      Thank you very much for your comment. As a pianist, I find this composition very challenging, and the difficulty seems to be psychological: how to dare to face such pure and bare feeling without running away, hiding or cutting it off in one way or another - especially in front of others. I've done them all, and experienced this kind of fear many, many times... But I think it's really normal and human:) All in all - this composition is exceptionally intimate in nature!

      @@villajasmin9291 You’re most welcome, Jasmin. I get inspired by inspiring musical performance such as your deeply felt performance of Chopin’s Etude in E Minor Op. 28 No. 4. We have two recordings of this piece, one on LP and a different one on CD. Neither come close to matching the profound depth and pathos of your performance. First, both are shorter, and second, neither play the last three chords in a way that causes you to wish the music wouldn’t stop and leave you in a state of, I’m not sure how else to explain this except to say, mystic tranquility. Should you decide to release this on any medium other than U- tube, I would love to add this to our ever growing recorded music library. My overall reaction to your unique performance is that it perfectly captures what must have been Chopin’s intent in writing this ineffably profound music. P.S. I noticed the performance isn’t included on your recent CD release. Please make our day by saying that you will include it on your next CD. I’m sure there are many others who were moved in a similar way that I was. Fredrick Chopin himself would be moved by your performance. Cordially regards @eric.brunnich5272

    • @villajasmin9291
      @villajasmin9291 6 месяцев назад

      Thank you for your comment, and yes, I’m sorry for the singing! But that is how a little story was born, about a musical lesson and ”singing until your instrument takes over” (there is more about this in the description box above). For me this singing is a way to explore and always feel the musical directions, the different levels of colors, the natural forward flowing of music etc; at the same time it also seems to drop out musically pointless and unnecessary "interpretive tricks”. As you said, some memorizing indeed must be happening (I hadn’t thought about that).

    • @lateneum9541
      @lateneum9541 9 месяцев назад

      No, it actually isn't. In bars 41-45, the G naturals are found in the manuscript of Chopin himself, and in the first French edition (1840), respectively. The flats are added only in few later editions (Preference: Henle Urtext Edition, 1983, p. 135). Being notoriously very accurate with his music, Chopin would have likely been aware of using E flat major instead of minor. Furthermore, Chopin used bolder harmonies compared to his contemporaries - so maybe G naturals in those particular bars were too much for them?

      Thanks for your suggestion. The third one can actually be found on my debut album "Drawn with Autobigraphite" and also the complete Chopin's Trois nouvelles études. In my opinion, if I may say, the interpretations on the disc are more advanced versions compared to my youtube performances, maybe also more mature and refined - especially the first étude in F minor, which I am particularly pleased with. (A small glimpse of the third etude is heard in the teaser, the links are found in the description box)

    • @villajasmin9291
      @villajasmin9291 Год назад

      I’m not sure if I understood you correctly, but in triplet (of eighth notes) versus two eighth notes: the first note of the triplet and the first eighth note always come at the same time. The second eighth note falls exactly between the second and the third note of the triplet. When practicing with thought and concentration, the triplet finally spreads evenly, simply and elegantly over the eighth notes like a fan, in an even pulse :)

    The story goes that Liszt on his death bed asked a friend to perform this etude for him, the last music that he would hear as he died. He might have preferred an interpretation like Horowitz's, which is more sensitive and meditative than Fors' rather agitated approach to the music.

    • @villajasmin9291
      @villajasmin9291 Год назад

      Thank you Gordon for your comment, I understand your point. I listened to my interpretation with a critical ear. I think, at this point in time, I would still resort to the same interpretive solutions, with living up to the beauty of the chords - why not also meditative - in a natural pulse, but also with a certain fulfillment of the harmonies. Of course, no interpretation is written in stone, and may differ in another moment, or stage of life. After all, all I can do is to search for my own interpretative truth, within the score.
