    I enjoyed watching them until i saw what they were doing to my foundation & front step concret pad. Jawz is what I found at my hardware store. They havent't worked without a dab of peanut butter, but with it they're effective. They (Jawz) easily release the way shown here although they're a touch harder to reset. I put a plastic bag over my hand, release into another bag & after baiting it I step on it to set it. I don't like being a killer, yet I need to take care of my biggest investment. 🙄🫤

They dig holes and horses trip and break legs in the holes, so look at them like you do a mouse or rat. They are a pest-poisoning them can cause issues with scavengers finding the dead poisoned chipmunk and then they die too😩! Good luck and thanks for looking at my video!!!

    • @RickWolf
      @RickWolf Год назад

      I attached it on the bottom of the feeder (I used a screw and crimped the wire of the slinky under the screw head) and the feeder pole is a little less in diameter than the pipe I have attached to the feeder. It allows me to simply lift the feeder up to remove it-I don’t have the actual feeder fastened to the mounting pole.

  • @chrislapp9468
    @chrislapp9468 Год назад

    The feeder is too low. Attach a plastic road cone like the DPW uses. The pole might fit inside the hole in the top. Install a stop on the pole to hang it from. Cut the base off the cone. Pop rivet aliminum flashing to the bottom, cuz they will chew the plastic off.

    • @RickWolf
      @RickWolf 2 года назад

      I’m not familiar with that product?! As long as you have a wood siding (and the age of your home leads me to believe it is) the Durham’s Wood putty will work. Be sure to clean out any loose or rotten wood. Slightly dampen the edges of the hole so putty will have time to bond to the old siding (like concrete patching, you need to moisten the area to be patched or the old dry surface will pull too much moisture from the patch material and will not bond to the area). Be sure to just make a very small amount of patch material so you can get an idea of how it mixes-what consistency of patch trowels best for you, and how long before it begins to set up?! Good luck!

      They scurry about and always race along some boarder. They don’t always look where they are going-just are trying to keep the wall or whatever is on their side. The only time they ever get up there is if I forget to re-apply it for, say, 6 Mos. The great thing is, they don't constantly test it like with these other devices. It's only when a young squirrel comes along and tries it when I haven't re-applied it for awhile. 5 mins later I'm good for another few Mos.

    They can just jimp right up to the feeder. They do it all the time.

    I solved my problem with the poison peanuts and worms for moles. Was digging holes in my new Zeon Zoysia sod, went to war!!

      I know those poison items work. I hate to recommend them, because sometimes birds-cats-dogs will get into them, unintentionally.

      100% of the time raptors are eating those poisoned rodents and becoming poisoned themselves, it's a terrible way for them to die as well

      @@laceysnow4048 I appreciate your comment and agree, those poisons go directly up the food chain. The adult birds even take the dead rodents up to their nests and feed their babies. Tough detective work trying to find the "least" harmful and yet still effective.

    Thank you Rick, I tried the better mousetrap and it works within 20 minutes. At least I got the first one that looked me straight in the eye from out of the whole this morning.
