Bo Bichette is BACK! Will He Be Able To Return To His Superstar Form? | Blue Jays vs Rangers
I’m leaning away from 3B. Wagner 2B, Clement at 3B. Horwitz won’t be on the team and definitely not at 2B. LF and DH are the power bat spots 2/3B go to Orelvis, Clement, Wagner imo.
15:45 uhhh Ross literally said power is low hanging fruit, we want all around good hitters who don’t strike out a ton and hit both lefties and righties
They want Soto, and (big) if, they can convince him to come here, then I don't think spending on additional talent will be a problem for the team. Atleast withen the window of Soto's first opt out. Rogers made 6b in 2023 and they already tried to spend it on Ohtani.. They luckily didnt chase FAs that wouldn't have made a difference - setting up for another run. If they miss Soto, then they likely see it as irresponsible to try and patch holes with inevitable 'Springer' types.. It could be an off-season of aiming for the moon to start, but by January, the plan could change...
They can't afford Soto he at least wants $500-600 million!
@@kturetsky I'm sure they would make an exception for a decade-long run, or less. He was different, but they attempted to spend large on Ohtani, preparing themselves to face the luxury tax for years . Hopefully there is a plan that puts that faith into Soto. There's not another player for a while who offers that cornerstone ability. It's a massive commitment - if they can pull it off. The lack of action Last off-season makes sense if this ended up being their plan...(well, not the sub par season)
give the money to bo and vlady period ps how you guys doing
They will pay him! And doing really good Paul! Thanks for the comments, love hearing from you!
Is Tyler Heineman the plan for the backup catcher next year? That's also quite concerning
That looks to be the plan, gotta hope Kirk has a good year, I can’t see them spending to much for a backup catcher
They should get Trevor bauer at least on a minor league deal, he can still pitch & would cost nexta nothing!
He’s a controversial guy but he is very good, I just don’t think at this point he will ever be back
They should start by getting Trevor Bauer he can still pitch & would cost nexta nothing!
yanks lose soto will be a blue jay
yanks in six got the better pitching and pitching wins games in the world series
chad green deserve to win i have always been impress with him he is a gamer better keep him going to need him next year
@@paulduffy8774 it’s definitely going to be an interesting vote! I’ve liked him a lot too Paul!
Jays are paying for older players, no real talent
Question in response to the LOBJQOTD - how many good or bad seasons does a player need to have for you to determine if they are a good or bad player?
JAYS LET CHAPMAN GO EQUALS NO PLAYOFFS i told ya third base is a very important as i said pitchers era up ps they use 9 players there ps they say chapman cant hit well check his stats ps tor will be rebuilding next year and its going to be rough lots of problems with vlady and bo ps have a great winter
Okay I’ve been hearing a lot about the O’s the past few years and how good their prospects are but that has translated into exactly ZERO playoff wins. I think they are incredibly overrated based on this and would go as far to say that the Blue Jays are more likely to win a World Series than Baltimore within the next eight seasons
Stop....dude....just stop....
Stop what?
My prework morning routine is to listen to the LOCKED ON BLUE Jays Podcast; part of the Locked On Podcast network. Your team, everyday
Soto vs Ohtani? Bring that shit!!
YOU want SOTO da not going to happen look what they do to vlady cant pay him ps
NO ARBITRATION DAMN IT!!!!!! Bloody well sign him long term.... give him the fn money he deserves!!!!!
One thing that Elliotte Friedman always says is you NEVER take your star players to arbitration in the NHL… have to imagine that same thinking applies to baseball players as well. Also, nice editing on that first ad reading 😂 14:18
kuchi was given more than one chance when he got better that is the time to trade him ps mona will be back ps have a good day
@@paulduffy8774 definitely had to trade him because he was at his highest! And yea gotta hope Alek is good to go
Blue jays are irrelevant
mmm lets see. he is performing well for a top tier team with a very real chance to win the World Series. Even if he doesn't resign with the Dodgers there will be other competitive teams willing to sign him up. Why in the world would he sign with a bottom feeder?
Varsho’s bat is to weak, he should be a fourth outfielder.
Good Nana cheer for the Yanks The Blue Jays do not matter any more Atkins trading Teoscar Guriel Jr and Moreno turned the team upside down maybe for good unless Shapiro and Atkins are fired by sleepy Ed Rogers
I can't understand why they didn't resign Teoscar. The bat was far more valuable than the _slight_ reduction in outfield range. That being said, I don't really think they should go backwards. If he wants to come and really shows that then ok I guess, but otherwise I'd rather they turn the page and put that money in a lights out starting pitcher + bull pen. The thing is now the Jays have many light weight prospects, and you have to let one of them run with one of these positions, or trade them all to get something back again...
There is some upside with these young guys, but there floor isn’t where you need it to be with an mlb regular. The bullpen 100% does need a lot of help, but I think you’re setting yourself up to fail if you don’t add another player that has some experience in the league into this lineup
@@LockedOnBlueJays A fair position, we'll see how it goes :)
not going to happen
I'm tracking a jet from NY to Toronto I think it's him.
The restaurants have been booked
Teoscar would be a big upgrade from George Springer, that's for sure. But at his age (31) I wouldn't offer more than a 4-year contract.
Teo could very well end up being a repeat of the Springer deal without the defence. Once the bat starts to regress there’s nothing else to his game which is scary.
Jays the retirement club for 30+ year olds. Who and where are the Jay's scouts.
😂😂
Atkins has too much pride to bring back Teo. The jays also have too many holes to afford him. I'd be surprised
I totally agree, he doesn’t want to look the fool
Don't be so foolish, the Jays Brain trust will not be admitting their mistake by resigning him after he was traded!!
Jon Morosi is likely on Scott Boras payroll. He spreads misinformation to make the teams drive up their prices.
Honestly it’s so frustrating
Ohtani 2.0 hes not coming to toronto. Sign Vladdy and focus on getting two more mashersfor the price youd pay JS
hi guys soto well not going to happen they couldnt even afford chapman and it cost them the season ps just sign bo and vlady ps my opinion on soto he is a showboat and not a very good outfielder tyl
Forget the Soto nonsense. Let's talk about paying Vladdy who in the 2023 playoff against the Mariners was 1/7 with no rbi. Who at the beginning of 2024 sucked until playoff hopes were all but gone and he suddenly came alive. No doe for VG until we see him hit under pressure.
No big money/ long term contract then he either walks or gets traded. A Jays team without Vlad is going to be mid unless you get extremely lucky with prospects. Gotta pay the man imo or many years of suffering for the fans
@@MussellRartin Did the fans miss Bo? Fans miss being in contender. 6 years of Vlad and Bo and a big fat nothing is enough suffering
@@jackuzzi5251 if you don't pay Vladdy now, he's gone. Your other option is to pay him now and try and build around him. If YOU want to get rid of him, YOU are just going to be sitting on your couch for the next few seasons until the next star player comes through the system for YOU to complain about in comment sections
@@justin__powers "Building around a player" is such a throw away line. Toronto is the best example. We've been "building around" VG for 6 years. We won't mention the Leafs "building around" victories (cough)
@@jackuzzi5251 call it whatever you want to make yourself sleep better at night. If you want to get rid of Vladdy, then just say it. Leafs are a joke
The thing I find really ironic is that you guys are calling out media outlets for talking about this… meanwhile you guys make an entire episode dedicated to talking about Juan Soto
Difference is were not blind and see what’s happening instead of making this seem bigger than it is
@@LockedOnBlueJays Not my point; my point is that you guys are contributing to the storyline simply by talking about it, even if you are not blind
@@justin__powers well this is a jays news podcast, it’s a storyline even if it’s a media pushed one. How do we not say something
@@LockedOnBlueJays ... you talk about something else?
@@LockedOnBlueJays lmao....right
NO he won't of course not. Let's just get rid of shatkins and whatshisface first.
They still have the money they saved for Ohtani to sign him.
Thanks for putting in the work & effort boys...much appreciated! Btw...maybe i missed it, but i wish Clement was honourably mentioned, as he was doing his thing pretty consistently!🎁✌
1984 World Series: Padres vs. Tigers (Tony Gwynn & Rich Gossage vs. Jack Morris & Kirk Gibson). But the Mets may have something to say about that!
Thanks yes what a repeat that would be! The Mets are scary for any team right now!
They need two sluggers, at least two good relievers one being a closer, a catcher and starting pitching depth in order to compete
Yep that’s for sure, lots of holes to fill!
@@LockedOnBlueJays yeah and they have about 60 million to spend if the payroll is similar to 2024
Get Trevor bauer
@@kturetsky the Jays never would so it's just a waste of time discussing. Maybe a different media market like Cincinnati or Texas but I think his time in the MLB is done whether right or wrong
Ok so team culture comes up again with the NY Jets firing Saleh. Culture is created by the players not by the coach. Alex Anthopolous said team chemistry is important. What does this all mean? It means the Jays aren't going anywhere with a "just wanna have fun" Guerrero culture. Guaranteed Jays are going nowhere for 10 years if VG gets the 300mil/10 years bag full. Why were Guerriel and Teoscar let go? Cuz they fed the Guerrero goofy have fun culture. Even Bichette after those two were gone said, he thought the team had been a bit immature. The truth is they should have kept Guerriel and Teoscar and traded VG. Oh and let's not get started on Springer. The worst acquisition in Jay history. More wanna fun Wanna have fun is pro sport speak for I can't handle big league big time pressure. Vladdy only started putting up numbers in 2024 when the pressure of making a playoff run was over.
@@jackuzzi5251 I'd take the 2021 lineup with decent pitching any day that's a world series team. Winning creates a good culture.
rebuild probaly going to build more bars all they think about no money for the players mets to win world series
22:00 if we remember nothing else...let's remember to remember this!!
I'm hoping Yanks and Dodgers lose so Rogers can redirect funds away from just one player.
Jay's aren't going to rebuild because they have the payroll to buy their way out of it. So unless that changes then no rebuild
they should get rid of daulton varsol what a terrible trade that was plus the have enough other good outfielders joatan Classe 72 stolen bases in the minors Nathan Lucas hit .303 in 23 games looks like a good hitter maybe thus can get rid of D Varsol
worst manager in league....after pulling Berrios he should have been run out of town
Great video guys only part I disagree with was when you said Ross is unwilling to make big moves in the offseason. I think Gausman, Berrios, Varsho, Bassitt, Springer etc have shown he’s into making big moves since this real competitive window opened up. There wasn’t much to be in on last year outside of Ohtani and we know he made a push there. Question the moves all you like but he does in fact take swings. Anyways, good vid boys.
I didn't realize how stacked the Padres are: Jackson Merrill is a shoo-in for Rookie of the Year, and he's only 21 years old! I think we're going to have a repeat of the 1984 World Series-Tigers vs. Padres. Tarik Skubal is definitely a franchise player.
