Sonic Boom gives you Bravery (+30% physical attack). Fury Ring is another 30%. Darkside is 20% (on Divekicks). Being at maximum Unfettered Fury level is another 10% I think. Elemental Materia on the weapon is another 23% or something like that. Stack it all up and Divekicks hit for like 7-9k depending on the enemy and elemental weaknesses. I'm also at max weapon lvl (AKA I beat all bosses and did all side quests on hard, so my stats are maxed out). I actually don't have her folio fully completed (you can tell because I don't have Reprieve applied to her lol), but you don't need to in order to max out her stats.

Its bc he used the ability unfettered fury, which changes her ability’s and attack combo. It’s a new ability from rebirth.

It's for casting Dispel on Gilgamesh if he gets Genji Shield buffs up. I've optimized this run slightly, though, you can bait out the shield with Blizzara, destroy it with basic attacks, and then hit Gilgamesh with a Blizzaga, which is a faster way to stagger him. Requires Swiftcast-Ice though.

you need to get all of the manuscripts for Tifa her weapon levels to 9 (this applies to all characters, at max weapon level all of their weapons will have 6 materia slots). Getting all of the manuscripts requires beating all of the bosses + side quests on Hard mode

Is it better to finish the game at hard before doing the brutal challenges ?

@@will7thsign Finishing it on hard might not be necessary, but getting the 6 materia slots on your weapons for the characters you want to use might be worthwhile. I personally did the challenges first because I like having Gotterdammerung to run through the fodder/mob fights on Hard Mode, but it's really just preference I think

@@BlueEyesLore I personally find it easier to solo, but optimized full parties will obviously have faster clear times (with or without ATB Ward/Brumal Form). Single enemies like Gilgamesh or Sephiroth especially feel easier to me since they don't target switch and are more consistent as a result :)

@@Jetstreamhustla Dragon Claws you get from the box breaking minigame in Corel. Fury Ring is a reward from the Colosseum in the Gold Saucer. Materia, you can get all of them from VR missions or Chadley stuff (battle intels).

@@JPmusicbox Materia and weapon skills from the weapon can affect stats. Enemy Skill does +5% strength for example. And I have Physical Atk +20 from Dragon Claws as well. So probably some combination of those things

@@JPmusicbox Ah, so you haven't maxed out your SP. There are manuscripts that are only available from defeating bosses/completing sidequests on Hard Mode that you need to do to max out your weapon level. When you do that, you will unlock 6 materia slots on all of your weapons and all of your stats will increase.

Yeah, hard defaults to normal, while dynamic sets it to dynamic. I don't think it has a big difference outside of Dynamic having a slightly higher HP total though

Yea to get to level 3 you need two atb but can enter battle with lvl 2 based on folio and weapon. Once you get level 3 you cancel basic attack into another basic attack. If you hold square she does 2 hits. After the second hit (upper cut), hold square again. Keep spamming. It builds atb crazy quick. Again this cancel only works with unfettered fury lvl3.

it is technically impossible that u cant beat this challenge with yuffies brumal spam, its extremely easy. either ur doing something wrong or ur playing with ur feet

I saw a mage Cloud use mainly Firaga (outside of Phoenix ofc) and get like 3:37 or something like that...that also seems promising...! Glad to hear you're still at it :)

@@nepheneethedestroyer Haha. Thanks. I will search for that one. The thing with Tifa is that if you want that really high damage you need to go for that stagger damage, it's not made for a fast time. I will be uploading the winning run and it took me close to 8:00. If you watch it you will see why i find it funny and really lucky at the same time.

@@IxAMxNIGHTMARE He's immune to all status effects sadly. I mostly play solo so with 1 char I know he always opens with that 4 hit combo (3 hits, pause, 1 last slash where he can either stay in place or jump backwards), which you can then use to make him stumble (if he stumbles 5 times before 50% HP, he will get pressured). I know some people say you can take Octoslash with Manawall + Lifesaver, I haven't tested though.

Prooobably, but Galian Beast is pretty erratic even if he instantly nukes the other frogs with an opening Skull Crusher, so it's kind of tough. I think an "idealized" run would also involve Galian Beast starting phase 2 with Chaos Assault as I think perfect guarding that move (the first part as well as the second multi-hit part) would probably generate the most pressure, so you could probably rush phase 1 and then get the stagger on that ASAP, but who at a certain point doing runs for the AI to cooperate isn't very fruitful 😅

@@nepheneethedestroyer I just needed a change because i have done at least 50 Rulers only physical, will try the meme strat for a little bit and play with. The vid is up already and definitely could have been better, sub 4 i don't think will be possible though.

Yeah the wings are so inconsistent to hit with Tifa unless you Reverse Gale and that takes time :( there's also a route where the dragon opens with Incendiary Breath and you just perfect guard each hit lol...but it's a lot less predictable and thanks :)

Sorry to beat you to it :{ The only timesaves that I can imagine are somehow lining up Titan and Bahamut to hit them with Divekicks simultaneously, which I think they are intentionally programmed not to do--when one of the Pulses is destroyed, the animation makes them stumble back away from each other. I've only seen this happen once in like, hours of trying. Obviously this would be a huge skip but just doesn't seem feasible. The other skip is that if you cast Blizzaga while Gilgamesh is doing an animation (Ephemerality for example), he won't pull out the shield, so you can get the Blizzaga stagger buildup without needing to break the shield. Then you can stagger him with basic attacks...I'm not sure how much of a timesave this would be, but it's also fairly impractical to pull off due to the fact that you pretty much need to either cast Blizzaga nigh-instantly on reaction or frankly cast it before the animation is visible.

@@nepheneethedestroyer Yeah. The only time i see hitting both of them is against the wall so they can't stumble backwards. Gilgamesh i did notice that if you use blizzaga when it loses naginata, it's a guaranteed hit, maybe you're not far off there. @@Vulcan_Blaze_ST On thing I found out--I just saw this in a video Kalmashin posted--is that Plasma Discharge does cause him to stumble, so it could be a bit of a failsafe to have up against Sephiroth? You can focus on just Divekicking to push as close to 50% HP as possible while still staying on the appropriate "stumble" timing and getting stagger (or honestly just keep Divekicking while he's pressured and let him go into Fire, not sure how much it matters). Still, hard to see much improvements being made. And thank you!

@@nepheneethedestroyer I thought you knew about plasma discharge, but i don't recommend it. I mean it's useful, but sometimes when the discharge activates, makes the game lag a little making a parry on shadowy chains harder. If you want to use it, need to take that into account.

With the hard mode boss speedkills it's really a lot more about planning than it is pure execution, for this I actually tried moving to a bunch of different positions to see what would let me target the tornadoes the quickest and what you see in the video just happened to be the one I could recreate the most consistently :)

Well I didn't compile all the times I failed to kill Phoenix, haha. It still feels like a 50/50--if Phoenix does the straight line towards the center, it's over, you can't kill. If Phoenix circles a bit or moves somewhat haphazardly, it's possible to hit with Blizzaga (the pattern at 1:31). Sometimes Phoenix will pause a bit in their movement towards the center, and hitting with a Blizzaga there will stun them enough to kill. Sometimes hitting with Blizzaga stuns enough to get a kill in general, like 1:55, where it does reduced damage but is enough to just spam Divekicks. But yeah it's ideal to get Kujata while Phoenix is doing an attack--Rending Talons in particular is nice because Phoenix will always go into Flaming Geyser after, so you have a good amount of time.
