The Azure Site Recovery agent needs to access the storage in order to replicate it. Could you let me know which virtualization platform you're using? and the disk is showing up as a local disk?

You will need to apply Conditional Access policy in all cases, and for the excluded users, put them in a group and exclude them from excluded users in that policy...

@@AL-Techs i do have a CA in place targetting only the required group of accounts which should have to configure & go through MFA while accessing MS365 services. So when migrating, if i enable - MS Authenticator & SMS, as examples - and set it to All users, this migration/change shouldn't really apply to "All Users", right? but only the group which is defined in CA. Is my understanding correct?

@@AL-Techs yes thanks, 2 more questions. 1. when I replicated a domain joined VM. in the test failover cannot rdp, its says ""The remote computer that you are trying to require Network level authentication, but your Windows domain controller cannot be contracted to perform NLA" whats the solution for this? how to test it properly 2. When in a real scenario, how we can access Azure DR servers, via VPN? and what about the Active Directory in that case?

Hey, have you set up a secondary domain controller on Azure and established a site-to-site connection with your on-premises server? Authentication requires either a site-to-site connection with the on-premises DC or setting up a secondary domain controller on Azure, replicated with the on-premises DC, using either site-to-site, point-to-site, or express route connections.

There's no requirement for re-authenticating MFA. However, please ensure to implement a conditional access policy for all users before disabling per-user MFA. I trust this addresses your query

If the policy is already in place and a migration occurs, there's absolutely no need for re-authentication

you dnt migrate anything, just follow the steps and you will be all done. make sure you have enough licenses if you want to add users

you can still use the licenses you purchased for GoDaddy until they expire, then you need to purchase new ones because GoDaddy will no longer be a reseller for your Tenant, also you can create a temporary password for users and reset all, it is obligatory to reset passwords

One last question you may be able to assist with, if I have another website that is hosted with godaddy and the staffs emails are already in microsoft 365 how difficult is it to move the domain over to another registrar such as blue host?.. my concern is moving the domain over will break the emails even though they are being managed through O365? Or do I just need to set up some DNS forwarders on bluehost to point to outlook?

@@brandonsandoval2661 sorry for the late reply bro, changing the records is easy. when you change you DNS provider, you go back to admin center then domains and let Microsoft change the records automatically. you may face some downtime but that is normal until the records are there

The mailboxes and data will remain in place; they are hosted in M365. You are simply assuming control of the tenant previously managed by GoDaddy.

I guess there are tools to do that, maybe Zerto...but honestly I have not tried it, but one of my customers asked about. but if you have the Azure site recovery set up still there you can failback to On-premises, another option is to download the vhd disk from export disk when the VM is stopped and create a new VM in hyper-v.
