if this car is equipped with a seven-speed gearbox, it will consume fuel within 6 liters on the highway and 10 liters in the city
Why it has a limp mode at 100 mph ?
Fuel usage of 12 - 14 litres is normal, how do you get 10litres per hundred?

Yes, there are more diesel ones than petrol in Nz. The prices have gone nuts tho. When I bought this in 2007, I only paid $14k for it, which was about right for the kms (270k). A nice low km one is around 40k now. Are they worth a lot in Aussie?
@ yes the prices are very high. I paid 30 grand for one that had 350,000 km on the clock. The price has dropped a little bit since I bought it about 24 months ago, however, they are still pretty high. I think because now people knows how reliable the engine is they will continue to keep their value.

Hey Sean. Just wanted to say thanks for posting this, I utilized it while installing my steel fuel lines - amongst other things. Your video made it so easy.
Glad it helped. My steel pipes have wear marks in them, I should have changed them as well.

The 82.80 dozer looked and sounded spot on. I'll bet they we're a pig to work on! I worked for Blackwood Hodge in the UK for over 20 years and loved the Terex equipment. Was that an S6 the truck front pulling a bottom dump?
Nice video mate thank you for posting. I just did the intake clean and EGR block on my '02 - the intake was an absolute mess, so good to get it done. The injector replacement looks a bit more complicated though...
@@chessimate it’s not too much of a big deal if you are taking the inlet manifold off. Have u considered a non egr part to replace the factory egr. Mine in factory non egr and as u could see from the video, the inlet manifold stays clean. My mate has a 1HD FT cruiser, non egr, his has done 1.3 million kms and is still clean.
@@seanlittlefair105 yep I noticed how clean it was, looked amazing. Yep I used a blanking plate on the exhaust manifold to block off the EGR so it should all stay clean now. I am really liking how much more responsive the motor is. I will give the injector replacement a try 👍
@@chessimateone thing I have noticed is that the vehicle has a slight stumble at idle. I think this is due to the pump being worn ( it’s a rebuilt pump not a brand new one) and the injectors set at max values for psi. Might pay to talk to your injector man first. However, the power and economy is great.

@@barrieprice7073 I had to replace the speedo at around 570k. The replacement speedo was 300k different. I didn’t have time to get it corrected, hence the differing info.

Have you got an ETI pump?
The test light will not provide enough current to operate the valve. You have a lamp in series with the circuit, so trying to test the valve with this won't work. You need to apply 12 V to the valve but don't leave it connected. Just tap it - tap tap tap tap on the contact and it should click click click click.

@@Rubibi-saltwaterjim try wiggling the wires and that plug. Try wiggling the spill valve wires as well. Good luck.
I had the same steering wheel on my old Austin FX4, though I got it off a Rover ! It is on splines, so easy to put straight. Someone has had the wheel off and not lined things up right.

Mechanical Governor DPA injector pumps are only way to go. Run at any angle from horizontal to vertical and no known speed limit.

The tractor at the end of this video was the one I was asking you questions about. It was the gauze filter inside the fuel tank shutoff tap. Goes well not, but she is a bit Smokey.
It should click when power on and off. There should be a lowish, maybe very approximately 30 ohm reading across the coil. In my Hilux the ecu controls the spill valve with a variable pulse operation that somehow controls the fuel flow to the cylinders. How it actually works is a Denso secret! And Toyota hasn't, as usual, got a f clue!
And with CAV fuel filters the two square section o-rings are different sizes and the larger one should have a white/blue or yellow stripe on it and always goes into the top housing. Your injector pump in this is a mechanical governor. The piece on the bottom is the advance/retard unit. DPA pumps like that are brilliant units. Rebuild 100's of them a year.
Thanks for the info. Do the cav pumps have a gauze type filter running to the governor or is all the filtering done at the two filters. My friends MF tractor is showing signs of running out of fuel with a brush hog on the back. If it’s not fuel supply, we will try the pump and injectors.
@@seanlittlefair105 All CAV DPA style pumps have a very fine mesh plastic gauze filter at the rear of the pump under the 15/16 hex adaptor plug where fuel goes into the pump. Can be removed in place easily with a ball tipped tool like dentists use unless you have another one to go in then a sharp pick can be used, but take care as sumtimes the pressure regulating valve may be lifted out with it. Clean with Brakleen or similar. If its torn or has holes discard it.
Rough running can be injectors. Check to see if the banjo bolts holding the fitti gs to the pump that the injector pipes on look like a standard hexheaded bolt or are the much longer valve type. If they are the longer ones then sumtimes the tension/roll pin inside it can start to move out of the bolt and you lose the non-return effect of the valve. If they have jusy tap back in until flush. Remove side door of plate held on by two 8mm / 5/16 headed screws and make sure its not full of water too. If it is the advance retard piston being at the lowest point can and does seize normally in full retard. And endure that the fuel return does not go back into the filter regardless if its factory plumbed or not. You pump snything and you aerate it. Take fuel return straight back to tank.

@@matui6983 btw, we found the problem with the MF 135. Fixed it today, was the gauze filter in the fuel tank shut off tap. Replaced that and it runs well now.

they race these bloody things at goodward and there as fast as a modified mustang of 64 to 68 era. get rid of that gauge, it will slice your knee off if someone runs into you or you smash. and you cant read it from there unless you take your eyes off the road.

@@WebsterGroves09 I changed the brake fluid and it has not happened since. I’m off to the mountains this week and they are predicting snow, so that should be the real test. It only made the noise when it was very cold outside.

How much can the tractor lift
According to the book, around 1500 lbs. That seems excessive and I haven’t been able to test it as one of the hydraulic rams has a seal leak. It will lift a full bucket of wet soil, but needs weight in the rear to counter balance. Pretty good little machines for what they are.

Mine was a wire, not the spill valve. I should have taken it to an auto sparky, but they were flat out for weeks..

This a great video, I have a 100 series 4.2, it was driving fine, parked up, then the morning after, would not start, not even try, I checked everything, and no fuel coming out of the injector pipes at the pump, so I swap the injector pump, it cam complete with the spill valve and still has no injection out when I loosen pipes, the spill valve is working.

Oi, Im on this same task, on an 89 front axles are toast cuz the PO did zed maintenance, I got the quad in a trade, knew it was clapped out but it had brand new tyres, seat and the motor once tuned runs surprisingly well.

Can driver spill valve control be repaired?
Not that I am aware. Deisel experts just say to replace it. Might be work taking apart and trying if yours is faulty?
