17 easy to forget items that we are glad we have aboard our cruising sailboat
I enjoyed your video thank you for posting it
I first sailed on Lake Erie, out of Toledo!
I found the American locks, better than the Canadian! I did the trip 2 years ago but down river!
For God sake...stop that slapping noise!!
Remember the WISHY CRUISE BYE', he came out of retirement, so Dwayne could take aunt Jackie on the wishy cruise.
What was the starting point and where where you finishing?
Where’s home?
Hi, we met you at Kidston Island , Baddeck last summer. There was three boats together at the beach and your beautiful and curious kitty explored all three. We talked for a bit about your quest. Came across you on RUclips and now are following you. Best of luck and safe travels where ever you may go.
Which point did you leave from ns. How long did it take for that passage?
You know the best thing about having a bout !!!? ,, buying the boat and selling the boat
Looks like a family member of mine ,, bazansons
I love the content, but it seems like one of you doesn't want to 'be here" ... so let them not be there if you can. (If I'm reading the situation correctly).
OMG the girl loox depressed after only this small overnight passage. Hope the boy notice it and becomes less selfish
Dude, your lady sailor is a keeper... Good instincts..👍
Really nice!
I can hear the nesting terns disturbed by you and the cat. The wading birds are ALL in steep decline because people don’t hear, understand, and respect the alarm calls of these sensitive nesting birds. Flushing is for toilets. Know what to look for and listen for. Mosquitos are THE indicator of a healthy ecology. Our lack of tolerance for inconvenience is the ruination of the planet. Further, look into the number of diseases and parasites that can be passed from the feces of pets moved all over the world to wildlife and decimating the populations of wildlife. It is sad how ignorant people are. Life without our beloved pets IS hard, but they have no business being out there in some of the few pristine places left on the planet. Please…. It is not all about us and our enjoyment if what we enjoy cannot survive our visit.
Are you from maine?
@@Mme.Swisstella We're not from Maine originally, but lived there for 10 years. We departed for this trip from our last home in Georgetown, Maine.
Sure would help those (like me!) who will sail there soon to SEA where you drop the hook on a chart, which you can show briefly so we can locate the areas.
Loved sailing that area, beautiful
Love your work here! What's the make and model of your boat?
Great video . I have done the Erie Canal 4 times , they have some floating bollards in there as well. Good thing about the Seaway , you can keep your mast up , pita when it on the deck .
That is Seal Island bridge, and the mountain to your left is Kelly’s Mountain. Keep an eye out for whales all through there. Edit. Just saw the date.
Gee, you went right by our place on your bikes! Nice if you to visit!
Thanks 4 the "heads up' of the conditions .Ive had many conversations with fellow sailors out of Toronto and they all agree on these brutal conditions.IF goingsouth the ICW is the best.Whats the deal with brigging the cat along?..respectfully.
Can you tip a sail boat over? lol looks scary
Awesome man I’m in Glovertown Newfoundland we have a marina here great spot
You have got to stop in Port Mouton Bay and check out Carters Beach there is anchorages right off the beach!
I keep my SH VHF clipped to my Mustang. If I go overboard and my wife is below I’ll be able to call her on the radio. It also has a light beacon for night in case the one on my Mustang doesn’t work.
Epic vid. I really enjoyed this one. Glad you found the current atlas. Most sailors don’t know that such things exist.
It’s pronounced Morn, as in Morning, not moraine. I feel like the Newfoundland language police. Nice vid though. NL raspberries are the BOMB!!!
It’s Bay St. George, not St Georges Bay. I live on its shores. It’s Pronounced NewFinLAND, rhymes with Understand It’s the GULF of St Lawrence. Lark Harbour, not cove. Criticism aside, I enjoyed the vid..nice to see my home on RUclips.
Indeed. Everything you mentioned I have on my C&C 30. Watched your videos over past week or so...nice job. Morgan reminds me of my wife, only my wife doesn't touch a thing except cook. There are times my wife IS NOT playing anymore. If I don't sail in fog I'll be tied up wondering where the summer went...so there's lots of that shit. Lol. You channel is a good watch!
awesome

Hey from Christine and Milo (met ya in Newfoundland) 😊. Just watched the last of your videos and glad to see you guys made it safely.
Newfoundland people are the salt of the earth very friendly and outgoing. Nova Scotia Halifax.
Great channel. Will you be back this season?
Shame on the south shore Lunenberg group that were so unhospital to you on your visit there. That was so unfriendly indeed. I am a Cape Bretoner , & that is not characteristic of our province and people . ( but there is no telling of certain little areas I guess.) Not cool at all. You will have better experience as you go north east to Orher coastal areas I am sure. We are welcoming people. Enjoy your trip. & thank you for coming to our play ground . .
Cape Breton author Silver Donald Cameron wrote one of his books about sailing from Cape Breton to Florida. It is called Sailing Away From Winter. In it he states that Lunenburg was the most unwelcoming and most unfriendly stop of the entire trip.
You'll know you're not in the Bahamas when you go into the water. Freezing cold most of the year.
Think you could spell Cape Breton correctly on your video thumbnail?
She’s a hard worker
In go nish
I live in the bay st. Geoge area. Never been on sandy point though. Many times at black bank which is the sandy beach near sandy point.
Loving the vid(s). One of my top goals is to set off from Bronte Oakville where I live now and make it to Corner Brook then north to southern Labrador coast. I spent my youth in both these parts so it would be an unreal experience.
Hey guys, what’s the max mast height? I would like to purchase a sailboat up on Lake Michigan and bring it through the great lakes and up the St.Lawrence seaway and down the East Coast of the United States
Crazy question from a Mainer who should know better. Looking to get 28'. Where do I even dock it? How do I go about finding who'll let me? And what's a good price? Penobscot bay. Thanks. I
Hey Nate! I don't have a great line on what marinas have openings. Best advice I can give is to Google marinas that meet the criteria of being close to your home and in an area you are interested to sail in. Then give them a call to inquire about price and availability. Another factor to consider is if you want to be dockside or out on a mooring. Dockside is more expensive, but you can plug in for power. Mooring is nice because it's quick and easy to go out for a sail without bothering with dock lines or fenders. But you would need a dinghy to get back and forth to your boat. Marina prices are typically charged by the foot. So a 28' boat shouldn't be crazy expensive but I wouldn't want to quote you a price because it can vary so much from one marina to another. Most people will keep there boat at a "home" marina that you can establish a good relationship with. Then just take there boat out for day sails. Then occasionally going out for a more extended sailing vacation. While out on a long sail just drop anchor in a cove for the night and skip any marina fees. If you do need to pull into a marina, then call ahead and make arrangements. Hope this answers your question. Thanks for watching my video.
Luring on your entry form to the US will be problematic for you. Is it really worth the hassle to lie vs just eating the $30 fruit/veggie supply. I assure you the fine will be way more than just buying more later.
I was mostly making a joke. The conversation with the customs officer was like "are you sure you have vegetables on board?..... because if you do, we will have to board you.... so think about it for a second.... now are you sure you have vegetables...." basically asking me to lie without asking me.
