The list I'm using said 655,000 , but Wikipedia says 3.3 million. Was also reissued in 91 and that might have messed up the numbers also. Hard to say

bestsellingalbums.org/ is what I am using, sometimes reporting for countries are impossible to get, but they always include USA, Canada and UK i believe.

@dan-ws2sf i find alot of sales reporting have probably been manipulated by the record companies. bestsellingalbums.org/ gets their numbers through certification , it's as good as single source that I can find on the internet

@ I always admit when I’m wrong and I looked it up, it’s true, astonishingly Quadrophenia only has 1.2 million sold. That’s just nuts to me😳

A night at the Opera sold 6 million and News of the world sold 5.3 Milllion, according to bestsellingalbums.org/ which is where i am getting my numbers. Numbers which i have found can fluctuate a lot , depending on the source and who the record companies screwed over by adjusting numbers.

I checked that site & find it hard to believe that The Miracle album sold better worldwide that Opera & also the Made in heaven album. By the late 80’s queen album sales especially in the U.S. went down massively.

@Sabotage8675 according to bestsellingalbums.org/ it does . All i can say is the record companies played so dirty with the numbers it is impossible to pin down numbers with 100% accuracy.

I have started removing the greatest hits Albums in my newer videos.

@rockin71 I mean, I guess they count because some artists greatest hits don't sell. So there is credibility now that I think more about it!

@smartenuphumans true 👍. If you boiled it down, if they sold they sold. People bought them for a reason. But I also get that it's not new music either.

@rockin71 agreed! If it out sold albums that year then it tells you the state of the artist and how much they are liked.

@@smartenuphumans That is how i looked at it, but alot of people also complained, so I think i might end up making lists with them in it and ones without. Ill have to see.
