Que agradable saber que MIKE OLDFIELD y PINK FLOYD están en lo mas vendido de ese año !!! ambos son de la corriente ROCK PROGRESIVO y eso es lo que mas me gusta , tambien LED ZEPPELIN !!!
Glad you like the list!
Believe it or not
1973 changed music? I suppose you could say that the growth of punk in the early 70's was the start of a downward slide, a slide that eventually led to disco, New Romantics, garage, rap and other such rubbish. The beginning of the era where all creative music Beatles, Led Z, P. Floyd, rock, blues, folk, etc., etc. began to fade away as more young people began to value 'looks' and fashion, instead of talent, musical skill and creativity. Just look where we are now with autotune and singers who can't sing/all sound like clones of each other.
Dark side of the Moon is why i put that in the title, but you make some valid points about the evolution of music and how trends have shifted over the decades. It's fascinating to see how different genres have influenced each other, even if it doesn't always resonate with everyone!
My journey with Eric started since Music from the Elder, most exciting & iconic journey of mine.
Same here, He deserves more credit as a drummer. Amazing
I am not sure how 1973 changed music forever ??
Dark side of the Moon is why i put that in. But i suppose something amazing comes out every year in the 70s and could put that on every year. Judgment call, haha
@@rockin71 Agreed
Maybe KISS's best drummer, but far from the GOAT. Did he influence nearly tens of thousands of drummers from different genres than say Bonzo (R.I.P.) or The Professor Neil Peart (R.I.P.) did? Or Ginger Baker (R.I.P.)?
No, you are correct, and that is the whole point of the video, Eric Carr (R.I.P.) never got the respect he deserved, probably because of the band he was in. In my opinion of course.
@@rockin71 And do you feel he's better than any of those three iconic drummers? He was good for sure. But those three drummers took drumming to an all new level when we first heard of them - especially Bonzo and the Professor.
Cant argue with you on that, but i feel if he was maybe in a different band he would be held in a higher esteem. Without a doubt.
Best kiss drummer and one of the best drummers of all time! Also, his drumming on king of the mountain from asylum was awesome! From a tribute to a Eric Carr on RUclips, a drummer said, "he was like John Bonham playing in the Grand Canyon "
Well said, he was great!
AI voiced garbage.

LUCIFER'S FRIEND -Lucifer's Friend BLACK SABBATH - Black Sabbath DEEP PURPLE - In Rock
For the life of me i cannot find any sales records for Lucifer's Friend, and I will be honest, dont remember hearing them, so i listened to a few songs, wow. I see why you mentioned them. Ill be giving them a good listen this weekend, thanks for mentioning them! Black sabbath sold 1,205,000, In Rock sold 782,000 they didnt make the list this time.
BUDGIE - Budgie
Sadly I couldnt find sales figures for Budgie either.
LUCIFER'S FRIEND-Where The Groupies Killed The Blues. Brilliant album !!!
I am checking them out this weekend. Thanks for the recommendation!
Beatles don’t have an album called Hey Jude although the song is long enough to qualify 😂
@jimmywotton5547 they released it in 1970, it's a collection of b side singles. And true enough on the song haha
He was good with fans.
@@Kiss2000man He was the best. Friendly guy.
I've never understood the popularity of Simon & Garfunkel.
Ya, it's not something I understand either.
Great music! Woke me up from tiredness 😊
@@שאולנקר haha, awesome, thanks!
Thought maybe 3 dog night seven separate fools or schools out by alice would be on this list but hard to argue with this list
Schools out is 37 at 1,000,000 ,and Seven seperate fools was at 62 and 539,060 according to bestsellingalbums.org/ Both great albums too.
School's Out ????
#37 at 1,000,000 Sales according to bestsellingalbums.org/
Lots of great memories listening to many of those albums, as well as seeing a few of them live ....... Black Sabbath Yes Blood, Sweat & Tears Edgar Winter Neil Diamond Yes, I'm old, but those days gave me some amazing memories. Thanks for triggering them!
That is awesome to hear, I'm getting a bit up there, but I was born in 71, so a few of them I missed out on completely.
@@rockin71 Just think, in 40 years time young people will be in awe of the music YOU grew up with! 👍😁
@CharCanuck14 They better be! Hope their parents share music with them.
@@rockin71 Absolutely!
Best album for listening to all the way through: Deep Purple Machine Head (second place: Vol. 4)
Great to see Deep Purple having two albums on this list they were on fire in this era. by 1973 they were the top selling rock artist surpassing Led Zeppelin then it all fell apart thanks to the Gillan Blackmore hatred towards each other. Burn was great, but that was it. Stormbringer was OK oddly enough come Taste the band was better than stormbringer and that was not a Deep Purple album.the end of a great era of a great band of that time, the reunion years were good, but never matched those days.
Well said, a lot of people don't realize how amazing Deep Purple was . 🙌
Wrong jacket cover shown for C.S.N.Y. 4 way street. Great album.
Dam, good call on both. Thanks for pointing it out.
Dude, where do you get your numbers from?
bestsellingalbums.org/ cheers!
I agree. I did have the top four of them though and eight others.
@@timothybyers Thanks man, some great stuff came out in 72
Horrendous music.. what a paradox !!!!
Haha, thanks!
Grand funk #1❤❤
Dam good stuff GFR!
Bloody crap. Where is The Wall, about 35M in sales and of course, The Dark Side of the Moon, 50M, the 2nd biggest selling album of all time, THAT would automatically be number 1, so why is it not in the top 10.
Stay calm Pink Floyd, those were released in 79 and 73 , this is just for the year 1970 not the 1970s
Are these based on sales FROM 1970? It looks to me like a composite of sales, over decades. "Paranoid" going over 5-million was the real tip off to that.
bestsellingalbums.org/ Is what I am using and yes you are correct, totals over the years.
Jethro Tull who is on this list out selling 17 other huge records and selling 7 million copies is NOT IN THE ROCK HALL OF FAME? This seems like it a joke doesnt it?
I agree that is surprising 😮. At least they got a Grammy, although I was ticked Metallica lost it.
& throw in Hendrix Band of Gypsys, Layla,Deep Purple in Rock, Bitches Brew, Atom Heart Mother Get Yer Ya Ya's Out Spirit in the Dark Aretha Franklin, Tumbleweed Connection, The Jackson''s ABC, The Guess Who American Woman Black Sabbath 1st album King Crimson In The Wake of Poseldon
What year was Dark side of the moon released?
"Hey! It dropped in '73. Such a legendary album, right? 🎶"
@@rockin71 You bet, incredible stuff
Best KISS Drummer and my favorite Drummer ever. I met Eric in 89. A kind hearted man with a pure soul. An Italian from Brooklyn I might add.
@anytimefitnessjasper657 that is so cool you got to meet him. That is awesome 👌
There was no album by The Beatles named Hey Jude
Yes there was; I have it. It is a collection of B-sides and singles, a bit of a mish-mash. Of course, it is not something planned by the band itself (as opposed to the label) as an album, and maybe that's what you mean. But it is an album. It exists.
@@harmonium8198 I did a Google search and did find information on it. The info that popped up said exactly what you posted “a compilation of B sides and other recordings not included in other Beatles albums”. It doesn’t come up on Apple Music at all though. All the official albums along with the Red and Blue greatest hits are there but not this “Hey Jude” album.
Terrible music, why not something more 1970 sounding. duh!
Lol. Thanks. Good copyright is hard to find
He was too good! For the band so humble and nice! Best drummer in that band best connection with the fans! His drumming was thunderous! He was a crucial part of the bands survival in 80:s, the two founding members of the band treated him bad to say the least! All due to ego, money hunger and spot light cravings, Carr should have been treated fairly and given much bigger part in the band, to sing much more and his own songs on albums but in reality he was used by the other two in question like the rest who came and went in the band, if there is a term, honest band and if that kind of bands exist or have existed? This band sure as heck! Wasnt one of them!
Thunderous, I like that as a description of his drumming. Wish him and Bruce were treated as partners instead of employees
The music is unbearable!!!
@@sylvialenz84 lol I'll try something different next time
@rockin71 thanx
Uh, Boston's debut album (17 million sold in the US), Frampton Comes Alive! (8 million sold in the US), Led Zepplin IV (over 37 million sold worldwide since its release) need to be included...
Just 1970 for this list. Those will be on other lists for sure!
1970, not The 70s
Eric Carr was THE best drummer KISS ever had. At the time he became a member, he was the shot of new blood that KISS needed to keep onward. He also was much more extremely talented than Peter Criss ever was. He was much more versatile and also, he did co-write a few songs. The songs, "Under the Rose" and "Escape From the Island" were true examples of his talent as he co-wrote both of these songs, which were on their 1981 concept album "(Music From) the Elder", which was THE very first KISS album that Eric Carr played on. IMHO, "(Music From) the Elder" was a very good album. Okay, it wasn't truly KISS, but it's still a very good album. The songs are well written and features some of the band's best songwriting to date. My two favorite KISS songs are on that album, which are "I (Believe in Me)" and "A World Without Heroes". That concept album is severely underrated, IMHO. Again, it is a very good album, and also points to not only Eric Carr's versatility, but also, the versatility of the band as a whole. Not only that, KISS became a much heavier band when he became the drummer, especially when the band performed live. I agree that Eric Carr will always be THE best drummer KISS ever had. The music during the time he was a member shows this in more ways than one. Thanks for uploading. I subscribed and signed up for notifications. Looking forward to more.
Well said! Thank you for subscribing. Honestly I love the Elder too, great songs on it all around, wish it got more respect.
wth is up with the weirdo at 1:36?
Forgot to delete it out, haha. Not sure why it's there in the first place.
@@rockin71 🤣 a wanna be Paul Stanley I see.
Lol. I'll use that if anyone else points it out again.
Dressed To Kill and Creatures Of The Night deserve better😮
Couldn't agree more. Surprised over the Years some were so low
Carr is my favorite, although I love Peter and I think Singer might be a better technician, Carr was thunderous
Maybe the "BEST Drummer" to have ever played for KISS. MAYBE.
My favorite is more likely.
It's not Ace Freeely!
No it's not!
Eh, don’t give him too much grief, for most of my life I thought that’s how it was pronounced. It wasn’t until I saw an Ace interview on the reunion tour when he pronounced it as Fraylee , I had to say it like a thousand times before it sounded normal because I had always thought it was Freely

Good idea, next time!
Cool
Thanks man!
Im shocked their 80s album's did that good considering creatures of the night is the only good one. Hell, some of their 70s albums arent that good.
Im a sucker, I loved them all. But I understand what you mean, but these are LP, Cassettes, CDs and Digital sales over all the years, I think at the time they came out some did not do so well, but nostalgia kicks in and they saw more sales again over and over again.
