Took a vacation from you Ross to check out Phixfox and Norovo who each play homm 2 differently speed wise than you. It was interesting that it could be playthroughed in diverse ways. Now I’ve returned. Norovo only had a small bit of homm 2 content on yt and Phixfox is very deliberate. Pound for pound I prefer how you play. It’s good to be back. I should just join twitch; I’d wager there’s more than just you 3 on there playing homm 2. ✌🏾❤️👾

Stack splitting is more useful in Heroes 3 than in Heroes 2 (more units allowed on the field), and is mainly useful in Heroes 2 in the early game, using single level 1 units as meat shields and to absorb retaliation attacks from stronger enemies.

Speaking of good RNG, I was playing the Pirate Utopia map yesterday, bouncing around with an army of ghosts and a group of 200 black dragons decided to join my hero!

I don't agree with Nomads in B and Griffins in C. The griffin is infinitely more useful, more common, and fly, meaning they can shut down most shooters. True, nomads are faster, but they're also not in large numbers, they don't retaliate, and they have 5 less hp per unit.

I can't pass this level. I have the elves alliance but when I go to the swamps I'm rushed down by 33 swordsmen 31 pikemen with 10 attack and 8 defense hero and the elves are already dead and the artifacts in the top left corner are collected. I'm doing as fast as I can

The hero may have been unnecessarily powerful, but until the very end, the army he was leading was just a bunch of mid-level archers and a handful of pheonixes. Just image if that hero had the usual late-game top-level creatures...

The Halfling (Hobbit) being in the D tier just doesn’t feel right to me. They are inexpensive range units and it is not hard to get many of them relatively fast and early in the game or mid game they can punch some serious damage. You can protect them with the boar or others. Later as the game progresses of course they become more redundant but if used correctly early they can be super helpful. I would put them into C tier

Overall I like your rankings, Khelben. Thanks for creating this content. However, here are some changes I would make: - Move Visions up to C-tier, and even higher if paired with the Diplomacy skill. Having expert diplomacy and visions together is incredibly strong for building massive armies. - Move Berserker up to B-tier. I have been able to win certain maps at various times do to this spell when no other spell could help me. Specifically when fighting giant stacks of enemies that I simply don't have the power to defeat. Bingo - berserk their own troops against them. I have won against barbarians (and others) this way. - Move Animate Dead up to S-tier, specifically if you're playing a necromancer. It's cheaper than True Resurrection, and you can unlock it with a level 3 mage guild instead of the level 5 mage guild required for True Resurrection for other factions/castles. Super powerful. - Move Magic Arrow up to A-tier. It's super helpful as a starting spell from a level 1 mage guild. Unlocking magic arrow quickly can allow you to advance on the map in various ways when you otherwise couldn't. - Move Dispel Magic and Mass Dispel down to C-tier. I rarely use them. If we need to keep one of them at B-tier, let's keep Dispel Magic there. - Move Anti-Magic down to C-tier. I rarely use it since I find myself using other spells ahead of it. To me it's too situational of a spell. - Move Resurrect down to C-tier. I rarely use it. I might even move it to D-tier. - Move Summon Air Elemental down to C-tier or D-tier. I rarely use the summoning spells. - Move Blood Lust up to C-tier. I use it early and often when I don't have access to Magic Arrow, etc. - Move Earthquake down to F-tier. I never use it since I plan other ways to take down castle walls (or not at all). - Move Fireball and Fireblast down to D-tier, putting them in the same line as Cold Ring. I rarely use these three spells, but sometimes I have the need to take out 2-3 enemy troop stacks at the start of combat so that they enemy hero never gets a chance to take his/her turn and cast a spell on me. This is min-max play when I'm trying to avoid losing any troops. So, imagine an enemy hero has 5 stacks of enemy troops, with 2-3 of them being very fast creatures. If Fireball, Fireblast, or Cold Ring can take out 2-3 stacks of them in a single cast at the start of the battle, leaving slower troops next in the enemy's turn, I can then pick them off with my own ranged and/or flying troops that are faster than those remaining troops but who weren't fast enough to take out those initial very fast stacks. Very situational, but very awesome when I can apply it. - Move Set Fire Guardian down to F-tier. Cool spell in theory, but I never use it. I belongs right next to Haunt in F-tier. - Move Armageddon down to B-tier or C-tier. I never use this spell since it kills my own troops, but I occasionally use it with a dragon army that's immune to the spell. This can be very powerful, although very situational getting both a dragon army and the spell together. - Move Mirror Image down to B-tier. I love the spell, but I just find myself using other spells before this one. That being said, it's powerful when it comes into play. - Move Hypnotize down to F-tier. I never use it. It's the worst level 5 mage guild spell.
