-Most of my videos are ~5 mins long and take me a year to make, lol. Probably down to how awful my scriptwriting process is, but at least I won't clog your subscription box!
-I'm planning on doing film stuff for my career, and I use this channel to practice cinematography, video editing, and script writing. Definitely a WIP but hey, we're getting there, right?

Engine-Swapping my Fiero (just to feel something idk)
this isn't the first Ecotec Fiero, but it's probably the one with the worst paint. does that count for anything? will I ever finish the timing chain on this motor? will the motor finally get mounted in the car after 3 years? find out on the next episode of dragonball z

I've driven my fair share of cars, but this one takes the cake as the fastest that I've ever been in. NGL tho I felt like Mazepin the entire time I had behind the wheel. I thought this would be exactly like my LNF Sedan, but... no. It's really nothing alike. LNF Valve Cover Removal (+PCV Hose)

First major repair on the Cobalt. Took about 15 hours to figure out how to do it, and it was such a pain in the ass that I wanted to make a video showing how to do it. The PCV Hose is the real bitch. This will work for the Pontiac Solstice GXP, Saturn Sky Redline, Chevy HHR SS, and Chevy Cobalt SS. May work for LDK engines (Buick Regal GS, etc.), LTG (Camaro) etc. but I'm not sure. My 06 Sonata GLS 3.3 v6 gets 26 - 28 mpg highway miles, 21 mpg average. 238k miles, runs great, love it. And yes, it's fast.
Isn’t the Sab bo27l just the na version of the Lsj(supercharged ecotech)
It is a version of the LSJ, but it actually came turbo!
Are you going to stick a bigger turbo in it or jeep the original
I’m actually going to go with a supercharger because the packaging is a lot easier and I can still easily exceed my power goals. It’s a 2400lbs car with a final drive ratio of 4.41, I think over 300hp in this thing would make it a death trap lol
Nice. Can't wait to see more. Since you want something that revs higher, I'd suggest running a turbo instead of a SC. I'm getting a 3800sc to run in mine and will be running a turbo on it eventually. The 3800sc can rev out with heavy springs, port work, a cam and a turbo, but it is a little heavier. When I get bored of the 3800sc, I plan on swapping in a VW 07k 5cyl w/6 spd. That setup weighs about 100lbs less than the 3800sc and can rev to 9k lol.
Thanks man! I considered going turbo, but tbh the SC fits a lot easier and will make power over 7k rpm. The 3800 is a fantastic engine for these cars tho- if you wind up going with the 5cyl u gotta post a video of it! Gonna sound like a baby V10.
Fieros are fun. They can SHRED on the Tail of the Dragon. My 88 Fiero does.
YES, that’s the idea! The clips with the Cobalt were from my trip there, that road is a blast. What all do you have done to your ‘88?
@@turbo_co27 I've kept it mostly stock. Did a complete restoration on it a few years ago. 354,000 miles on the stock engine and it still runs great.
Very nice! They’re super reliable if you take care of them. Luckily I was able to find someone to take the engine I pulled out of this one bc I really didn’t wanna junk a recently rebuilt 2.8L lol.
Any movement by Goblin towards a full bodied car?
Nope, next one they’re making is another open wheel car based on a VW. But you can get either a Cobalt or Sky/Solstice for a full body car!
@@turbo_co27 thank you.
Dude... really think you had bad luck, or been too hard on that car. That particular Sonata generation is GREAT and very reliable. Can face any Camry or Accord from the same age.
Must have been bad luck I guess, because I was pretty easy on it tbf. But idk, I couldn’t fill the gas tank bc it would damage the EVAP canister, and then I sold it at 123k miles after the water pump died. But I’ve had worse at this point lol.
Clever!
Thank you!
I got a 2009 gls got it last year 80k miles I have 139k at the moment I have a hps air intake muffler delete res delete coming soon last winter I had no issues in 4 inch snow stock wheels the car runs good on on 18s it’s not the fastest but with those small modifications a Toyota Camry or a Honda accord can’t beat it I guess it’s about maintenance I put about 800$ to the car 1600 including the new wheels I have on it reliability is great I drove to Washington DC a couple months ago and back and I still had gas for 2 more days I like the body style of my sonata I don’t like the engine or the slowness but I know in the future I’ll keep it and make it some sort of vip build they’re underrated especially the v6 I might engine swap it with a v6 not sure yet
That’s pretty good to have all in on a car that runs well. Maintenance definitely helps! Couldn’t save my water pump from blowing up tho, sadly.
Mine works fine
Pontiac 3800 v6 engine baby
3800’s a great engine, but I want something lighter weight and higher revving:)
@turbo_co27 if you wanted that, you should have look for a W41 Olds Drivetrain, would have revved ALL DAY.
I LOVE you.
“and I love you, random citizen!”
Not as cool as my hot wheels, great vid by the way
Thanks man! But nothing’s as cool as hot wheels, I gotta grab one every time I go to the store👽
That would be a riot with a blower
@@biggiemac1997 that’s the plan!
Car is reliable got the 2010. Won’t drive as nice as a Toyota or Honda but it is reliable lol. Good mpg 25mpg average I did get 400 miles to the tank before. My goal is push it to 250k miles before throw in 🚮
Hey if it’s working for ya that’s fantastic! Mine blew out the water pump at 123k miles and died unfortunately, kinda miss that car these days lol.
I had my lnf tuned at 25 psi but I could go to 7400 rpm and she would rip so many cars on a roll. Surprised a lot of people.
They’re definitely fun! Just fixed mine after a long fight against electrical issues, and I’m glad to be driving it again:)
I’ve had many cobalts SS, turbo and supercharged. The shifters are very good but if maintained. The plastic components seem to wear out with high miles. Very easy to refresh them. And even half the time your shifter cables are just shot. Not too crazy to install.
Yeah I can’t say I agree with my take on the shifter anymore lol, I’ve changed my mind on that after driving a bunch of stick cars. But I’ll keep my eye out for when it’s time to refresh them, and see about putting ZZP’s F35 spring in there.
I have a Hyundai 2008 it has 205k miles runs great has had work to it new shocks new tires new brakes and belts runs good main thing is I think the clutch is going out the clutch pedal has low pressure you think it’s worth paying alor of money to fix the clutch ? Yoy think the motor is most likely towards the end of its life ?
Has the grab point of the clutch risen towards the top? Does the clip slip in fifth/other gears? if the body is in good shape (not too much rust) and the motor has good compression i could see a new clutch being worth it, especially if you can do it for not too much money.
@@turbo_co27 well the car shifts gears well so I’m thinking the clutch might be fine also I usually shift gears around 3500-4k rpms to wait for the car to rev up a bit is that okay? I used to shift a bit early what’s better in ur opinion?
@@troyholland3436 I usually shift at like 2k-ish rpm personally, but I'm sure it's fine. But a shot clutch will shift okay and accelerate poorly. You'll know it's dead when you put your foot to the floor and the RPM's sharply rise and the car doesn't go any faster.
@@turbo_co27 ok and I made a dumb mistake a week ago and was in 5th gear doing 60 and then my friend wanted me to shift down to 3rd so I was doing 3rd doing about 60 but then the car flew and had insane power just did it 2 times but really regret it hopefully no damage was done it didn’t hit the red line but was close
Great video and nice job doing the homework on this little frenchie. Not a car for me but would be fun to play with for a day, or better yet, rip out the drive train stuff an LS in it and make it rear rear wheel drive and just kill tires for days! haha
Thanks man!! It’s a lot of fun, maybe you could get an LS with enough welding lol. In a long enough timeline, everything gets an LS!
@@turbo_co27 You're not wrong about everything get an LS these days. That said, the more I think about it, a 2JZ would probably be the cooler swap in this car, and probably fit better too.
@@OneMoreBolt i mean i dont mind the LS being "overused", it's a common swap bc it works lol. If I could swap it with anything I'd go with the Honda L15B7 with a bigger turbo bc I'd love to see how the refinement of the DI motor would feel in such a small chassis. But that's because I like oddball swaps lol.
Even though I will never buy the pepe car I still like the video. Never give up!!!! Also don’t you usually censor the license plate in your videos?
thank you man!! the plates are from a few owners ago (on a different continent) and the american plates aren't installed so i assume it's not an issue:)
SILLY CAR GO BRRRRR
#goblin333 approves this!!!
Did you buy it from someone else? Someone in these comments also said they had #333 :)
@@turbo_co27 I built 333. I probably commented from different accounts lol
im an idiot I forgot I posted from the goblin account. I am about to post some dash cam vids from colorado mountain roads here this spring and summer
@@coloradotrader7202 haha happens to the best of us. colorado is gorgeous! id love to see em:)
I own a 2009 Sonata..bought it in 2010 with 43,000 miles..it now has 215,000 miles still driving it..... and the reason your car is crap because you even admitted it you do not know what you are doing....none
Glad that you had a good experience. I, however, could not completely fill the gas tank because it would overflow and destroy the EVAP canister.
Good vid but that isn’t the pcv line. The pcv connects to the air intake tube. I have no idea what the technical name is but need to find out. I cut the o ring pulling it out of the housing
Hey Ik it’s been 5 months lol but that’s actually the turbo oil feed line. Everyone online said this was a “PCV line”, so that’s what I went with. But absolutely not lol
buick regal gs also has the better f40 6 speed... that I swapped into my cobalt after I blew the stock one up.
Nice! Bet that’s fun, the F40’s ratios are great. Is yours a big turbo car?
nope supercharged, hope to go that route someday. I think my cobalt lands more on the shitbox side of the spectrum as far as how it was taken care of before me. The F40 is a really great swap tho I recommend it.@@turbo_co27
@@Sigmabalt257 I gotta admit I don’t think I’ve ever seen an LSJ with an F40, that’s really cool! Glad to see you’re taking care of it man. These cars have been put through the wringer in the last 10 years or so. I’m definitely going with an F40 if/when my F35 pops lol.

Is the music from Gran Turismo 2?
Actually GT4:) both are great tho!

So that bolt you use the fishing line. Do you remember what size it is?. My fat fingers dropped it and it never fell all the way thru😢. I know is a 10mm but what thread pattern? Thank you. Good watch
Honestly I don’t know the thread pattern sorry man- I can’t find it online. But I used one of the two bolts on the boost solenoid on the intake manifold. The solenoid is secure with one bolt and it didn’t leak. Or you can bring it to a hardware store and they’ll tell ya.
@Storethis ya I can't find anything any where online. Thank you tho. Worth the try.
Great video! Curious to know how you painted the valve cover and got the paint to not cover the writing on the front.? Did u just sand it off carefully?
Thanks man! You can do that- you can also pick the soft paint off with a razor. Chrisfix made a great video on it that explains how to do that. Also, use earplugs to cover the screw holes, and go for a thicker top coat. It’s been like 2 years and I gotta redo the paint bc it’s cracking and falling apart:///
I’ve had a 2004 NB for over 6 years and I can say far and away it is the most fun-to-drive car I have EVER owned. I’ve done various thoughtful upgrades to keep it fun and commute friendly/ready, all of which have only re-affirmed my choice of this car, nearly 100K miles later.
That’s fantastic man, I’m tryna do that with my own car. What did ya add to it?
@@turbo_co27 Willwood brake kit, MeisterR coilovers, Hooker Blackheart cat-back exhaust, delrin window and door bushings, energy suspension bushings, LED headlights, and Mitsubishi Eclipse air vents for the dash

Ayy thank you so much!!:D
It's an nb1 its the vvt engine it's the vics engine so no variable valve timing ...
oh my mistake, yeah i thought that it was an NB2 but that started the year after. thanks for pointing that out lol
Blows my mind you only have <200 subs, this is one of my favorite car tutorials so far and loved several of your other videos on the Cobalt too. You deserve way more subs!

I'm also so happy that there's documented footage of my old car and one day I'll be able to show my kid(s). It brings me so much joy you have no clue.
AAAA thank you for the kind words and for letting me drive it! I'm glad you liked it :)) I can send you all the videos of it so you have as much of it as possible if you want!
Very cool! Would love to own one of these some day.
I am actually the new owner of this car. I can confirm it is pretty fast and fun to drive. It does however need a new engine which sucks but is also kind of nice. I get to really dig into this car now. I'll also turn up the boost a little so I can get some more power on the high end. With two people you can really feel the car drag.
Oh yeah we met when you bought it? Glad to hear you've been tweaking it, but that's a shame to hear about the engine. Dyk what's wrong with it? Also, have you messed with the suspension/chassis at all by any chance?
Sweet Ride! 😁
@@grinnellidesigns Its in part due to me being a 6'8 300+lb behemoth. Plus another 200 or so pounds when I ride with a friend. A good way to describe the feeling is that when you tell the car to go, it goes, no question. But, you don't feel like your being sent it into orbit. That is the feeling I've built up in my head and maybe my expectations were too high. My goal is to run just under 300whp in this thing. Stock, it apparently puts down 220whp on a dyno from what I've read. It just needs a little more umph, but not so much where I kill myself lol.
@@turbo_co27 Yeah we definitely met. So its DUMPING coolant into the crankcase. Its not the water pump as I replaced it. No power loss or anything so sleeves are good. It has to be a leak between the coolant jacket and an oil return line. Whether thats due to a headgasket failure or cracked block idk. Porous block is a problem with this engine as it was foam casted instead of sand casted. I opted to get the next generation engine (LDK) to replace the LNF. It has weaker connecting rods technically but that doesn't really matter as those start to fail around 400whp and there is no way in hell I'm running anywhere near that. I haven't touched the chassis/suspension yet. I installed a 3rd brake light on that beam that connects the coilovers, bluetooth speakers, new intermediate steering shaft and license plate light.
I built this car and can attest it is fast as hell. So odd I was on you tube and my old car popped up hah. Good luck with it guys.
I have a 2009 Hyundai Sonata Limited V6, and I absolutely love the car! Fast asf, paint is immaculate, not a single scratch, peel, or fade, and I get around 23mpg overall. If you’re gonna get an NF, get the V6.
The V6 is indeed pretty damn good. That's a solid 75hp more than the base I had, that sounds like a lot of fun lol.
23!?! I have the same car 3.3l v6 limited and the car says I average 15mpg (which may be wrong)
@@rohm1269 depends on how you drive. If you drive conservatively, you can get around 20-23mpg combined. Me, I drive a little crazy. And I average around 13mpg 😂😂😂
Man honestly idk how, i averaged like 18mpg combined in my 4cyl💀i’d drive it around my town as efficiently as i could and it didnt make a damn difference😭

Greetings from Goblin #197 ^_^ this is my alt account, I have a few build videos over on my main account channel user name: SwerveMonkey hope you get a chance to take a spin in this some day... figuratively and literally ;- )
curious as to why you didn't pull the PCV hose from the valve cover instead of the turbo? is it harder?
You actually can't- the hose is integrated into the valve cover, so the only release is on the turbo side. No clue why, bc its really fucking hard to take off that way, but that's classic GM engineering.
