KCD2 vs AC Shadows (same but different)
As the saying goes: One is not like the other. This is my take on Assassin's Creed Shadows and Kingdom Come Deliverance II.
Btw, every time I say "historical RPG" in this video take a shot. I'm sorry ahead.
All opinions are my own and I apologize if I'm not well articulate. English is not my first language and tend to speak fast :/

HBO's Harry Potter series is a MISTAKE

I tried to tell everyone since they announced it, but no one listened. Actor should fit the role they are chosen to play, not the character changing to fit the actor. That's not how adaptations work. Hello, I'm the problem, it's me! This one is honestly funny because I went in, got rid off some spiders and then I got this feeling that this has the Jedi Fallen Order vibe, that I love and I thought, huh, let's make it a video. So naturally I ran into, A TRIAL and had to fight without a HUD, which is fantastic because you can't see the cool downs or even what you have equipped but I digress. I...

Buy KCD2 from Warhorse, a studio that gives a damn and just wants to make an authentic game, or buy AC:Shadow from Ubisoft. Company that hates their customers. Hm, I don't know. Do I need to get lobotomized to buy AC:Shadows ? The only hope I have for AC:Shadows is if Ubisoft turns it around and starts focusing on games again and what makes them fun, instead of corpo greed and preaching. Since they are in a bad spot right now they need to do it, or get bought. Anyway, don't pre order guys. No matter the game. I'm personally not buying either untill it releases.
Ubisoft can't turn back, that's the danger of cater to certain people. The moment you stop, they'll eat you alive. Besides, if there was anyone with a braincell working there, they'd figure out that they should invest to Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Watchdogs etc. and not spending hundreds of millions on gems like Skull and Bones or XDefiant. The one phrase that keeps coming up is: "Ubisoft keeps chasing trends instead of setting them." And I'll just add - they are always couple of years late too. Btw, 100% don't pre-order.
The difference is that Ubi is putting a US-Viewpoint, so US views, US mentality, and current US societal topics into feudal Japan; while Warhorse is actually creating something in and about their own country and history. Which for one means there are no US problems made topics, and even if current societal or political topics make it into the game, they'll be czech. Its easy to overlook the fact that current topics were in KCD 1; because people from the US hijacked the entire debate in their outrage over - essentially - the fact that its a european game, not an american game and dev team...It came out in 2018, was in development through the entire refugee crisis in Europe, so ofc there is a huge topic made of the Skalitz refugees, their conflicts with the locals, and involuntary life in poverty inside a prospering town...there even are quests where Henry has to settle the conflicts, help them find work and whatnot... I don't think the so called debate about KC:D is a culture war thingy, but rather the stereotypical - and almost comical - view of some americans that everything is supposed to be about them, and the inability to grasp that not everything is made specifically for them. Same mentality is reflected in shadows, where even feudal Japan has to be appropriated to suit the current US.
You are not wrong, and it's a reason why I think games like KCD or Wukong are such a breath of fresh air in gaming. Only thing I would disagree is that it's not part of the culture war - it is, just not intentionaly. The games are played by US players and the US market is co big that it can't be ignored. That said, I don't think devs should cater it just out of fear of what some american might think. But games are part of culture, therefore they will be used in culture war.
@@zuzisam Yes, games for a US audience make the american "culture war" a topic, and games from/for other markets don't make it a topic, while americans will still try to interpret their topics into it. Thats a fundamental difference though...I think the takeaway is to just not buy games that are marketed to a US audience, and just ignore however the americans interpret messages or sides into games not made for them...
These two games are incomparable. They don't have the same ambition, the same atmosphere, they are very different from each other. I am more interested in AC shadows because I am a fan of it, I liked KCD even if it is very difficult (the fights and the bow). It is obvious that these two games will sell well. I find the rage against Yasuke totally exaggerated and ridiculous. This man existed. Sure, he may not have been a samurai, but it is clear that he was part of Oda Nobunaga's circle, Ubisoft only embellishes reality and fills the gaps we have on Yasuke with a lot of liberties and they have every right to do so because it is a video game, a work of fiction. I will buy it, and I plan to play Naoe AND Yasuke, at least out of respect for the Ubisoft teams and especially for the actors and voice actors. I think playing an African samurai is exotic and a very good idea. That said, it's true that putting him in an A where discretion is essential is surprising, but we will surely have some nice surprises and there will be a subtext. And then, I can't wait to see the duo (who are complete opposites) in action. The latest video announcing the next trailer reinforces my hype (which was already high when the game was announced). I also plan to play KCD2 a little later. I want to follow Henri's adventures again.
They are very comperable, the same way you can compare Dragon Age: The Veilguard and Baldur's Gate 3. The games target the same audience, they release in the same time window, the gameplay is different but the point is the same. I find the rage against Yasuke exaggerated but very valid. Point isn't that there is an African man being portrayed as a samurai, point is a) why they did it, and it wasn't because they just thought it's a great idea but because of dei brownie points, b) if they put white guy as a samurai the internet would be still burning and no one would call it exgagerated and ridiculous - it would be valid concern, as it should be, c) the games should showcase the world past, embelished, yes, but still recognizible. As I as, as a Czech it would insult me if AC set in Bohemia 1400's would include anyone who isn't middle European. Even if it was Italian protagonist and there were Italians in Bohemia - it doesn't represent who we are. It's absurd. Btw, you called African samurai exotic... isn't Japanese samurai exotic enough? I'm also going to play both games, AC as Naoe because I want to play Assassin's Creed as an assassin and stealthing around as Yasuke is virtualy impossible, the same way like the flaming bird outfits in Odyssey/Valhalla were dumb ploy of Ubisoft take more money from players pockets.
@@zuzisam It would be more logical to compare Ghost of Yotei to AC shadows in this case; Moreover, if the protagonist was white (instead of Yasuke), few people would have complained. People didn't say anything about the last samurai with Tom Cruise for example, or even the shogun series. I live in France and I know people who would have preferred a white instead of a black because they think that white people know how to adapt better to Asian culture and are more respectful (so they think that black people are incapable of behaving well and integrating into Japanese culture which is a bad, stupid and dangerous thought in 2024-2025). It is time to accept that Yasuke (the real one) did indeed exist and that he did indeed serve Oda Nubunaga from 1581 to 1582. So if we want to criticize someone, it's Oda Nobunaga and not Ubisoft. If Nobunaga had not put Yasuke at his service, Ubisoft would never have had the idea of putting Yasuke in an Assassin's Creed. It is therefore totally legitimate to put him in a video game. I am French and if one day a game set in the 1500s or 1600s used an Italian or English character as a hero, it would not bother me. If I take your example, I deduce that you did not like AC Revelation. I remind you that in AC Revelation we played an Italian in Turkey. Japanese samurai in Japan are something common in medieval Japan, an African samurai is totally new and unique. I remind you that Oda Nobunaga liked exoticism, that is to say what, according to him, was out of the ordinary, and a tall black man was new in Japan in the 1580s, especially for a great warlord. Ubisoft was right to stand out from other games dealing with feudal Japan. Honestly, I think that putting Yasuke in a video game is a huge advantage in terms of the story. We need to stop being too formal with video games. I liked Ghost of Tsushima but I didn't find that Sucker Punch took risks with this game, they stayed pretty smooth. Here Ubisoft chose Yasuke, a very mysterious man with an atypical and very interesting background. In any case, you won't have a choice, you will have to play Yasuke at some point (probably from the beginning of the game). I just hope that it doesn't scare you or that it doesn't disgust you to embody a black man. Don't worry, you won't turn into a black man if you play Yasuke. The game will definitely sell very well and make tens of millions of sales, if not more. So I'm not worried about Ubisoft.

I'll play both :) Not Ghost of Yotei tho, I'm on Xbox.
As long as AC Shadows is fun and has a good story I don’t really care about any wokeness or historical inaccuracy and I’ll probably only play as naoe as I don’t like the idea of playing as a clunky brute who runs through walls id rather play as a nimble assassin who takes down the brute, I do hope the game is good as I love open world rpgs, either way I’ll probably pump 100hrs into it no matter how bad it is but hopefully we both enjoy it
I'm planning to play only as Naoe as well, because she is the assassin archetype but yeah, it's worth mentioning that they DID Yasuke dirty by putting him into that chunky brute category with hip hop music. It's almost like they wanted people to complain - whcih I'm happy to do. But I'm sure it will be a pretty game with fun gameplay. Kinda like Odyssey.
I have no problem with ethnic and gender differences but I hat gender/race/orientation swaps. If you want ethnic/race/race/orientation other than a straight white males, start from scratch and make original movies/tv series/ and characters. Swaps are lazy and unoriginal.
if they make snape black i am 100% not watching a single episode of the goy slop
It kinda hurts, having the movies revived into shows. I remember the closure I felt, reading the last page of the books and watching the credits from the movies. We don’t let things die nowadays…
Oh, absolutely! I like closure, closure is nice, we should start doing that again.
@@zuzisam Hrajou v tom hlavni roli penize.
I am deeply against child acting. I would have preferred if this was animated. It should be completely taken out of the hands of westerners and maybe given to a high tier anime company like WIT.
I'm actually surprised they didn't go with animated version, it sure would've been cheaper and less of a risk. Commiting to 7 seasons of a TV show is kinda insane.

I'm glad more and more people are still talking about this. The mods over on reddit are banning anybody that tries to speak about Avowed in a negative light. It's absolutely pathetic.
And that's another thing: censorship and toxic positivity, let's see how it will work for them in the long run.
@ It’s making me vote with my wallet a lot, lately. Haven’t bought a new game since Armored Core VI!
They saw what happened to Concord and the others; they don't care. It's about the message they are putting out there. Activists don't care about facts, they care about how much chaos they can cause in an industry. It's literally like a cult. Look how much these goofy clowns spread. Like all of a sudden, they are everywhere in game development now? Nah. It's a gathering and conquering.
There's two big issues in modern gaming. One is taking the culture war there and that's just not really worth engaging, and I don't say hide from it but make game development decisions that make sense for the story and the world. Fan-service, culture war-service.. any other kind of distraction is just away from the setting, theme and story. Second big issue is just bad writing, a lot of the stories these days aren't good stories but moralizing or just marvelized no-stakes bullshittery. If the writer can't care and the characters can't care then i can't care what happens, so i won't play the game.
I agree, as long as the game is good, runs well, tells engaging story and treats its characters and the player with respect, no one cares if the dev no. 52 is blue hair non-binary or christian mom with 5 kids. That is until one of them starts running their mouth online
Wokie Religion: S*x cosplay followed by sterilisation and irreversible body modification .... Sad sad. We don't want this game.
How about you just judge the game on its own merits instead of what someone said on Twitter?
Detransitioner rights.
I don't judge the game, I think it will be decent. I will eventually play it. Doesn't change the fact that if you work for a big company, you either keep THAT information for yourself OR you keep your mouth shut about your opinions, because you represent even off the clock. That's how life works.
And why would I ever want to give anybody that acts like that money? Bitch literally said he hopes I never know peace lmao. Bitch openly said he is a racist that refused to hire people based off their skin color. Fuck him and the game that's putting bread on his table.
Because the things Hansen wrote on twitter are worthy of investigation by his company. At the very least, he should be fired. And if an investigation reveals he has indeed chosen to hire based on discriminatory methods, that is illegal in the United States. This can open him and his company up to civil or even criminal litigation.
I am sure Microsoft is delighted to hear they had this happen. This easily pushes away 50% of potential audience.
If I had a game coming out, I would literally gave everyone who worked on said game a class on how to behave online, because clearly some people willing to sink the ship to achieve absolutely nothing.
@@zuzisam are you talking about the gamers or the game dev's who create these games who don't know how to talk online? i mean if you are just talking about the gamers, you won't be able to change behavior no matter how hard you try, even if you got government involved to help. but on the game dev side, that can be managed because it's a profession not an ice cream social where they can blurt out anything they please and not be effected by it, from my knowledge they all sign a non discloser agreement, so that could be something that exists within the agreement added into it, have it explain that they could run into legal consequences if they blurt out anything within that agreement online and it can effect their future prospects in the gaming industry. so these devs would have a more tight lip because there are real consequences to their actions they don't want happening to them now or in the future.
@@5226-p1e I'm talking about devs of course. What you described is not unheard off. In my company I had to sign NDA about what I post online, I'm a face of my company, like it or not, I and my coworkes have responsibility for its image outside of our working hours. Devs shouldn't have it different, *especially* those who work in lead positions i.e. Hansen.
This is a geveloping story but I find truly staggering how one person can put entire studio under scrutiny. Hansen single handedly pushed Avowed under the bus by being over-confident brat. Congrats man, I hope the lawsuits will be coming out soon.
in my opinion when it comes to the woke stuff, they should instead give the player the choice to opt out of the woke content in the game, just separate this content in an alternate download of the game, like a optional bethesda high resolution texture pack. that way the game company doesn't piss off the ppl who hate this stuff in the game and it also doesn't piss off the ppl who want it in the game, the base game content will be non woke and the optional download will be for the woke stuff. they should also have some kind of statistics checker to see how many ppl downloaded the woke content in comparison to the ppl who only downloaded the non woke content of the game, to better understand where the vast majority of the audience stands on the whole woke issue. now it makes sense to put the woke stuff in the optional download for better sales of the game because it will likely mean the game is a success, but it should never be released together, like put the optional download as separate content 5 to 6 months down the road. i think all games could benefit from something like this.
@@5226-p1e The problem with this is what do you define as "woke," is let's say, same sex relationship between two NPC's woke? For me, no, for someone else yeah. That's why I don't think this could work, in some cases it would literally break the game. Not to mention the discrimination lawsuits that would follow. But then again, you can opt out from the woke stuff when you write your game well, again BG3 is perfect example. You can be the Chad, roaming Faerun with your hot girlfriend Shadowheart OR you can be nonbinary gnome who is boning the hunky bear, no judgement, it's up to you and that's how you write a game for everyone.
@@zuzisam it's all explained in pretty much everything the left wing party advocates for, since they coopted the word, they started using it in the context of what woke meant, so we have to use their standards since this is how they describe the word. and in their eyes same sex relationships is considered as woke, because it was them who broadened the meaning. why would there be discrimination lawsuits? when they placed both content to the game, one is just separated in another optional download file, so they both still exist in game, no need for any lawsuit. the game can still be for everyone, but they have to cater to the majority audience first and foremost, in which this case as well as all failed games based on the woke ideology, "i understand Baldur's gate is considered an exception, but not the rule" and what would it break in a quest to do this? in my opinion, all they would need to do is create alternate character's for the missing ones that the optional DLC content provides, so the game has both options, and caters to both parties, but they have to cater to non-woke party first because these ppl simply will not bow down to the woke content in the game, they are willing to bankrupt a game if the game doesn't meet their standards, and they happen to be the majority of gamers who control whether a game makes it or flops. the point of all of this is to provide the option for both parties, but doing it in a way that will be accepted by not only the majority gamers but also cater to the minority of gamers and the studio doesn't need to go bankrupt and have to sell. my whole point is to not cause the whole gaming studio to go bankrupt but while also providing what ppl actually want in the game. again i know balders gate offered both options in the game, but from my understanding the game was also written well and it was fun, not a lot of games these days can seem to meet that standard sadly, and the main concern for the majority of gamers is the woke stuff, then they talk about the other issues of the game, like performance or gameplay loops or story, i mean everything matters in the overall rating, but the most hot button topic ppl will not fold on is the woke stuff. they kind of did something like what i'm talking about with that most recent Spiderman game, in America they sold the woke version, but in Saudi Arabia they sold the non woke version of the game. i mean if that studio did that, some folks questioned if they were really for the cause of the woke messaging or if it was just so they could make money by not making a woke version of the game. i suppose they could also sell the game separately for other game studios, make a woke version or a non woke version, but i don't trust that they would do this kind of thing, it's far easier to sell the same game but have the optional download.
@@5226-p1e They don’t have to cater to the majority audience, first. Some games are made specifically for niche audiences. Look at shmups that sell only around 10k copies, for example. Most people do not care about woke stuff in games. The people who are critical of it are somewhat a minority. The majority actually either doesn’t care, or doesn’t follow gaming news.
Baffling traash was written by a non binary person. A trashy non binary person.
All the devs on this are infected with blight
Veilguard has set back LGBT 20 years.
As a long time Dragon Age fan who loves all 3 games because they have something I like, I personally consider Veilguard to be dead. I regret that Corypheus didn't win in DAI.... They destroyed everything in this game, lore and every faction, for example imagine the Antivan Crows... who are now such a nice honorary guild of nice assassins, family and such XD do they know what an ASSASSIN'S GUILD is? or Lucanis who is probably Puss in Boots from Shrek. Too much writing about all the mistakes... it's just a woke friendship simulator...everytime when i heard Manfred hissing i wanted to punch something
I have the answer to your first and last question: Trick Weekes wrote the character Tash, which is truly baffling because this is the same person who wrote Solas, lol. They were also the lead writer of the Trespasser DLC. Additionally, they wrote Mordin Solus and Tali'Zorah from Mass Effect. How the same person can produce such a wide range of quality in their work is beyond me.
Infected by blight. I'm convinced they're all infected by the blight.
Great video 👍
I've wondered at your central question myself. For sure the obnoxiousness of Traash is the immediate elephant in the room. She's not just the typical brash, tough character: she's an infantile, wishywashy idiot. And also for sure, we've not seen many "non-binary"/trans characters in games, certainly not a full companion in Dragon Age, and they've corralled the player into enduring the idiocy of that character, so it was a very deliberate choice. So why deliberately add an unskippable, in-your-face idiot character at all, much less a "non-binary"/trans? I've got only two theories. One is just the pure hatred that the current dev team for straight white guys in general, but also you see from the cc restrictions that you're corralled into making a far less feminine, even an outright masculine female character which is deliberately antagonistic to straight guys but also bisexuals and lesbians- and to straight women who simply want to make a female character w curves. The current dev team is completely unapologetic about it w no intention to extend the cc max sliders because they're looking to antagonize the bulk of the players who've loved the franchise. So it was even more inflammatory to add a particularly obnoxious Traash character who you're corralled by the game into never contradicting or telling how immature they are, indulging them w any lame thing they want. The current dev team also harbors resentment for the players for having turned on EA/Bioware for ME:A and especially the commercial flop of Anthem. Not to mention that Anthem was a breaking point for the head writer Gaider and other core Bioware devs that abandoned ship, so the gameworld-destruction in the V-turd has also been against the previous Bioware dev team that left, functioning further as a middle finger. For sure the V-turd smears over the franchise in a way that destroys the gameworld, the lore, the well-known NPCs, the franchise quality... and that was what they had in mind. V-turd is a product of hate. They may have been genuinely so naive that they thought the hate of straight white guys would sell well or cynical enough to believe that people would just overlook everything because it's a nominally Dragon Age title... but they did NOT think this would be nice to DA fans. Nor did they seem to care that it sold well since there are full nations banning the game for its needlessly hamfisted "representation". My other theory is a conspiracy theory based on just how many games have come out during this election year in the US which feature unlikeable "representative" characters, fueling a constant rejection by gamers- particularly straight white men, but also just straight men and men generally. V-turd itself was plopped out literally a few days before the US election day. It was to push people who would ordinarily vote left to find the left completely untenable and vote for a candidate on the right who has nothing but the worst intentions and wouldn't have been elected otherwise. After all the corpo head of EA appointed the Super Queer "queerosexual gendermancer" to lead the DA development team for a reason. This wasn't snuck in under EA's nose. EA churned out this politically divisive turd despite knowing it would never sell, so it's possible it was released precisely because it would affect the election results along w so many other asinine "representations" through the entertainment industry. Dunno, just theories...

Do not play the gender game. Do not use "they" bollshit. Doing it is just enabling the narcissists.
I finished the game Taash is fine, they are well written I got no beef with Taash. The core story is very predictable and if you complete all the character quests they will basically all live. And that to me takes away from the final battles
"taash is well written" ... okay, we can immediately ignore your judgement then. See ya¬
@@STEVEYTHEEXEEVEE you clearly didn’t play the game.
@@eceamo why? cause i disagree with you? no, i dont need to play the game to see how many awful scenes, representation, writing and disrespect the game is to the franchise. you're simply wrong.
DA:TV was NOT nominated for GOTY. I was wrong. What a plot twist. Turns out that GOTY are not just bootlickers but also scaredy cats, who in a fear of controversy just create one. Bravo. Should've seen it coming after ignoring Hogwats Legacy, last year. And this isn't me saying that DATV should've been nominated - obviously not, but that they will rather ignore Stellar Blade because they are afraid that might send wrong message too. Let's just nominate DLC and it will be all okay. A clown show.
It’s funny that they were only nominated for 1 category, it was for accessibility/innovation. I hope they lose that one too 😂
I was also surprised. I was sure that Bioware already had a deal behind the scenes to win GOTY and boost sales. Glad that Failguard isn't nominated tho. I hate that game so much, it destroyed my favorite franchise.

DLC's should have their own category and should not be included in GOTY nominations. The whole thing sounds like a joke tbh.......
The faces look uncanny valley to me. I wouldn't call them ugly for the most part, but not cute either. They're like doll faces that move... and doll faces shouldn't move, making it vaguely unsettling. As for who it is for... the devs. It's been said 'games as therapy', which seems accurate. It's said art should be made for yourself, but entertainment should be made for the customer. What we have here is art, not entertainment. That's not to say it's GOOD art (I haven't played it so I can't say), but art regardless.
Obnoxious, ugly, puts themselves before others, demands that their incredibly niche lifestyle/illness/self-induced psychosis with disproportionately high and horrific negative outcomes is fit to be on the equivalent of tried and true social and cultural norms that have withstood the test of time when their own is typically seen at the decline of decadent empires... Actually, Bethesda is perfectly spot on with this sort of representation.
Their mediocre at game design and decided to political charge the terrible story. They Walked into a perfectly nice house, said "This one is for the homies" and took a giant dump in the middle of the living room.
In all of the dragon ages I have played...... this one is where if give the choice I would have sided with the bad guys.....this is not an rpg if your chooses do not matter
That's the joke. By the time you are done with playing (for me it's like 10 hours, I can't do it anymore) you want Solas and the Elves just to kill everyone and destroy the world. If I could as a Rook side with him - I would. But that's the joke - the game won't let you because.... they know.
@@zuzisam They pretty much killed the history of past games...everything, everyone....we fought for nothing......No the joke is if you get the secret ending....looks like they left room for another game down the road....no one will trust this company again with their money.....hardest thing to get back for any person in life and or in love is trust.
you can't side with the bad guys in any dragon age actually.
@@nocturnal03 but this is one that I would like to see it in O:) not sure if you read it right...if given the choice is what I said......
@@nocturnal03true but, we did have the choice of killing off companions or at least be rude and dismissive towards them. In Veilguard, we’re forced to be nice and supportive only.
This game has bad everything, not just representation. Untalented writers and devs on charge of datv made a bad product with bad representation, bad dialogue, bad relationships, bad story...
Also BG3 is the best comparison because BioWare made BG and BG2. They were the kings of rpg games, once upon a time, that's the standard they're being compared to: their own company's past and legacy
This is what happens when you hire people based on who they are and not what they can do.
Its almost as if the EA corporate elites intentionally trying to ruin Bioware. But the radical fandom just wont let it die because of the culture war stuff, lol.
My main problem with Veilguard and pronouns or term 'non-binary' isn't just situated within the context of this game or a fanstasy/medieval setting it's taking place in. For me as a European and for many other people, the translation for Veilguard is absolutley god awful - in other languages the inclusion of pronouns doesn't end at "they/them" ocasionally used in caracter creation or within the game's dialouges. Our translation has been compleatly butchered. In my language we add gender-specific suffixes to verbs, adjectives, also all nouns are inherently of the feminine, masculine or of neuter gender. Because the woke-crowd can't really settle for using plural form (crazy people and demons use plural) or being reffered to as "it" (well, obvious reasons) so they've come up with compleatly MADE UP suffixes instead! Now imagine something to that effect - you're not only made to call Taash "they" but also construct sentences like "Taash was thinkinx", "Taash looks beautifulx" - because that's exacly how it is for me when I play with translation. This absolutley takes a dump on my cultural identity and will NEVER be accepted. It's usually the final nail in the coffin for games with that kind of superficial inclusion and will continiue to be rejected. We as audience want well written, complex characters, not the inclusion of feminist slang from 1995 NYC and pamphlets written by activists who don't care about their own language, let alone other cultures. So please, woke-devs - take a wide fkn step back before you make another attempt at destroying my native language. World doesn't revolve around English and this is not a way to win any culture war you're currently waging. My country wasn't on the map of Europe for 123 years at one point in history and my language had survived. Make no mistake - we can survive your propaganda and come out on top, eeeasily.
(Angry upvote) The problem is way bigger than you think. "They" want to be respected while disrespecting other cultures and values, sometimes even their own. It also looks like it's a typical shift of "the oppressed are trying to become the oppressor". I don't have anything against LGBT folks because as a materialist and Marxist I know where all of it comes from, and I do not blame them, BUT the moment they try to force their views and values onto still a majority of NORMAL people, I'll fight back ferociously. People hate labels and being hated based on the said labels, but at the same time they come up with more stupid identities and stuff, and for what? There are only two genders - biologically you're either a man or a woman, everything else is an artificial and NOT needed construct created to keep the society divided and confused. If anything, those people need a proper medical and psychiatrical help, which, guess what, they cannot afford due to bs health care systems everywhere, in any country! And so, instead of uniting for bigger cause like improving health care, economic situation et cetera for everyone, we all (not only them, but also normal folks just from different industries) just sit in our own bubbles either fighting for stupid and meaningless ideas, or doing nothing and not caring about people of poorer professions like drivers, delivery workers, outsourced staff and many others. After all, as one smart grandpa once said, "People always have been the foolish victims of deception and self-deception in politics, and they always will be until they have learnt to seek out the interests of some class or other behind all moral, religious, political and social phrases, declarations and promises."
100% but then again, these people are willing to destroy language, history and the very reality just for brownie points from some activists. (And obviously the BlackRock money)
lmfao, beautifulx???? The dialogues were already giving me litteral migraines in english! I'd have lost it!🤣
@@eestiny9734 yeah, I've used -x as an example but it really is like that "latinx" bs but done not only to nouns but verbs and adjectives too - they're trying to enforce those translations even tho it simply exposes their whole ideology as fake af. What kind of inclusion is it to destroy other translations to the point where it's laughable? It's really tiering to push back against but push back we will.
It's really horrifying to know that Corrine Busche forced all female characters in Failguard to use only men's physical and facial structure because that's what HE thinks realy women should look like.
The more algorithm feeds me Veilguardians critique, the more sound of mind non-American voices I discover. Love it.
I feel like adding Taash into the game is the decision that caused this games downfall. Now Biowares reputation is ruined and huge parts of their fan base are disenfranchised. I am not sure if they should even keep working on Mass Effect 5 at this point. When it comes to selling the game, they will most likely face an uphill battle. People will expect another Taash situation, especially after they already made Liara use "They/Them" pronouns in the Mass Effect board game. If anything, Mass Effect 5 will probably even have less sales than Dragon Age: The Veilguard.. especially if the identity politics leak before the game comes out. It's okay to add "diverse" characters like Taash as optional content. Putting these characters front and center is a terrible decision though. Especially if their entire companion story is all about "identity". They call her a dragon hunter, all she knows is how to blow a horn and prepare bait.. something every hunter in Thedas probably knew how to do. Her story should have been about dragon hunting. The pronoun-thing? One dialogue, giving the player a choice in regards of which pronoun Rook uses and be done with it. If they had done it like that, no one would have cared. Making Taash look odd and writing her character insufferanble and stupid did not help her case either. I now expect there to be an Asari that looks and acts like Taash in ME5.
They will make Mass Effect 5 because it's the last hope for BioWare to even stay open. Pretty sure EA will give them ultimatum, you either make this good or you are done. With that being said - I don't think they can make it good. They can't fire people like Corinne Busche and those They/Thems writers because it would "look bad" so maybe they'll get different positions within the company but they are staying and they will push the agenda. You are absolutely right tho, Mass Effect will have it hard because everyone will remember this nonsense. DA is dead (until 10 years from now BioWare will be gone, someone in Larian will get bored and gets the rights and make a new game, but I digress, lmao)
@@zuzisam I'm not so sure that EA will give them an ultimatum like this. Dragon Age 2, Anthem, Mass Effect Andromeda and now Dragon Age: The Veilguard were all games that made EA unhappy if I'm not mistaken. For EA standards Bioware already got a lot of second chances I think. The only reason they are still there is probably Dragon Age Inquisition, which sold 12 million copies as far as I know. I can see EA cutting their losses at this point, especially if Mass Effect 5 ends up in development hell as well.. The Veilguard ended up there for a while and now we all know why 😅 But should they make it I think the same thing as you. Personally I believe these DEI hires resulted in a bad echo chamber at Boware. I am sure there were lots of people at Bioware who were not happy with Taash, but can you imagine working there and speaking out about this? Anyone who would do this would probably be called a bigot and ruin their own career with that. And because of that, I think Bioware suffers from a huge toxic positivity issue, which can probably not be solved as long as certain people work there. I do like the idea of Larian Studios creating the next Dragon Age though 🙂
Mass effect 2 is 2 crew member non-binary.
Its some tumblr user's Self Insert in a Dragon Age skin by someone who's never played Dragon Age.
I'm on Tumblr and I 100% believe Corinne Busche has Tumblr account. That platform loves this game.
Nope, it's actually someone with experience, and they've done great work previously. This is the same person who wrote characters like Solas ALSO Tali and Mordin from Mass Effect, which makes this even more disappointing.
The game wasnt made for playing, its more like a political statement and devs treated it in terms of, if u dont like it, youre the problem.
It's worse - it's butchered political statement. They messed up big time.
normal people doesn't have SEX in mind every time….. games as therapy for psychological problems is a bad choice, you will piss off only the 90% of customers…
My character in Slytherin also had red hair. I just thought it was much more fitting.
