I'm convinced you're a wolfquest god. I could never do this challenge; I freak out if my territory is less than 13 hexes. You did so good!

This is probably bad to say but why didn't the devs make it possible to off the dog? It's a weeny, a wolf could easily snap it up and carry it off for food. My partner and I thought it would be a cool mechanic if you could get rid of the dog and everytime you do the farmer gets a bigger/stronger dog. Maybe even multiples at some point? It would be cool considering the fact there are feral dogs in lost river that aren't small weeny dogs, so we know there are other dog models available to use for the concept. Again i dont want to be morbid or anything but i was confused asf when i saw you couldn't bite the dog.

I love the idea of that challenge! I wanna try it and I'm going to probably die on the first night😢

I tried it on Easy and it gave me 7 PUPS. And I failed even though I was on easy-

The best den defense strategy is to throw woofs (having woof and tail wag or ear emotes in favourite so you can spam both with no cooldown) just like USSR their infantry in 1941, always works. Always have your affinity high so the pups wont become reslowed and go on suicide missions, so that you can go hunt. My wolf has a combination of 0 strengh 1 stam -1 speed 2 hp (with perks) and thats what it will be to age 5 until he hits 6 bc then you dont have that much perks. This wolf i use is literally for everything, it can hunt effortlessly with how much stam it has and hp with the default strenght, and actually longer hunts are much better since i still can catch up and hunt even pronghorns (on other difficulties including the easy mdoe) but with my huge amount of stam and hp i can both weaken my preys stam and hp. So yeah thats my preference i also use youthful prowess to just have those other bonuses, maybe this would help someone finding their prefered playstyle.

I have a idea for a really hard challenge. Basically, you just combine multiple challenges, and put them all into one game. for example Bunnies only and one hex etc

their rancher did not think about how Dachhunds were bred for badger & burrow hunting, not wolf hunting.

Could you try the realistic challenge? Basically you turn to accurate and turn your HUD off and music off. So now you can’t see any notifications. I tried it and I somehow survived all predator attacks since I couldnt hear the music or it telling me.

I love being a nomadic pack! Once their at 15 pounds i take off, since they are faster. Then i kinda just wander with the pups, usually for achivements. Travelled across the map for hellroaring things, reckon the entire trip before needing hunters homestay and settling down for a bit was easily 60 hexes, maybe more, i find the summer bit easier when nomadic bc you can hunt with your pups. Usually if me and mate suddenly sprint off after a herd, our pups follow, then once we attack they hide. They can eat from the carcass too which makes life easier. Really hope the saga will be for current saves too, i had a litter of 7 for the hellroaring bit and they stuck it through, so i want to see them grow up!

I played this game YEEAAARRS ago, and I refuse to hunt at the farm. It was always so scary to me as a kid.

I tried this challenge as well (except I didnt do it on monday), and once i tranqualized the rival, the game locked the door so no one could get in or go out until I placed the body in the box.

At first I thought it was crazy that you killed 2 calves, because no way you were going to be able to eat both- but I had no idea you could come back later and finish up the carcasses! I guess I just assumed they despawned during the day. Guess that would've of made this challenge impossible, especially with so many pups. Great video, and congrats on the successful challenge! (well if you focus just on that one last pup of course lol)

Honestly I’m shocked you didn’t run out of calves to hunt! They don’t respawn like elk not even during spring, so the possibility of running out of calves and having to hunt the adults is very real

I'm playing in custom mode, with my own rivals and 99% of the eliminations are not peaceful, the only one that is peaceful is my seventh rival where I need to expel her from school. I planned a relatively good strategy: In the first week I eliminated the rival on Monday and completed all the student tasks, on Tuesday I bought the socialization bonus and increased my reputation to 100, after that I bought the extra study points and I increased all attributes. The rest of the week was basically that, increasing attributes, working and returning home. (Meanwhile always leaving letters and gifts for Senpai and I joined the newspaper club). In the fourth week I eliminated the female delinquents (I called each one to the rooftop and eliminated them there) and then I got rid of the rival. Then I sold the rich girls to the Yakuza and made some good amount of money. The rest is just eliminating rivals and increasing the school atmosphere.

Man, its probably a miracle that you succeeded! I probably wouldn't have lasted cause Im not so great at the cattle ranch. And every time I go there at night its always bad luck and I can't find any single calf that I can take down without the mama's next to the calf 😭 Id love to do a challenge like this but I don't think it would go well for me, I would probably have to practice before I have pups to even do one T-T

Hey there, cool vid! A little while ago I decompiled all the code regarding how the cattle ranch works (you can read the summary of my work on the ranch traps page of the wolfquest wiki), here’s a couple little fun facts about how it works that you can see happen in the video: - the amount of time it takes for the dog’s barking to alert the rancher is randomized - the rancher always has to wait at least 15 seconds after being alerted before he can shoot (it can be longer, but not more than one minute) - the rock music is a random event :) doesn’t do anything, is just fun - once traps are set, there are always 5~ish placed by the fence hole each night, and 15 total randomized - the rancher is more likely to be in the hunting blinds/watchtowers the more often you come to the ranch - the cows get more aggressive the more often you come to the ranch - the rancher is invisible and chases your wolf; the damage and accuracy of his shots depend on how far he is from you, how fast you’re running, and what your max health stat is Anyway, sorry to infodump, I just love the cattle ranch and think it’s so interesting to see the mechanics in action :) looking forward to see more challenges in the future!
