal or clan count, duke, king stuff that fits with Europe but doesn't feel appropriate elsewhere
Something tells me most of the eastern regions don’t see that much gameplay
@@4Xtraordinaire Because nothing happens there. Give me more unique mechanics, decisions, dynasty legacies, anything.
@Nimyn The developers usually decide on content packs based off of who plays where. I think at a certain point you become too detached from the crusade aspect when you are in India or China. If anything, they need to consolidate
@Nimyn africa is boring. Asia, I agree could be interesting.
Dude xbox doesn’t even have royal court yet 🙁
TS4 energy, tbh
All I want right now is to have to option to mod my game again, I use the Microsoft store version of the game and for the past couple of months the playlist and mod menus on the launcher haven’t been available.
Idk why but I hope whatever caused it to disappear gets fixed in the next update, I just wanna play elder kings man!
What they actually NEED to do is release an overhaul DLC called Crusader Kings 3 : T-Rex Edition and let us play as paleothic dinosaurs eating each other and marking territorities in Pangea Earth, that'll shut ALL The complaints once and for all.
These seem more like patches rather than dlcs...
That’s a valid criticism, but at this point I’ll take what I can get. This expansion needs to hit it out of the park
Byzantium only getting a content pack would be criminal
@@4Xtraordinaire yeah Byzantium needs to play a lot different than for example an anglo saxon kingdom
castration aside, they arent all that much different at the moment - at least bring back viceroyalties
@@BloodRider1914 im saying this game lacks so much content, locking it behind a paywall doesnt help.
Man, if I could play as a landless character, I'd love to play as Emperor Basil I. He started his life as a peasant, then becoming a stable boy and ended up becoming the co-Emperor before assasinating the other emperor
I just want the College of Cardinals in CK3. Make the Papacy a site of struggle and competition.
i remember the content that is prominent in ck2 an not in ck3 which is the mercenary mechanic. i remember making my own mercenary army in ck2. in ck3 i dont even understand the mercenary mechanic. you have different sets of mercenary available for each realm which is weird and confusing.
Merc units are mostly too small to justify their cost in my opinion.
@@Baldricksturnip AI marriage proposal to players is intentionally removed in ck3 and i think devs mentioned this but not sure..
I definitely want to play as a landless character and work my way up. On the other hand, as a leader, I want to have more direct interaction with my subjects and explore the towns.
good because 2 years on since ck3's release, I'm back to playing ck2 for my fix. Can't wait for 3 to become a full game after 8 more years dlc
I want East Asia! Hiw have we not gotten China and Japan yet?
We need some *gameplay* content. I don't give a damn about an event pack. I like events, but I want *stuff to do* and goals and projects to work toward. Adventuring would be a solid option, but please let's get the game to the same feature level of CK2 - it has been years and barely seen a thing!
Raising talented children from my own family and in my court is one of my favorite things to do in CK3. It feels really good to have a bunch of 20+ stat councilors after a couple of generations.
Great video bud, have been looking for a video about the dlcs but yours got recommend so based.
Add total war battles...that would be amazing.
honestly poll went exactly as i expected, seduction is fun from a content creater perspective, but every game you have to raise tonnes of rulers. As well the only trees i ever go down are learning, stewardship, and marshal and i would like to see things added to marshal as it does feal a little bland
my issue is i launch a 1 in a lifetime holywar i start winning then a another faith launches a cruasde against me causing my current war to be voided so annoying
Wards and warden is easily the best one. I’m not always seducing or running an intrigue character but i am always raising a child
Are we eventually gonna get the other 2, they still sound interesting.
I think Villains and Vagabonds could make sense put together with Love and Lust
i'd like to see a DLC where we get the rest of the map in Asia unlocked
There's a mod that adds the rest of Asia in, and it's enormous. The game is way too big as it s and the majority of the regions have no content.
Well then you would get stelaris lag experience in ck3
How do I give my feed back
This is good communication, but I'm afraid people will just pick dumb stuff. The most popular option is not always the most thought provoking, often the opposite
Why can't we get all 3 of them?
I wish this game continued all the way up until like the 19th-20th century. Ik this game is centered around the medieval times but going from 867 AD all the way to the gunpowder ages and playing through them would be so fun
Then you wouldn’t have to buy all of their other games
@@4Xtraordinaire i get why they won’t ever do it but one could still dream
(Only for large armies, so AI will not build endless supply trains for you to catch during wars if they have a small army that dont need them)
Coalitions, other empires and kingdoms if you get to threatening and are near their territory, will form coalitions against you.
Also combat being more interesting, perhaps you can command your troops in battles very basically. (Because its not like hoi4 where you have a front-line, you only have to micro 1-3 places)
Bunch of more events, maybe if you get stress level 1 you can get mild events for new traits and level 2 severe changes.
There is no such thing as an overreaction from the community. Any reaction from the masses is justified, the game logic is just not present.
I’m not saying the criticisms weren’t justified, but I think the devs were definitely surprised by the backlash, which possibly slowed down the design team. Either way, I think the outcome from all of this was positive
Communities can overreact. This goes for any community, not just video games.
Can we finally vendor trash artifacts? I mean, can we?
When is it coming out?
Level 2 Martial Trait and 15 Martial and 11 Learning
How? Why?
"The fans won"
Yes the ability to choose between dlc-s, that easily could have been just a free update content, is an epic victory. They will cry when we pay for all that.
No, because CK3 has been on the backburner ever since friends and foes. Being forced to actually reach out to the community to get a consensus on the next steps forward is a positive sign, even if the game is faltering
@@4Xtraordinaire You are right about that, it's a good thing that they reach out. I just feel like that in ck2 these would have been free content.
Martial focus definitely needs a flushing out but I think the game would be more fun in general with the wards and wardens dlc
I think they should allow modding on consoles. I would pay a lot of money for modders to make maps from other games like a Witcher map, elder scrolls, middle earth, or even create your own map and nations.
I think it would be cool as a lord that you could set up mercenaries to go earn money for you.
Crusader kings will keep its following, but hopefully it stays living long enough for the ASOIAF mod
I think they’ve proven that they can put in effort for content packs like Fate of Iberia, but I can’t say for certain until we’ve seen the next 2 DLC
How about 2 DLC's
1. Merchant Republic and other government types? or let us create our own with our own traditions and rules? Like maybe we wanna go for a merchant republic with the Norse and have a Trade Route that the player can use to make more money and even build and create your own trade routes? So like for example lets say you play as Bjorn Ironside from Sweden right? lets say hypothetically theres a small county in Wessex whose a merchant republic? well what if you were to sway and offer up events to earn a trade route to said county as a way to make more money? which could open opportunities for more things to be added like maybe trade gold for supplies? that way if you have lets say 5000 men in Uppland and normally you have lets say 2500 supplies? well it'd add more to it to help or something I am not the best with these ideas
2. Societies like the warrior lodges and occult socities? it'd add more to the Witch trait and possible allow for more events and possibilities to be found out and the warrior lodges can help you get better commanders possibly for a reduced amount of perstiege? or maybe it can help you get specific traits that are a bit more difficult to get?
basically CK2 stuff added in CK3 is the short version of this but if anyone wants to add more ideas or whatever please do
Number 1 sounds curious, since it sounds like the ''first inklings'' of a ''Hanseatic League'' if you will.
@@jayc1139 Somewhat yeah like I mentioned I wasn't really good at coming up with ideas but still I think the idea given is still intriguing in of itself given it can add more to the gameplay that's already there
The Elder Scrolls mod still blows all of this out of the water.
I mean
For love and lust, we already have something for that

Ck2 is the game where you can RPG how you want.
Ck3 is the game where you can RPG how the game wants you too.
FUCK OFF
That isn't fun role playing, thats just retarded if you ask me.

They made so much cash. They should be putting way more content out. These small pack should be out every 3 months and there should be at least larger pack twice a year. The game was hyped on the the system they had built that they could add more content at quicker pace.
When is CK2 dlc gonna be free?
Paradox? DLC? Free?
Of course the two I was actually interested in lost.
i know them r34 mfs would be tryna to bombard those Love and Lust votes
CK3 is a beautiful game but AI randomness is really disgusting many times. I think they should add more scripted events for historical accuracy like saladin and others
CK2’s biggest strength (IMO) was the ability to let the character weave events that seemed like they could fit in with real world history, with a bit of fiction sprinkled in. Of course, there were a lot of zany events scattered throughout, but. CK3 really needs to find a balance and an identity that isn’t just CK2’s successor
Can they please just take a hint and loon at the whole ass game they already made

I would like to see some major content enter the game. As it is, it’s just not as fun as CK2 with everything on it.
I think love and lust is already well developed and ck3 players know that
I play Ps5 all I have is the Northern Lords Pack 😭
The fans really didn't win. Nobody wants these small event packs. They just suger coated this as you have a choice. We want bigger mechanical DLCs. They made the DLCs more expensive at 13+ euros so they can give these small shitty DLCs

Thank you! I’ve been playing around a lot with adobe premiere and OBS recently so I greatly appreciate the feedback
Fuck I hate picking for shit like this!!! We don’t know what exactly will be added specifically with each theme.
Rant over
EDIT: Grammar, additional information, and a TL;DR.
Imagine a game between ck3 and M&B 2: Bannelord, would be great instead
still waiting for the china map expansion tho lol
Things CK3 needs:
- More subtlety in regards to trait interaction, for instance in CK2 final patches they added that if a female with drunkard trait gives birth, it will lead to the baby being born with major negative trait, usually stupid or imbecile, that made the player to choose partner carefully .
This is pathetic of Paradox. Just release them all.
RELEASE THE GARRISON!
I just want to play in feudal Japan. (i know there is a mod)
