I always thought of him as the nemesis prime of sonic the hedgehog in that he is the emo edgelord evil black version of our main protagonist that is also too cool to be part of the actual main bad guys but also infinitely more powerful than his heroic counterpart because he just built different by a different more eviler guy because hes just that cool (when he tries to steal the sandbox just let him)

Shadow is awesome, has a great and crazy backstory lore heavy, he has a great motivation and reason to do the things he wants to do because of Maria's wish, and when Shadow The Hedgehog first released the following year my father died from cancer so I understood what it feels like to lose a family member. Give me Shadow drinking coffee with lavander incense in a room any day I adore him ❤️
