Elephants Warwar, Kina and Kyan love to swim in the rain.
Like all elephants 32 year old grandma Warwar and her grandkids Kina (4,5 years old ) and Kyan (1,5 year old) love to swim when it's raining. Maurice (13 years old) is hesitates and decides not to go in.
In the end I had to stop filming because my lens was getting wet, but you don't have to mis much as they'd had enough.

Two weeks ago new bull Maurice arrived at the zoo in Amersfoort, today was the 4th day of his introduction to the herd. The ladies are still very on guard, due to bad experiences with the previous bull. Matriarch Warwar and granddaughter Kina have had contact with Maurice, but Indra takes her duty to protect her son Kyan very seriously and runs/walks away as soon as Maurice comes towards them. ...

When the elephants were let in to their indoor accommodation today the keepers had a surprise for them, a little horizontal fountain in their pool. Four year old Kina and her one year old brother Kyan couldn't get enough of playing with it.

On his first birthday little elephant Kyan was enjoying playing with 'uncle' Chamundi. Until big sister Kina found out. She tried to push her little brother away, afraid Chamundi might hurt him. But the harder she pushed..... In the end Kyan gives up, but it took a while. ;-)

Today male elephant Chamundi was allowed to enjoy the much bigger enclosure of de herd, the ladies had to make do with his much smaller enclosure. Chamundi clearly enjoyed himself. Chamundi lives in the zoo in Amersfoort in the Netherlands.
