    If I were convinced that the majority of expats in Cuenca were like you, I would consider moving there. However, as someone who has lived on/off in Mexico since 1982, I've seen too many Gringos who refuse to embrace the Latin culture. You, however, represent the best values of America. So, when choosing where to live in Ecuador, the presence of many expats is a deal breaker. Loja, here I come! Thanks for the video.

    I've been told it's also about who you know when you're trying to find jobs. If you know someone prominent or so, chances are higher you'll get a job that pays more because of this otherwise you'll get the standard pay like everyone else. More connections equals more pay raise and so on. I was under the impression that persimmons are American?

    • @GlobalLocals

      I’d say knowing someone who can do you a favor when it comes to employment is beneficial everywhere. Not sure about Greece specifically. The persimmon, as I understand, has two separate species: one native to China and the other to America (but I’m no botanist).

    I have a million questions but will only ask a few. Is there such a thing as a lease for a year or so? I have heard the rents are escalating like the monthly income required for a visa that changed in 2022?. Have you found expats moving out of Ecuador like a couple of YT videos are saying? How easy was it to find other expats? And lastly, what was the big surprise that you weren't ready for? Thanks for the great video!

    • @GlobalLocals
      @GlobalLocals 2 года назад

      The rents are going up pretty consistently, it seems, but you will probably be able to find good prices if you have locals help you. For more info about people moving out of Ecuador, I would consult the Facebook expats groups or the InterNations website. InterNations is also a great resource for many other questions since you mentioned there is more you’re curious about. Other expats and how easy it is to find them will depend on where you are. In big cities or on the coast, you will likely find more foreign people. Cuenca also seems to be a pretty big expat / immigrant hub. You can find expats with resources like Facebook, the MeetUp groups, social events. Keep in mind though that if you are considering moving abroad, making local friends and trying to learn the local language and culture is highly recommended! I hope this will give you a solid base to answer some of your question. Feel free to ask more here. You can also check out my more recent video about the RUclips channels to follow that talk about living in Ecuador!

      @@GlobalLocals not for me, thanks. I've been studying viruses, specifically HIV/AIDS/Polio since the late 80's. Research #SV40 and #HeLa cells.... I knew what was going to happen with these injections. It's no surprise they're giving out free AIDS tests now in Canada and when you ask Google what the top predicted disease is for 2030, it's AIDS. Take the time to research Klaus Schwab and the World Economic Forum, things are not as they would seem to the many who have taken these injections. And just as a side note, take a trip through the VAERS database to view stats on deaths and injuries from these injections.... deadliest injection in over 30 years... including my own Grandparents. My Grandma had her Pfizer injection and was found dead on the floor within 24 hours. My Grandpa, her husband, was dead 10 days later. Instead of a 50th wedding anniversary this past summer, they had a double funeral with limited family. This is just two out of many people I know who have died or have been injured from these injections. It's certainly been a strange event to live through, but pushing the injections isn't going to save anyone from anything. People who take injections, shed that crap onto others and do any of these people quarantine after taking the injections? No. This was a bioweapon DESIGNED to hurt us... thankfully it wasn't as powerful as they had hoped. And if you're in doubt about vaccines shedding, you can verify yourself off the FDA's website, they published a nice handy dandy document in 2015 in .pdf format you can download. Good luck to you with your injections. I would get a d dimer test and a live blood analysis done. Your opinion is your opinion but your blood won't lie. Take care.
