Super funsies. I was blown away to discover folks still love HOMM2, but here with Ross he’s reminded me of why. Looks like a great community too. Maybe I’ll join twitch. A+ event ✌🏾👾
This was the map that was included on a pc magazine demo CD back in '96. Played it over and over again. It was the moment I got addicted to the franchise.
I was so sad when I realized I wouldn’t be able to watch live with you guys. Have already watched the vod on twitch but I will definitely watch this again. I really hope you will do this or rather sth similar again some time in the future!
36:35 are you sure about this? I think purple is always on the main land owning the castle below the green player. The difference is only when he’s got dimension door he can bring troops from island to mainland. And I‘m not a 100% sure but I think even with DD he never did that in the vanilla game. Might also depend on difficulty though.
So, I've played the Broken Alliance on Normal, as the Green player, just to see how quickly I can win. Well, not that quickly, it turned out, but then I set the difficulty to Hard and tried again as the Green player. It seems that the enemy to the south - purple I think - has the top tier creature by the end of week two. So imagine my surprise when I had a bunch of Rocs, some halflings, boars, and got wiped by an army of 6 Phoenixes. Try again, Wizard again, week 3, the enemy approaches, right click, several Bone Dragons. Ok, cya later. Ok, I tried again. I thought - I'm not gonna touch the guy in the south - and it worked. The purple player stayed in his area, allowing me to get a second castle, paladins and a lot of archers. Out of nowhere another player appears, well, out of a portal, attacks my weaker hero - not that the stronger one was that much stronger anyway - yep, 17 Titans, when I had barely scraped together 6 paladins. Balanced 😆
Thanks for posting this Ross! Not all of us were able to make the twitch stream.

Wow, 39 days is unusually fast. Were they each forced to livestream? Great idea to host this game, Khelben.
