I thought these lyrics were well known. This song was on a couple of Johnny Cash compilation albums that I had a long time ago.

The Cartwrights actually sang a much rowdier verse of the song in the pilot episode, it was cut from the TV version but survives on youtube search for Cartwrights sing Bonanza theme song

The first I've watched in colour-TV = Bonanza... first time see the flames in the beginning in red and blue and yellow and orange.... surprised and faszinated... a few hours later I thought our brandnew colour-TV quit his service: Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy... still in black and white... as a small boy I got feared... 😂

And now Kamala Harris wants to take all that away from us .

I’d love if the ending credit rolls of each episode had this version sung after each episode! From a better time!

Many TV theme songs had lyrics, but they chose not to use them. Bonanza is one and many would be surprised to know the theme from Star Trek: The Original Series had lyrics.

I’m 74. I remember watching Bonanza in Salisbury, Rhodesia in 1960, along with Wagon Train, Rawhide, Maverick, Riverboat(?), Sea Hunt, 77 Sunset Strip etc. I didn’t even know there were lyrics to the theme song

60 and still watching Bonanza and listening to JC. Bonanza is my daughters favorite show. She grew up on it. I cancelled my cable when the kids were babies. They grew up on Andy Griffith..The Waltons.. Bonanza.. Beverly Hillbillies and the like. That with homeschooling my kids are fantastic human beings.

Finally, the only Spanish word gringos say it right. B O N A N Z A. What a great tv series!!
