All wings had the same save time for the patrol. Asp Raider did have the luck to face only 6 enemys? Moreyas did make some wrong decisions. Cutlass is not really Epic. Yasur is on another level. V7.10 Beta 5 Timelines Release 20.06.2024 I actually didn't want to test the beta this time. But Egosoft hasn't managed to fix the Odachi's towers with a hotfix since the release ( 45 days ago) of Timelines, so I have no other choice. Just a hint, a little sample, how amazing X4 could be, if each Sector was a full Solar System. Such a scale would also validate the Highways, Super Highways and accelerators for once. They would make travel between planets and moons much more interesting.

Your Xenon capitol ships shoot a lot less than the ones in my game. Playing modded?
No, no mods. Maybe it was a bug, i do not know. At least the I does shoot. I observed these Xenon roaming around for some while, maybe some turrets had a defect🧐
@@egoaut In my game, if you take a Behemoth E that close to an I, you'll get a gravaton turret lightshow that will kill the Behemoth in about a minute. I wonder if the rng difficulty at seed gen affects Xenon turret power and behavior.
I do not think so. In the end of the video, you see the I gravs shoot. Nevertheless like mentioned in the end, @31:00 those Behemoths lost, what i did not say is thst they got killed.😢 Phoenix E did a much better job👍

I only recently got my first H, can it with its 70 drones take on any other L or even an XL ship?
With 16x S docks it can do everything, but you need to adapt your tactic.
@@egoaut Any tips for drones specifically?
First destroy engines (tricky with I) and XL shield generator first. Best by yourself or with S ships(w. some burst rays), drones are slow but hard to hit but it could work.
@@egoaut That... sounds just about the only way you could properly do it anyways... Most important is taking out the engines, and because the drones probably can´t reliably do that, you do it yourself with a fighter and Burst Lasers: fast in and out and hopefully with both engines gone.
The fastest way is doing it yourself with a burst laser S-ship, destroying the XL shields and maybe engines. I have done this a lot back in the days in early games, mostly drones from nearby stations finished the I or K. With the right timing, you can earn a lot of bounty Cr. But your first question, if 70 drones can break the tank of an I is realy interesting. Maybe i will try this in a future video.
i tried many times get into the game but some stuff just keeps me off... even high end top notch pcs have poor performance. and the afterburner/shild thing is just stupid if youre in a small ship and need to flee fast you have to sacrifice youre shilds?? cmon

That´s exactly the point: if you flee, you don´t need the shield, it´s the distance that protects you, so the shield literally becomes your rescue by being turned into speed. In the previous games the boost only was to accellerate to max speed, but i like it this way, it gives you an tactical advantage for which you have to pay. Especially since you can no longer jump with your ship whenever you want. Key is to judge when you need the shield more and when the speed.
One thing I don't get. The fighters are cool and all but quite weak and takes some decent time to take things like l class ships down. In small skirmishes they can at least work. But tactically it's not effective. Few reasons. The enemy fleet has fighters too and intercept yours from bombardment runs. or too many L class ships where thier turrets will tear the fighters apart. I get fighters are the first squad to probably be able to buy. But later on when you have L class ships at least they should be the bombardment squad unless there are a few exceptions of course. But I'll usually make fighters anti fighters. Xl class don't engage in fleet battles or stations well other than a select few so they will hold any fighters i have. If the enemy is large enough I will use fighters or m class ships to defend the L class ships. These are how I wipe sectors out and wish for domination. If I want to steal a ship though. Fighters taking out hard points becomes important to protect boarding pods and shouldn't destroy whatever ship you are trying to steal. But honestly a lone frigate with a compliment of fighters will work. Has the most marines on the frigate for boarding and room for a compliment of fighters. But fighters in this game for bombardment on their own just aren't good imo.
S ships are the best to combat L/XL. Frigates and AI Asgards are too stupid and (still) behave like lemmings. Only the player can handle the big ships properly. I'd rather lose expensive S ships than expensive L/XL with good crew. Edit: with 7.0 i observed Asgard hitting station with mainbeam 🤗
@@egoaut And once you can produce them yourself the "expensive" becomes quitely insignificant., it´s more a time issue then. Since the wharft can create a LOT of fighters at once, well, mass production IS a thing, right? ;)
Never forget, everything has a value. You could sell your build ships and get money, so you lose money when you produce for yourself 🤓
@@egoaut Not if you use them to gain more money, then it´s an investment. Protecting your stations from Xenon is definitely a worthwhile investment, i´d say XD
Since we have no means of prioritising L turrets when issuing attack turrets orders, the "defangers" waste time trying to kill the M turrets as well. That is why, as soon as you send the "strippers", your bombers should be on their way, as well as your interceptors. March divided, fight together. Anyway, very fancy tactics, I just bring my carrier/carriers in range, and select launch for bombers and interceptors.😜

@@egoaut I have something better, a concept that I love, bombers with interceptor capability. For example, a wing of Chimera with 4 thermal and 1 torpedo launcher (my bomber Chimera config), select Position defence for the wing, drag the circle were the enemies are, all targets will be engaged, be escorts or capitals, superior to attack all in range, because PD keeps your fighters in the area until you remove PD. Or, in case of fighters with 4 guns slots, you can try 2 bolt + 2 BM, to keep the bomber/interceptor hybrid capability.
No thats not my tactic. I want to strip my enemys, and then let the L's come. Torpedos are nice, but i want a role for those hatet frigates and destroyers. And i do not want to resupply my vanguard fleet.
@@egoaut To each its own, I just think that "strippers"require too much micro for my taste and destroyers are soooo slow in doing anything, moving to position, targeting, and if the target moves, they have to do that "dancing" all over again, I don't have that much time.

Can you put Heavy Fighters on the Raptor also, or just regulars?
Shih, Ares,..all heavy S fighters on my video. Do you mean M corvettes or frigates, yes you can, but Raptor only has 1x landing platform, it takes a while to start/land.
Boosting is a good idea IFF the ship can regen the shields really fast, so they're back at around full shields before they swing back to engage. For M ships, mmm... Something like a Gorgon with modded +shield recharge rate (using argon shields I guess) regens shields pretty fast, but I think it makes more sense for small ships like the Kalis with 4 shield gens.
Yes, this is why i like S ships so much.❤ The fast shield regen can be such a nice advantage in fights, if used correctly.

Don’t think it’s a good idea to use mk3. Better to switch weapon loadout
I had these Mk4, so i used them for the video. But SPL Mk3 engines are nearly as good, and need way less material. The weapon loadout is my "allround" set for S,M,L,XL. Normaly i use 30x of them, and have barely lost any against single K or I❤. Shih is a good H.fighter as long as they stay <40km with the fleet, they are too slow, and can get caught when they fly back. Chimera is a better Vanguard H.fighter😊
Looks like you got hit by the targeting bug. Xenon turrets didn't seem to be working during the first half of the video. I've been struggling with that too.

Wich Mods do you mean? The game is vanilla. The ship uses SLINGSHOT as engine mod

Paranid plasmas are objectively the best, cant be argued, argons are nearly as good but can be made in closed loop.
I agree with you, but i think PAR's are made to damage stations in the first line.
Whats with Split-Plasma? The highest dps i mean. Shorter range i know ^^
They look and do great, but the range sucks. Once upone i had them on my Raptor. I tried a Raptor only game, but the destruction of stations took soo long, i skipped this idea🤪 and took 10x destroyers with PAR with me. For Station destruction you need a long range, the PAR is ideal because the dpm loss is not so relevant on not moving targets when you miss a shot, and it has the fastest projectile speed.

For me - argon L plasma is preferable. If you destroy k"s engines - bigger damage is better! And distance is still great, compare to split plasma
PAR also has way less ROF, every missed shots costs a lot of DPM..
@@egoaut Par is more likely to hit, it travels 132 m/s faster and is perfectly accurate.
This is true PAR has the fastest projectile speed, but in my opinion the "feeling" with ARG/TEL plasmas is better when you fly a destroyer by yourself, as long as you do not need to chase a K, then you feel the slower speed🤓 I know PAR has the better stats, but i feel safer with a higher ROF. Travelspeed and tracking speed is not soooo relevant, its still slow L plasma turret.
for me it will be Paranid, range and burst dmg is still the selling point!
Yes the stats look way more better. SPL ones should have +25% more dmg or at least speed, and they look huge. TEL & ARG look good while ARG have much more tracking. So TEL should have much more HP.

@@ivantorrent495, KI can not handle them. As playership with SPL turrets it looks way better. But compared with PAR they lack on dmg, i mean the difference is not that high but PAR can shoot while SPL is out of range, if you know what i mean. I think they will get slaughterd by S & M's, 2x flak turrets are to weak they have no burst projection on the enemy. M's are good interceptors but bad in the bombard role🥴

So much potential for scale in this game. I truly pray for egosoft to add battleships, or perhaps the dreadnoughts of old.
I am not sure, the old versions had too much turrets and kind of no shields (X-X3 BalaGi). Witch dreadnoughts do you mean? Asgard and Erlking are OP enough (my opinion). I would like a kind of Astrid designed as X3 Yacht with at least one S hangar🤗

@@Ronolein die Raketen wirst du aber nur an deinen Stationen auffüllen können. Ich hoffe man kann die, wie alle anderen Raketen, nur aus Energiezellen fertigen wenn man auf den geschlossenen Kreislauf (closed Loop) geht.

@@egoaut The combination of both. The color looks alright on flatter ships, and the ship looks good in it's original paintjob, but the ship and the paintjob combined, yeah that's just horrible. I guess there was a reason why Boron did not let you paint their ships back in X3

Its not pink its violett 🙏Normaly its bicolor violett/yellow, but lazy Egosoft painted all DLC (and the new) only violett😤 You only get this paint when you finish the yaki plot and clear the Xenon sectors around them. I still hope they will correct this. When you know my videos you see grey/violett/yellow ship paints - this is how they should look like. Thanks for your suggestions. I'm not a great speaker and I almost only make videos where the AI does everything - so just watch, listen to the music and enjoy. Comments and descriptions of the video can usually be found in the video description, or are self-explanatory as video titles. I also rarely make video comments in the form of text or let Google Translate do the talking for me ;)

Yes, i love the I's.🤪 The look and sound of these giants is phenomenal. Once upon i tried to fly with my space-suit on a sight seeing tour around an I, it was a great experience to get a feeling of its huge dimensions.😁

i usally only fight Ks with a 5 to 1 odd in my favor. Also in practice flying a fighter around an I and then dropping laser towers to distract the I's L turrets are a great idea
I normaly use S fighters against K&I. But to show the capabilitys of L's, i used 4x in these 3 test videos. 5x would be too much, i want to see them fail to see the differences better.

AI learned to keep distance, and these Xenons maybe did not have full turrets? All 3 videos (Sapporo, Phoenix E, Behemoth E) have the same save to start with, if you looked them xou know these Xenon can shoot😊. In that save i have a lot of Xenon in "The Void" roaming around. This was one of the Xenon doomsday fleet there.
Most underated destroyer in the game imo, excellent turret arcs, above average speed, mobility, shields, excellent main gun accuracy and convergence all while being fairly cheap.

Well, one of the destroyers had to be the worst of the bunch - that's the nature of any comparisons - weakest main gun battery of them all - fewest turrets (tied with the Behemoth), especially when it comes to L turrets - when using TEL equipment, it's hampered even more - TEL shields give it more tankiness, but TEL turrets make it harder for it to fight back, and TEL engine hinders its cruise speed in combat and the ability to break away - and to add insult to injury, it is more expensive than Odysseus E (which outguns it by far, but is squishier) and Behemoth E (which can outgun it if using the S carrying capacity and is just as tanky) and even the Boron Ray (outguns and outtanks it), so it is not that cheap at all It does not help that for many, the majority of encounters with a Phoenix E would be when Scale Plate Pact gets naughty - and those are under-equipped and very easy to disable, board, take over and then strip & sell. It's still a destroyer, so it can be useful if properly kitted out and utilised - but not a very good one. It's better than the old Phoenix Vanguard/Sentinel, at least, as they were both slower and had problems bringing the L turrets to bear at a target directly in front of them...

Give Phoenix E a chance. It is one of the best destroyers, let me explain. In my latest game i captured a lot of the normal Phoenix and Behemoth (not E) for free from PGS. I had a large fleet of them, and reconquered sectors from the Xenon. Behemoths sucked compared to Phoenix, curious? They are great in bombarding stations because of the maingun range. But the best is, they are hard to hit when flanking K,I's. The X target the middle of the Phoenix, and there is a lot of space w/o structure. And those 3 engines are also hard to destroy, while the M turrets on the mushroom do a good job. The same with the Phoenix E❤ A little bit bigger, but faster, and better L arcs. Compared to the Odysseus E (and Behemoth E), the Phoenix E is smaller and much harder to hit. I am realy very impressed.

@@egoaut yeah thats what i also realised, it might have to do with the 183m/s max speed they can reach which seems to be the sweet spot for the AI to be good when firing and running away

Für Schiffe die sehr sehr schnell fliegen , kommt die warnung in dem moment des aufschlags. Leider sind Alle Objekte die im hintergrund sind nicht direkt befliegbar und werden Als planeten behandelt. Interresat ist es aber Weiterhin. Ah, the Holy Grail Xenon Hub. The main benefit could be experienced in X3: :Spoiler please read over: the Terrafomer Hub also called Xenon Hub, in the Communuty called Holy Grail has the function of a stargate relay station. The hub had 2 or 3 gate pairs available, don't quite remember. So you could use the station inside to reroute gate pairs across the hub and create shortcuts across the hub. tbf i wouldve used a fleet of like 10 destroyers even before i attempt a I-class nad would only take on a K without me shooting out the turrets when there is at least a fleet of 4 destroyers. im actually surprised that the 4 sapporos survived that long.
in practice less than 100 heavy barrage missiles on a saporro can take down a K
My goal is to use only small numbers of ships to show their abilitys. Yes, they did a good work and its my bad that they had not enough heavy missiles🤫. Main problem was the broken formation, 2x Sapporo did fight the first K while the others take too long to show up. So they lost too much missiles and time to save the first doomed Sapporo.

When i got first Sapporo from Mists of Artemis this ship managed to destroy a lot of xenon's fighters even with heavy barrage missiles (very good vs swarm). IMHO you want use only heavy barrage missiles on Sapporo.

Things I take from this: - the total calmness from the pilots of destroyers that take dmg from graviton turrets..."Hey, captain. Should we try to get some distance from that thing that fire those red balls of death at us? Neah, it will be fine...🤪" - there truly is no substitute for L plasma turrets in player capital vs xenon capital duels. - the problem with missile turrets (in this case main battery that fire missiles) in X4, is that they exhaust the ammo really quick. The only way to use them effectively is with that "infinite missiles" modd, but in vanilla, zero chance Thank you for the test. About everything I saw, reinforce my decision to skip Timelines, can't find a single selling point that would appeal to me. 🤔
Odachi from Timelines is a very very nice M ship❤, i love it. Also the Shuttle😊 Sapporo is a nice Playership, but not powerful in AI hands. I mixed in this video 50:50% (230:230) light and heavy missiles, my bad. But its 80km radar range is unique, travel speed is ok, but 160m/s sucks😢. I will test it as fleetleader, i think it could be great for the subs, or at least as miner guard vs Khaak. Stay tuned, i did the same scenario with Behemoth E and Phoenix E (mixed tech). One of them did a real great job😮

@@egoautsapporo is literally a command ship. It will send its subordinate units to any target that matches its mission within its radar range. Give it one carrier, that carrier has the usual setup of interceptors, attack bombers and bombardment destroyers subordinated to the carrier. Have the carrier attack for the sapporo. The sapporo will send it out and the carrier will in turn deploey its own forces according to plan.
