I'm a ex military and a member of military veterans, I understand in this scenario productors ask in this society in this TV show everybody didn't know zombies and this alternative society didn't "create" zombies in history, legends so everybody has shocked than our society which know zombies and how killed zombies ( Thanks Max Brooks and Georges Romero) thanks for movies, halloween or tribal cultures with vodoo. But see US military butchered , scaterred by zombies and see one group of survivors with Rick Grimes a shérif officer with his son and friends killed thousands of zombies. I'm smiled guys. These TV show didn't respected military and see that military plans is killed many non infected people with bombardments or evacuate them downtown or cities centers. I'm joking so much. 🤦🤦 Evacuate survivors in countryside, reorganize US military and create military alliance with others countries ( France, UK, Russia, China) Contained infection at all cost but don't create fucking CRM army and dictatorship that killed many prime if they want 🤦🤦🤦 If we are a zombie, the other enemy who destroy us with virus is ourself read World War Z book, love it !

This is why I shouldn’t watch The Walking Dead. If the zombies are like from 28 Days Later, it’s a lot more believable and I can see why they lose a unit like that.

My favourite FTWD setting was the hotel with the jetty - luring the zombie guests out of the hotel and to the end of that jetty was gold. Still not sure if zombies actually drown (Max Brooks clearly didn't believe they could but it was still a great ending). Sometimes you just have to go with the flow where zombies are concerned ;)

The Soldiers probably killed their own. There is no way they lose to a group of infected unless the run out of ammo. Standard issue is 120 rounds. Once headshots are found to be effective it would be a flash priority message. The fact that no one stayed on the big guns in the trucks means they have probably been out for a while and some were done with the mission. As the man said he was heading to San Diego.

Look I understand, they were holding and killing dozens of people. But it pissed me off how they just decided to kill an entire army outpost to save the already dying old lady and a repeat continuous drug abuser.

I wish we could get a spinoff series about all this. US military operations. World governments censoring news seeing it happen real time, scientist looking for answers. Then finally US national guard fighting back against the US military. They could do a multi season spin off of states, countries entire continents all with each of those details. Kinda like the book of WWZ, not the movie obviously, and see how every country tried handling the situation before, during and after.

Probably more realistic considering how a bunch of 3rd grade educated goat farmers in Afghanistan took over the place in 5 days after our military had been there 20 years. And those guys, like the dead walkers had no tanks, Air Force or drones.

Man as much as I love the WD series and spin offs, I can't stand seeing anything military related. It's deplorable. It's not even the accuracy that bothers, me, more of the stupidity. Even the POGiest POG of all the POGs should be able to correct half the stuff you see. From the stupidity to the lack of care when it comes to dialogue, uniforms and tactics, it's like a child wrote these scenes. They make the military look worse than Star Wars Storm Troopers. In actual reality, any infantry would be having a blast with targets that move like snails.

Why the Military especially the army are always shown as Dumb F..ks they never show strategy or tactics this is unreal they never used any grenades Flame throwers l believe that high school kids in ROTC could do a much better Job SMDH.

The unit shown in the video are members of the California Army National Guard, 79th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (I can tell by the patch on his shoulder at 0:39). over 20% of this Brigade has deployed to Afghanistan prior to the events of the walking dead timeline, most of which were infantry and MPs and shown here. That being said, there is quite literally no reason for them to be THIS incompetent, especially given all of their combat experience, some of the guys in this video even had a deployment patch on their right sleeve indicating they've actually been down the wire.

It’s actually irritating to watch these shows or movies as Hollywood loves showing the military as bumbling fools who can barely survive a group of slowly attacking newborn babies. It just ruins a lot of these scenes.
