One of the key differences between drawing and drawing like a painter would paint. How are you shaping your style?
Bravo Roberto
Grazie Enrico :)
Very good tips, thanks Roberto!
Happy to hear. Thanks 🙂
It looks well built which to me is important, and I agree it's a good size for painting on the move. I think everyone has their own needs and desires when it comes to art equipment. For me, I want a pochade box that will also carry all my materials so that's what I shopped for. Others like these boxes which keep the palette and the other equipment separate. To each their own!
Totally agree. The reason I like this type of pochade box it that it's thinner, as I usually place different things in different pockets or compartments of my art bag or a backpack without needing a large open compartment or carrying a wooden suitcase :P What pochade box do you use?
Did you see the car silhouette? 😁
Great contents as always! Keep it up 💪🖌
Thanks a lot! :)
Very good video you need more views
Thank you 🙂 I hope they'll come 😅
Roberto, thank you for this review and especially for mentioning using it with sketchbooks. I only work in sketchbooks with watercolor and was wondering whether it could hold one. You're the only person I've found who addressed this! Glad to know I can make it work or buy the separate holder!
Glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching :)
Am I the 1st liker of this video? Edit: 3rd Liker and 2nd Commentor
:P Thank you, appreciate that.
There is significant production quality and value in this video. I cannot believe I stumbled into this channel before its inevitable rise
Thank you very much, let's walk to the top hehe ;)
Excellent video and reflections.
Thank you :)
I noticed that with the main body (medium size) and the two flaps for brushes, it’s about the same weight as the Sienna plein air medium pochade which is cheaper but bulkier. I feel like there’s a market for a super lightweight minimal pochade box that’s around $100-$150. That will be the sweet spot for a lot of artists including myself.
Never tried the Sienna plein-air but for me being able to fit everything in a big shoulder bag or small backpack is very important. Weight is important too of course and I feel that all pochade boxes on the market have a compromise one way or the other, even though I'm personally ok with the u.go weight (but i'm not using the glass palette with it). There are few artists making and selling their own pochade box, I'm not sure about the price but I believe something like @patrickokra one might be lighter? He has a video on his channel about his plein-air setup. Hope that helps. Thanks for your comment.
@@RobertoDomeArt Thank you! Yeah I’ve seem his pochade box. It’s a great design but a bit out of my budget at $250 and currently sold out. I also really like the look of sienna so I think I’ll try that for now. Love your videos they’re super helpful. Thank you 🙏
@@H_0735 Let me know how it goes with the Sienna :) and thank you so much for watching my videos😊
Good video, but terrible music
Thanks, hopefully the music in my new videos is more to your taste 🙂
LOL I was just going to comment that I liked the music.
@@scottallen2190 🤣😁Happy to hear. Thanks for your comment
wow... i really loved the end
😆Thanks, I think I should start improving the beginning 😅
the ending was perfect🤍
Thank you 🙂
Really enjoyed this video Roberto! Your editing was playful and the video is full of character. Keep going as there are a lot of us out here really getting a lot out of your content.
Thanks Amy :) glad you liked it!
So, it's been a year. Are you still living this pochade box
Yes. Still using it and loving it :). I'm using it with oils or gouache now.
You are a great youtuber!
Wow thanks 😊
Hey Roberto, I like this approach to the video. Storytelling is important in life, and even more so on RUclips. I can recommend Alpay Efe to you - he does it at a high level and you can learn a lot from him (no advertising, but he is simply good at it and a good role model). Keep up the good work! As an artist, I'm also thinking about streaming via twitch soon, I've finally saved up the equipment.
Thanks. Oh I love Alpay's videos, he is great. Let me know when you start streaming, I'll defintely pass by🙂
well your videos motivate me to paint/draw more ! and I agree being patient helps a lot with art, I envy patient people
Very happy to hear. Thank you 😊 (I need more patience too 😅)
i dont know if you are an artist or not.. but i DO know that you have absolutely no clue how to edit a video or even how to setup a mic so your voice DOESN't come out muffled and make it hard to understand a single word. while speaking english with an hardcore accent that is hardly to understand. the parts where music is running in the background are just not possible to understand. brooo.. plssss.. just stop. or at least buy a good mic. maybe visit an editing course. or maybe, hey, do your thing.. and.. "trust the process". MAYBE, next time: do it in your native language for people who actually understand you without problems. if you get a mic. and some skills. in something. i GET it. you want to be famous on youtube SO FCKN MUCH! because you want money and fame and all the things a real artist is sh*tting on because, you know.. he is a real artist. but, broooo, dont make yourself a fool infront of the WHOLE WORLD! greetings from germany.
What a rude comment. What I do know is, that RUclips is sometimes a place of trolls. I love his accent and (also as a german) I can absolutly understand him. His editing skills are good and nowhere near as bad as you describe. To tell someone to stop something he has a passion for is just stupid. I can't follow the advice to use a different microphone either, the spoken word sounds quite normal to me. You should be ashamed of your "wisdom".
wow so much rage in one comment, get a life "bro". btw his accent is perfectly understandable, maybe you should clean your ears
Thanks for not saying I’m also ugly 😅and thanks for watching.
Complimenti Roberto, si vede che c'è tanto lavoro dietro i tuoi video. Sono sicuro che presto ne avrai tantissimi followers. Avanti tutta!!!
Grazie mille per il bel commento 🙂
Every achievement in life (but finding love, I guess) is a matter of consistency and dedication. Talent is extremely overrated and used as an excuse by whom fear to go in the arena. Kudos man
Thanks for watching and for your comment 🙂
One of your videos got recommended to me which led me to this one. I love how you explain things and it’s amazing to see the sketches take shape. I liked and subscribed ❤
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the video and welcome to my channel :)
I thought that the Jackson Icon was a sable/synthetic mix...
Interesting. I checked their website and apparently the Icon is now a mix. Though, I'm pretty sure when I purchased mine it was saying only synthetic. They might have updated their line of brushes, I will need to look further into this. Thanks for pointing it out.
❤
Thank you so much for this video. I do get very frustrated with my painting and just want to throw it in the trash. That makes me procrastinate for fear of failure.
Thank you for watching and commenting. I'm glad my video could be of some help. It's a very common feeling between artists, we just need to learn to live with it. To me helps thinking that in reality we only fail when we are not painting.
Super! Bien dit!
Thank you :)
Nice format! The introspective commentary along with the video of you painting is really entertaining
Thank you. Glad you liked it :)
What a great video!

Very nice video:) You're working wet into wet mostly yes?
Thank you. I add color variations wet into wet. Wet on dry if I want sharp edges.
Thank you.
Thank you :)
Keep goin. Very inspirational. Very healing. @@RobertoDomeArt
You have precisely explained many Essential points on the creative block, reasons why or because of... Well done, molte grazie! "Forget about perfection you will never achieve it." Salvador Dali In other words, do the best you are capable of accomplishing in your painting endeavors.
Great quote. Grazie for watching :)
Nice video, now I want sushi lol
ahah thanks :P

The thing I do that makes me draw and paint everyday is an idea I have had a few months ago: "When we begin drawing and/or painting, you can expect to invest many hours working on this piece of art. So why not put these hours into good use. "How?" you will ask. well, look at you. you draw, and you paint. But chances are that these are not the only skills you want to develop. There are book, courses, and useful video notes about other skills that you want to install into your memory bank so that you advance your career, improve your relationship with your loved one, increase your happiness, etc.. so, if visual things stick in the mind better than words on paper, why not... why not draw and paint the notes of the skills you want to develop ? think about it. you are going to face a canvas/piece of paper for hours (or much less, if you want. Just draw with the duration you are comfortable with) so might as well draw something or paint something that summarizes your notes in a visual way.. or you can write the summarized notes in the piece of paper, and start drawing. the result will be that you will internalize these notes, and you will have practiced drawing/painting today, so you achieved multiple things at once. so draw the quotes you really love, draw the screenshots you take instead of just saving it in your phone, draw that scene from your fave movie, TV show, or Anime! say to yourself,: "I love experimentation. and a person like me always succeeds. even if I make a mistake, I see it as progress, and in reality, those who make an artistic mistake like drawing the proportions wrong or anything, are awesome because Since the majority of people don't want to fail, they won't practice, so this mistake here has made me 100% percent better than them, soooo, in actuality, every mistake I make artistically separate me from competition; I go forward, while they stay in the same place...
Great piece of advice and a fantastic way to keep feeling inspired. Totally agree, making mistakes is a big part of growth, and learning to embrace them could make our life much easier. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
you are most welcome, brother
Fantastic video with so many gems + great camera work and editing as well. A lot of us can get stuck in the trap of thinking our problems are too complex, and that simple solutions like waking up early, achieving a small task or two before the start of the day, building self-confidence and discipline through exercise, simply won't work. Don't let your procrastination have its breakfast. Thanks for making this video, keep it up! 💙
Thanks for watching, glad you liked it.
I give you a hug. This video is a gift, a beautiful gift. I feel so alive. And not so ashamed for how often I reach for pencils and paintbrushes. So often, it’s the only way I can express a lot of things. I thank you.
And your comment is a gift to me. Thank you very much for your kind words.
Carissimo Roberto, sei bravissimo! Ad maiora! Ciao❤
Grazie :P
You could put a bit of weather stripping on the clamp that's too tall
Good advice. However after using it more and more I never had any issues with the tolerances or else.
@@RobertoDomeArt sweet!
Amazing video 🤩
Thank you :)
But I drawing... =(
😁
do you have problems with the water cup leaking when in the bag at all?
No, it's very well sealed.
Oh this was very interesting. I have some Da Vinci brushes I take with me outdoors, but I was considering the Escoda ones because they've been recommended to me by some people. Thanks for the vid! 🌸
Brushes choice is very personal, they end up being extensions of our hand, and we all have different hand writing🙂 Da Vinci and Escoda are both amazing brands, can't go wrong either way. I personally find Escoda round brushes more comfortable to use. About mob brushes, I give a slight edge to Da Vinci. Thanks for watching and commenting 🙂
@@RobertoDomeArt Thing is I already have a bunch of brushes so it's harder for me to feel justified buying new ones xD
@ I know the feeling 😅Sometimes a new tool is all we need to keep the motivation to painting going. Paint a lot and once it's time to change your brush, try a different one 😉
