My name is Jan Rasiewicz, they call me RASKO and I am a Full time artist from Slovenia. I love to work in large scale, therefore my paintings are often large. I work with resin, acrylic paint, pigments and ink, however, I also love to explore other mediums and work with wood.
On this channel I upload videos of me creating art, which I hope helps other artists and makers to explore their creativity.

HOW TO PAINT PALM TREES AND RESIN WAVES - OCEAN RESIN ART
I decided to get out of my comfort zone even more and finally tried to combine ocean resin art with realistic fine art painting. I've created many pieces with Shark families before and here I go even further since I painted some Palm trees with shadows on the coast line.
I upgraded my filming gear, so that I can film with two cameras at the same time. I also added a LAV microphone to my gear so that voice audio is now really clear.
* Main camera: Canon 100D (known as Rebel SL1 in USA)
* Overhead camera: iPhone 7 Plus
* Microphone: Rode smartLav+ Lavalier
For video editing I use DaVinci Resolve - an awesome piece of software!

How To Varnish a LARGE canvas print? That's how I do it.
Просмотров 7 тыс.3 года назад
This video is a TUTORIAL on how to varnish a large Canvas print. It doesn't matter if it is a Fine art print or a photograph print, the procedure is the same as long as it is printed on canvas. Any print on canvas should always be varnished with professional varnish to protect it from UV rays. That's how prints are kept nice and vibrant for many years to come without fading. I have my original ...

How to paint a horse - "Whispering Horse" painting tutorial - Time Lapse Video
Просмотров 3,5 тыс.9 лет назад
This video is from 2015, when I painted this horse for my daughter. Now I focus more on creating Resin Beach art and abstract art. But I decided not to delete this video since it's kind of nice and a good tutorial on painting a horse. Enjoy. This is a is a Time Lapse video of me painting this beautiful animal. I have used GOLDEN and LIQUITEX professional acrylic paints for this painting. It too...
Have you varnished hand embellished prints? If so, would you varnish the same way? And if embellished with oil paint, can the same varnish be used?
Hi. I haven’t done hand embellished prints at all, so I can’t tell. But if I would, I’d use the same varnish (If embellished with acryllic paint) and same spreading technique. Regarding last question - I wouldn’t use this varnish for oil embellished prints since this one is made only on acrylic basis. I’d rather use varnish suited for oil paintings. This blog post is very imformative, check it out: www.milanartinstitute.com/blog/varnishing-artwork
what did you use for painting palms? is thar acrylic paint?
Exactly 👍
@raskofineart 🙏
how many days should we wait every between the layers? thank you so much.
Depends on your resin, but usually at least 24 hours before you move to working on next layer 👍
Excellent...just Wow...looking real....you are matchless
Thank you so much 🙏
Wow! Beautiful
Hi! Where do you find those big foam rollers?
I got this one at local DIY store… I saw them also on Amazon some time ago.
@@raskofineart I have searched all over the place but they are hard to come by. Thanks anyway!
Hi, excellent piece and video. Just a question, when you're adding the white resin at 5.03m, have you left the resin after mixing to thicken before using? I'm finding that my resin is too fluid so just moves as a blob rather than separating into strands (likes yours does) when applying the heat gun. Would welcome any advice. Many thanks. David
It is about trial and error numerous times to get your prefered brand of resin act as you wish. I use brand “Art Resin” which is not too fluid, just as I like it. If yours is too fluid, experiment with waiting a bit before pouring it down. It is hard to put in words, just try and never give up 💪
Hi Rasko, would love to see more of your work! Your ocean scenes are beautiful!
Thank you very much! I had other things going on, but I miss my seascapes already. Just a matter of time when I’m back.
@@raskofineart that is good to hear!
Hi Rasko I love your work it so beautifully crafted and they all look like beaches you would definitely like to visit. :) i have a question what color are you using for your sand. I cant tell. Maybe DARK titanium // not sure. but I would love to know. My sister loves the ocean and i thought i might try and make her a medium one on canvas. Plz let me if you dont mind. Again beautiful Work !!
Thank you dear. First, I would avoid working on canvas - it sags in the middle when working with “heavy” resin and results are bad. Use wooden panel instead. I use tinted white (with a drop of brown and yellow) or Titan Buff fro Golden colors. Good luck! 👍
This is really nice. I have a few questions for you. If I go with your multi-layer for a tabletop do I need to build a frame around to fill evenly resin where you have the wave foam on the sand. Currently shown that sand has a low point than the wave. Secondly, I notice you have a lot of action (waves) in deep water (deep blue area).
I believe for your case it would be the best to build frame around the piece and remove it when finished. But edges would have to be polished later.
Hi, your paintings are amazing, could you tell me what kind of support you use for them? Do you work on wood? What kind? Thanks
Hi. See some of my other videos where I describe how I create my wooden panels. I use Birch plywood and spruce slats.
Самое настоящее море из всех, которые я видела👍👍👍🤗Очень натурально и красиво. Скажите пожалуйста, Вы даёте смоле настояться, загустеть перед тем, как делать волны? 🤗
Yes, like I describe in a video, I always work in layers. Each layers has to dry before I continue with another layer.
@@raskofineart спасибо большое 🤗👍👍👍
This is sick I wish I was ablento fo something like that
You can :). I made a ton of mistakes and threw away many pieces before I “mastered” my technique of making aerial seascapes.
hey do you use 2:1 resin or 3:1 please help
I use brand “Art Resin” which is 1:1 ratio.
❤❤❤
🙏
hey even i would love to do something like this but from where should i purchase the wooden panel ? even if i go to a local store what should i ask them to provide me with ?
Any art supply store should have the cradled wood panel or Amazon. I make my own panels as I'm very familiar with the woodworking.
Hi. Since I couldn’t find proper panels in sizes I wanted them, I make my own panels out of 8mm Birch plywood and 30mm x 30mm Spruce slats. All hand made. But I have seen some on Amazon, but not my desired sizes. Good luck!
Great.
Thanks!
Love it, an intimate knowledge of the ocean... absolutely stunning, and relaxing! ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Absolutely beautiful ❤
Meraviglioso! Quanto tempo passa dal primo strato? Aspetti che asciughi la,resina per poi poter mettere altri strati sia di colore che di bianco?
Yes. Layers must dry. See my other videos to see how I work.
Me encantan tus cuadros y aprendo mucho con tus vídeos. Saludos desde Barcelona
Beautiful ❤
B E A U T I F U L !!!! Love it.❤

I live on the eastern coast on Mt. Desert Island. Looks very real.
Thanks a lot ❤️
Ayuh
Super! I love it❤
I'm glad!
beautiful work! great job 👍
Thank you very much!
So realistic
Thank you 🙏
Clever taping it down. After varnishing, how pliable is it when you stretch it on a frame?
Depends on a canvas u use. Better to ise high quality canvas for large artwork.
Beautiful, how many coats of resin did you put on,
I think 4 or five
How many days it takes to crate
Many years to learn… many years of teial and error 😊
Muito top gostei❤
Thank you
What are your colors you use for the ocean for it's beautiful
Golden Actylics. Turquoise, Teal, Titanium white, Titan buff I think
De los más bonitos q he visto
Gracias ❤️
Beautiful! I want to buy it!
Thank you! Unfortunately this one was sold long time ago. But I have some resin art seascapes left. Check out my website: www.rasko.eu
How many inch

I love it 😍
Thank you ❤️
amaizing 😍😍
Wah gurudev 🙏🙏👍👍
VERY NICE... I WISH I COULD DO THIS
You can. Just try until you make it even better 🫶
What is name of band and song playing in background?
My brother is author of music. He creates it on computer.
I love it 🎉😊
Thank you 👋
Beautiful!!! How long do you let the acrylic paint dry before you pour the resin?
1-2 days
I love your Art
Thank you so much 🙏
Thank you
Is that heat gun the1800 watt model and do you use the high setting to blow the waves? Is the heat cranked on the heat gun?I am trying to research what heat gun to buy. What would you recommend?I've had so many failures with my setup that I'm getting a little discouraged. You do very beautiful work,it must be quite satisfying.
Thank you Steve. It doesn't matter what kind of heat gun you use. It can be done with all of them - just you have to find your approach. I usually use heat on around medium setting - never to hot. Blowtorch is also essential since that extra high temperature makes those little cells. But you have to work quick with it and never overdo the piece. Remember less is more. If you knew how many pieces I've ruined before I found my way of doing this kind of art, you'd be amazed I didn't quit long time ago. There is no "recipe", it is just learning by trial and error, working hard, and never give up! Good luck!
@@raskofineart Do you use the heat gun for drying and making cells? Do you use a torch and if yes why?
@@ntaylor1144 Blowtorch makes little cells since it operates with higher temperature. Check my other videos, I explain the procedure…
Hey can one use normal hair dryer with nosel attached to it as heat gun?
I tried, but results were not so good since hair dryer operates with lower temperature@@manasvi2758
Approximately how much resin, did you use on that?
Abot a gallon (4 - 4,5L) in 4 layers I think
I would really like to see the process of adding the shark. Those are very beautiful. Could you share what product you use for the white?
Check my other videos, I explain everything, also closeups of painting sharks. White is Titanium white from GOLDEN acrylics, Fluid series.
Where u get the colors to buy
In local art store
Awesome job
Size , thikness , price?
