All loads are service loads .. Need to combine using load combos either ASD or LRFD....
Create a complete series of theoretical videos like these and practical videos like design the solar structure using staad, sketchup and skelion, and pvsyst! Please!

On 12:04 I dont get it,.. What the meaning of "0 to h, h to 2h, and > 2h". what I know i the letter h is elevation, but why in that video, h is defined as wind pressure based on length of building
Brother, you are right, "h" is the mean roof elevation, but when wind is blowing in the said direction, then entire length of the building will not experience same pressure, rather, the intensity of the pressure reduces region wise. so 0 to h, h to 2h and > 2h are the lengths of those regions of the roof from the windward wall.

Dear, I am a Structural Engineer and is only able to work in structural perspective.
This is a very well-explained instructional video. I do not deal with wind loads on a regular basis, but on occasion I have to review plans for shade structures or such things. My area experiences a very CONSTANT wind (very strong at times), so I have noticed over the years that structures typically fail here over time from FATIGUE rather than the strength of the wind or gusts. Does ASCE-7 or UBC 97 take that "frequency" of winds into consideration? I am looking through ASCE-7 now, and do not see anything to specifically address it. Thank you.

Why did you use Real dimension for 0.5L? The standard says L is the dimension of roof in along-wind direction (horizontal) so shouldn't that be the projected dimension?
Dear friend. in the specification, Open structure wind load diagram, Length "L" mentioned is for the concept only, but if you follow the arrows marked. it is actually perpendicular to the panel itself. means wind load (in the direction normal to the plate) is to be calculated, and this can only be done by multiplying with the real length of plate. Hope you got the point. if any query then please email me.

There is one question i have to ask ...Determination of external pressure coefficient, for wind direction W-E or E-W , L/B should be 85/40. because L is the horizontal dimension of building parallel to wind direction. Please make me correct if i am wrong. Regards

The wind directions used do not correspond to your values used for L and B. Also the values shown for velocity pressure, qz & qh, are incorrect.
