David Platt is a biblically disqualified pastor for lying and for spiritually abusing his flock via "lording" his authority over the flock, a violation of the requirements for pastors in 1 Peter 5:3. Period. He did this to himself! His intentions might have been good, like to further the Gospel and missions, but he should not have handled it in such a way that he let his "good" be evil spoken of.

Oh come on….after put his eyes on that HEALTY community, with a lot of potential in terms of people, strategy position and money, he just hijacked it. He bypassed a lot of elders that were active and founders of that church and literally substituted with his own (at least pastors and leaderships). He cancelled a lot of ministries without asking nothing to the flock and lied to them about south baptist and he had the courage to use his ability and knowledge of the scriptures to condemn those people and play the victim role??? Such a smart little man that want act like a big one…..if he desired or a church for his agenda with some specific traits he could go and found one from scratch and not stole one (also healty and well known) and create confusion and sorrow between the sheep’s…..

This was not the meeting, they already had the meeting and the election for the elders. It happens in one shot, they have the meeting and then they vote. The church constitution states that if there is not an 80% majority consensus for electing elders, then they do a re-vote as soon as possible. For the first time, they did not get an 80% majority. It was something like 78%. They were following the church constitution which says "re-vote" it does not say that they do another meeting and a re-vote... JUST A RE-VOTE. They chose to do the re-vote after this particular service and it was announced as such and people showed up to attend the service and then to vote. This video was calculated social media propaganda, made to look like MBC was having a meeting, this was not the case, it was a re-vote. This church being right in Metro DC, has many people who have studied the political theater well, they have money, and they're willing to use all of it... if they don't get their way. Total false outrage, false optics, filmed in just the right way to make it look like he was being silenced during a meeting...and boy was it effective. Here is a direct quote from a former elder that can give some insight into why the behavior of this small faction is patently unbiblical... "the church we built". Sorry folks you didn't build a thing, God built MBC, not you. And that is the crux of your issue, it's all about "your church" and the people in it... and not about Christ and His gospel. The speaker is correct. Shouting out is not conducive to an orderly meeting. I’ve never heard of this church but meetings must be orderly. If you disagree with the speaker, wait for the appropriate time, even after the meeting and respectfully share your concerns.

Wow!! This Church must have had some major problems with threats of violence. Trouble makers aren't welcome in the house of God/the Holy Trinity. Also, in Arizona, it's illegal to interrupt a Church service.
