I never resented or hated her I actually genuinely always enjoyed her character probably my fave next to Esdeath. Really well made. The people who hate her just hate she was successful killing two members of nightraid.

Heihachi should’ve stayed dead so that the story could progress to the potential for a new saga from the Mishima saga.

9:34 i mean , i still fav her , she definitely is in my top 10 characters in fiction, she got beauty and characterization and power to like her, while doa (and other fighting games) offered many female characters kasumi stood up, sure her apealing is one thing , but there is more to it , an example is mai from king of fighters, she is only bounded by her apealing and maybe sassy nature (same goes with darkstalkers) chun li is iconic , but her characerization really does not go that deep(also she takes a lot of Ls despite calling herself strongest woman in world) kitana is solid character, and she got beauty (not in level of kasumi) , but despite that , she still does not give the same importance of kasumi , because audience might not sympathize with her actions, or her nature , but solid nontheless ayane herself is good character , but again, not in same level kasumi , she is more like tragic figure , if anything else , understandable motivations , but i can't root for her, overall kasumi is strongest kunoichi in world( that's what mai called her in doa6) established herself as pasific but capable of kicking others without really hurting them , she is just too nice to hurt others , beautiful , kind hearted with interesting backstory and motivation to go (that was interesting explaination about her design, it makes sense that a kunoichi dresses herself like kunoichi(not like naruto series of course) , but if you go deeper into this , while it is a classic one, she usually use other dresses , like while she was with muramasa , she was wearing a kimono (same goes when she was home in flashback of doa2) , also as child she had a ninja outfit in flashbacks , also in doa dimension, she was wearing some mugen tenshin green dress with skirt) she even disguised herself as student ...she even has her own ninja outfit when ryu helped her out in doa 5 to settle a little (also kasumi never known outside worlds , or maybe it was haisty desicion which result in , she goes with that dress in first place)... i think her classic design was what she had when she left her clan(and it was not like , she could go outside buying anything , or really caring about to do so, and even so, she is not cruel person to steal from others...and doa 1-2-3 happens almost after each other , so it make sense that she stuck with her classic blue....but damn, she is such beauty) also 4:02 the only time ayane managed to defeat kasumi was in doa3 ,and that was sick kasumi , who could barely move , was so weak that kokoro helped her out and her body was extremely heated that kokoro could not believe that , and still she put fight with ayane and hayate on raw , two of strongest characters in verse without dying or being captured or getting permeant damage, and then she came back to kick ayane's ass in doa 4 5 6 (ayane who could fight armies of demons and fiends in NG3 at time , even her False clone(who is weaker than kasumi) in Doa5 while holding back was capable of handling both ayane and hayate at same time)

If there was a threat introduced late in the manga outside of the Night Raid to humiliate her, forcing her to reconsider her actions, it would've been expanded the character and lead to a redemption arc, but it's not case except for fanfiction.

10:22- in the manga, it's more pitiful, she laments that Tatsumi will not only survive, but will move on to another woman- forgetting about her as will the world in a few generations time- with the added humiliation of her remains literally being the pleasure tool of someone who really shoudl've died ages ago.

1:41- I am convinvced is not a nice man who didn't turn a blind eye to his daughter's obvious budding sadism, but someone just as bad if not worse. Notice how he's more coldly observant rather than legitimately appalled. It's subtle, but its apparent that the evil had to come from somewhere.

I find it interesting that the series went downhill in terms in quality the exact moment Seryu dies, especially the anime. Beforehand, the series was essentially a villain of the week to eliminate obvious scumbags, but Seryu is unique- she's an earnest person who just happened to be taken under the fold of the worst people and raised in the corruption to believe its ways are the norm- creating a nuanced person even if you don't like if she killed a fan favorite. I felt while it was cathartic for some viewers, it was essentially the easy route to keep Seryu as an evil baddie to be conveniently be killed in the Rakshasa arc just so Mine can complete her character arc and be paired with Tatsumi to either die shortly after (anime) or be in coma to be involved in a very questionable relationship with a dragon-turned Tatsumi (manga). And the manga following the anime beats except while more satisfying in some parts, is more pessismtic and even gross in other aspects, with everything even with the victory feeling hollow as it set up for a sequel resolution that will never see a conclusion due to the manga being cancelled due to lack of popularity. When she died, it became painfully black and white again with any nuanced character being killed off for the sake of keeping things cookie-cutter despite declaring otherwise. The more interesting route I'd see is a subversion where she sticks around to be involved with the Wild Hunt, including the son of the Prime Minister, who engage in barbaric acts without consequence. While Wave reacting is expected as the Tasumi equivalent in the Empire, Seryu's would've been far more fascinating. Being confronted with it, might spark some questioning of her motives. It could go in several directions- the Emprie decides to snuff out her budding sense of reason by literally lobotimizing her into a mindless killing monster (the most likely realistic outcome), she dies in a battle with them or shortly after in a heroic sacrifice when the Emperior goes brainwashed to finally do good as a culmination of realizing her errors- going too far for living in atonement, but enough to make ammends (2nd most likely realistic outcome), or somehow coming to realize that Night Raid have a point, change her ways and find atonement through living (unrealisitc wish fulfillment).

My vgm collection is massive, but 3rd Strike and Ridge Racer Type 4 remain two of my most played albums of all time. They're timeless. Truth is, I enjoy individual tracks in Alpha 2 and 3 more, but as a whole package, 3S definitely feels more aurally cohesive. EDIT: I'm a little confused over China Vox 99's sample of Nothing Serious. Is the main hook just a sped-up version of the sound effect you've cited? I have a mid-90's house album that I'm nearly positive uses that same sound.
