My grandpa used to do a routine just as crazy as that. His garage/workshop was a bit wider on the sides but had barely enough space in length, and the way from the garage to the house (the house was lower than the garage as it was in a decline/hill side as it tends to happen in Mexico City) was through a supper narrow staircase in the front of the garage, so everyone needed to exit and go down before he finished parking, then he'll get through the passenger side (no space left on the driver's side), close the steel gate (the gate wouldn't close if the car was not all the way to the front blocking the stairs) and then roll back the car just about 15 centimeters (pushing/bending the steel curtain) then he'd climb down making himself as thin as possible to clear the front of the car. And he had a fairly small car.
