Velocty Systems Gen IV: Not customizeable, just how I like it!
The cool thing about kydex is all it takes to make something is a mild oven/heating element, a $10-20 sheet of plastic, and a vacuum table. And then for post processing you have a couple holes to drill, which if you were smart you would have dimples in the mold you formed to or a jig, and that's about it. Maybe a bandsaw and a buffing wheel for the edges. The other thing I like is when you get the basic thing with the standard options and they claim it's "custom made" and so therefore you're expected to spend $90 on something that might just be a piece of shit. So the margins are generally large for anything over ~30-40 and they claim that they make quality product but won't back that with any kind of refund, especially on bog standard parts.
Thanks for the insight and couldn't agree more! Im suprised it cost that much, for me I compare it to a watch where a fairly complicated automatic movement can still only cost about 6 or 7 cents landed from china and thats not including quartz movements. So when comparing that to some kydex I have to assume the margins are ludicrous.
@@ArmadilloArmament The only other thing that would create cost is the molds they may or may not use. Bad kydex will just suck down around the actual item for a "custom" fit that never feels good. But the molds only need to be mildly heat resistant, the official Kydex spec sheet shows around 350F. I really hope they're not using expensive aluminum when there's foam that will handle that and is cheaper to purchase and machine. And it doesn't even really need to be that fine of a machine pass. It shouldn't be that expensive for a mold. Or they could machine wax in negative and cast into it and get a positive. Either way, a bit BS to pass that cost off to the customer at the scale they typically charge. If you haven't you can just look up the process on YT, it's really basic. I'm fine obviously paying for labor, cost, and a bit of profit (though that's mainly what the labor is) but even still, they're taking a $10 sheet of plastic, sticking it in the oven for ~1min and then vacuum forming it to a mold with at *most* 30 minutes of post processing and then selling it for $90 with no guarantee. Just looking up how to make kydex a short from 945 industries popped up showing the entire process in about 30 seconds.
@ I’ll look into all that, that sounds pretty interesting. Why did you become so knowledgeable on the subject? Just curiosity?
@@ArmadilloArmament How it's Made is a good show. But I've also done molding and minor vacuum forming, it's quick and easy.
They should make these safer This is a carryover from their competition days There is no excuse Being a 100% disabled veteran with balance issues I have to take a pass on the staccato particularly for carry as I cannot take that chance And I really wanted a cs or the new c If you have any updates I would appreciate hearing it ✌️🇺🇸
Thank you for the insight into this company. I was just about to recommend this to my best friend, who is a lot like you and obsessed with 1911's, but I won't now!
Recently got one in 1 moa, this vid helped with my decision making. Really loving it so far.
@@henryliu1046 Glad you like it!
Your radio where can you put it?? On your left pocket??
@@Nezlaaaay I have it on my cummerbund pouch.
Not a chance in hell I have bought two both were shit, star bursted 1 moa dot, wouldn’t hold zero 😂 how you can even say that when the aimpoint acro and SRO exist is wild
I love my acro and SRO, This EPS has been an absolute tank for me so far though.
@ what!!!!! Really !?
@@ViolentbyDesign Ill have an Acro review soon, same with a 507 comp. I love all of them with so far with the only dot ive hated being the delta point pro. The EPS has been extremely rugged so far though. Nothing wrong with liking your optics though and I implore you to continue using whats been working on your end friend.
@ well I am in a predicament because my slide is cut for the EPS and the last one was junk so no it’s either 1. I get a new EPS 2. I get a new slide and new RDS 3. I re cut my slide for another optic.. the cheapest thing to do would be for me to get a new EPS but I have hate against them because I got broken one out of the box. So you would be confident enough in them that I should give it another shot and buy another ?
@@ViolentbyDesign The 407k might be interesting as its not an enclosed optic. All manufacturers are having beginner issues with their enclosed optics. Acro's sometimes fog, same with steiner and absolutely holosun. Mine hasnt had the issue at all but if you're worried about it the 407k is open and I havent noticed the issue. I had a 407k offset on my MCX for a bit and that thing went through a beating. My buddy also has it on his FN reflect with 0 issues. My EPS has been great and I would trust it for now but you may want to try that 407k. It also goes without saying, if holosun gives or gave you a bad dot, their warranty is amazing and they will do right. If none of that is appealing contact wager machine and he can remill your slide for usually under $100.
bonk
Primary machine cut both of my USP45 Tacticals for an RMR. Super deep cut and allows me to cowitness with standard height sights. And cut is tight enough where the sight is taken off for battery change and the rounds still land in the X ring at 25 yards. Couldn’t be happier. Roughly $250 and great reputation with the company. Nitride rather than cerokote which is always a big win.
Yep, ive been looking at Impact Machine and Dual Hammer Industries for the cut. Ill take a look at Primary Machine!
Feel free to email me pictures of your setups if you'd like! Im for sure interested in doing something similar.
You need to buy the extended magazine release from the HK45C
Agreed
Not as easy to shoot as a Glock with a comp - but can still be done extremely well and in my experience has a much higher degree of both reliability and durability.
Absolutely, its definitely an apples to oranges kind of thing where the Roland Special or a 2011 is meant to go fast, But the USP with no modifications is damn near indestructible and a power house of a duty weapon.
so let me get this straight.... you ordered the holster which has two separate clips that also go over the belt.... then install a monoblock and complain about it. sounds like you should have just not ordered the monoblock which has to be done SEPARATELY.
Both versions suck.
Yes
Dude the gun rebounding is so real for me. I went back to the 365 but I picked up the xl because I wanted a little more size, then I bought the xmacro grip so I can carry basically a full size but not buy a new gun. But honestly now the barrel is too uncomfortable and now I have been thinking about having a smaller 43. I think it’s okay for us all to admit we just want more guns always. 😂
My Dan Wesson didn’t function until I had Puff Daddy put some d oil on it
do you find you experience a forward pull with the dovetail extension on the rnvg when stowed up or does your counterweight negate it?
@@henryliu1046 Good question. No. I run a high cut ach and my setup is fairly heavy and I have a good amount of lead weights and batteries in the back. The extension extends out a few millimeters but doesn’t add too much for it to be noticeable. Personally, I think the rnvg is damn near useless without it. On the topic of weight really quick, I think people care way too much and it’s irrelevant unless you’re wearing it operationally for 24 hours straight. I’ve used many different bumps and ballistics and I hardly notice a difference. Happy to answer any other questions you have and should probably make a video discussing this.
@@ArmadilloArmament thanks for the fast reply. I dont think its weight so much that people overexagerate so much as it is the benefit of articulating goggles stowing closer to the helmet or being in a "deployed" but stowed up position that makes them more ergonomic than a stowed fixed bridge housing. As while the standoff is not significantly more, it does create more leverage. Im glad to hear that sufficient counterweights and what not help because Im looking into the rnvg vg v2 now that the gain control is a rheostat, and dont see a need for articulation but still trying to see if fixed bridge is for me.
@ as someone that has used bridged pvs 14s and pvs 31s I really don’t care about articulation. I can throw down my rnvgs in 2 seconds with one hand and they are always in the best position. I also don’t notice a huge difference in articulation when stowed. If articulation was free I guess I’d take it but rnvg’s are genuinely the best price to performance binos and I don’t plan on upgrading anytime soon to features I don’t care for.
Beautiful side pice
This was a shit show. You got a lemon .
It’s my shittin pistol. magnetic on the wall right next to the toilet paper.
What’s that beavertail on your P226? It looks like it was added on.
@@martonsanto great eye. It was a 3d printed piece I got for super cheap on eBay or something. Highly recommended even if I wish it were a little different.
Are you confident your frame is warped?
@@Krungulon7 it’s hard to know for sure as I don’t have a second one but the magwells no longer fit and my buddy’s doesnt fit either so I’m fairly confident these warp your frames pretty easily.
1911 45. ❤❤❤ If it's not broke don't fix it. Tried and true. Always go home ...
I’m simple, cheap and easy to please. Mostly stock Glock 45 with a 508t. Nothing crazy but I feel I can put faith in it should I ever need it. Plus it’s my only other handgun besides my j-frame. Both are dead nuts dependable.
Cool optic
What’s the name?
I enjoyed the vid, but why do you speak with fake vocal fry? Lmao
I regret to inform you that's just my voice homie.
I love my mepc but I have had two issues with the quality of the sewing from the company. 1st I bought a tourniquet pouch and they had sewn the hook backwards, but they resolved this issue quickly by sending out a new one. The second issues was the elastic cummerbund torn with use during the tactical games and after some back and forth they decided to replace it. All in all I was disappointed with the quality but love the fit and modularity.
Thanks for the heads up. Glad they took care of you which is what I care about most but ill keep in mind that certain things tore for you.
Beautiful weapon
Stay tuned for a review on the eps carry, and the new radian ramjet for the 43x.
Gotta strongly disagree about the bushing system. Lose a screw (it happens) and the grip stays in place and can still be fired. Lose a screw without the bushing, and the grip spins out of place; try shooting THAT.
@@ahhamartin you’re not wrong, that’s a good point. I just hate how I’ve broken so many of them. It definitely exists for a reason.
So free knowledge if you didn’t already know got to academy and get athletic tape. Same shit you used in baseball and football. Unless you’re getting the camo goon tape it’s a waste of cash and cash is freedom seeds! Happy shooting guys believe it’s $20 for 6 rolls
It’s got its uses. Helps when hands are sweaty and comes off ok without a LOT of residue.
I prefer the more compact compensators that are still very effective. Agency Arms Sage Comp is my favorite but feels the same as the radian afterburner/ramjet
KKM comps are definitely the most aggressive but I really like the interface of the Sage comp. Sage Dynamics is one my my favorite channels and id love to grab some of his products.
Grip tape and RMR make all the difference. Watching you shoot, your grip isn’t tight enough for control. Getting the sandpaper grip tape would degrease the amount of pressure needed to control the gun correctly. Just my .02. Good luck
I believe the USP does have a bit more recoil than say a Glock 17.
@@andershilmo1866 absolutely
What's cringe about the name?
Excellent question, go google "Gooning".
Edgy term in the name for customers to feel cool.
@@ArmadilloArmament I think it refers less to that than it does to the hockey term goon, which is the on ice enforcer. I mean, it is just slightly more fancy hockey tape after all.
@@DarkPhoenixTSi You're probably not wrong. The word Goon has become synonymous with a lot of night vision products and companies as well. I just think its a little cliche and overused.
@@ArmadilloArmament I am definitely aware of the whole "moon's out, goons out" subset of the culture. Maybe I was just thinking less wannabe edgelord and more enforcer gonna bruise the face of the guy who laid a dirty hit on one of their forwards.
Hey Mate I’m currently rocking the High Speed Gear outer belt with the molle, it’s not bad but it slides a lot and bounces as I run. Any experience with the HGSI belt pads and if so, how does the Trex Arms version compare? Cheers in advance
Even if you knew what you are talking about, which is obviously not the case, please loose the F bombs and go back to Airsoft.
grand thumb dropped a nighthawk custom and it went off. I dont think the tighter tolerance argument holds weight as it is just a part of the inherit design of 70 series handguns. That being said im still waiting on my staccato XC and will probably take that route of changing springs and firing pins.
I wish I had all of those
Don’t do it, they are not a Wilson Combat!!
@@rickflare6736 Wilson’s may not look the flashiest or have some of the features im looking for but they make a damn fine duty gun.
@@ArmadilloArmament Yes Sir, I agree.
HK, then the 1911, its a straight tool box.💯🎯

DUDE! YES! Even if you're ranting nothing you said is invalid - It's like they saw that gun guys will buy anything so they just went for it - but like dude I'm an ordinary guy, I'm not able to just pour all my money into this cuz it aint my hobby, and I was shocked because as I'm implementing EDC into my life I'm feeling like they're holding me ransom with prices - they're like "yeah well your life depends on it" and I can't help but think like *yeah exactly* why is the thing we need to protect ourselves those around us made inaccessible?! We need more people carrying, not less! I just got a Glock 42 and Glock 19, I'm out like $1K (worth it ofc) - now we need to spend hundreds to break in our guns, some defense ammo boxes to test if it will cycle & shoot, buy a safe, cleaning kits, targets & range fees, LTC class, - and we can't have the peace of mind that we can get a reasonably priced holster so we can actually *carry* the thing? LOL Like - hello?! Don't put a tax on protecting ourselves! I recently discovered Tacticon Armament and dude I'm crazy impressed! For $30 they sent a holster that fits my gun, a wing/claw, a mag carrier, and foam wedge all together!!!! I only went on Amazon to get the holster so when I got the goodies I was shocked LOL - can you do a review on their stuff? I'm extremely impressed and it's got excellent security, safety and concealability and the value is absolutely what we should be asking for - I'm gonna replace the clip when I get around to it but it's still more than adequate for EDC - would love a review from someone with the experience
Thanks for the kind words and glad you agree! Great choices on guns and maybe ill have to take a look at that company!
Very cool. Thanks for posting this up
I had a lot of problems with my Specialist too (45acp). It’s one of the newer optic-ready models. My mag well loosened, optic plate screws backed out, slide often fails to lock back and too many failure to feed malfunctions for me to feel safe. Even slingshotting vs dropping the slide chambering the first round would fail sometimes. I kept that thing squeaky clean and lubed and the problems persisted well after 1,000 rounds. The most alarming issue was the slide catch itself. In the chance that a given magazine (DW, Ruger, and WC) would actually lock the slide back, the catch only engaged the slide notch a few millimeters. It wasn’t even close to fully seated in the slot unless it was with the Ruger mags. Was fun to shoot when it worked.
That is absolutely insane that a gun that costs as much as it does had those issues. This comment and a few others in this thread really hit the nail on the head that its not a single issue, its multiple issues resulted from poor qc or design. Im glad people like their DW's but my experience and yours as well as many others completely make me not trust the brand. Also, sage dynamics had a ton of issues with his as well and hes a very trusted reviewer. Thanks for sharing and hopefully you can get a more worthy gun.
I've got three Dan Wesson's that work flawlessly
@@alrossi1641 good to hear!
So you gave the gun to someone else for 1900 that had an issue this is what the problem is buying used firearms.
@@alrossi1641 it went to a friend of mine at my local store that was aware of the issues. He had their Kodiak and liked Dan Wesson.
I highly suggest going with the Wright armory I dot system for your usp45 tactical
Looks fantastic, Thanks for the suggestion.
@ArmadilloArmament I also run a custom edc holster from next level (really good dude btw) the light has s decent amount of wear on it but it's so just surface level wear. My concern with the utl is actually the tiny battery leads inside. Sometimes thru just don't work. But the aesthetics are peak counter terrorism in the 90s.
@@ArmadilloArmamentI would go with primary machine instead. You can cowitness with regular height sights. No plate needed. Wright uses plates for consistency since they are needed for the smaller calibers due to less metal on the slide.
It’s funny how people see a review for another 1911 and see one failure occurrence and say SEE THATS WHY IM GLAD I BAUGHT A DAN WESSON INSTEAD! But when someone gives a very detailed testimonial covering all the bases about how they had a bad experience with their Dan Wesson, then people say DUDE YOU HAVE TO BREAK IT IN, DUDE YOU ONLY TRIED ONE YOU MUST HAVE GOTTEN A RARE LEMON, DUDE I HAVE 2 DAN WESSONS AND THEY HAVE NEVER HAD A SINGLE MALFUNCTION, I TRUST MY LIFE ON DAN WESSON!!!!! I think for self defense the Dan Wesson is not something I would rely on. Too tight. And if you have to fire over 500 rounds to make it reliable and after that ensure that it’s lubricated and babied weekly, then it’s not fit for true life or death spontaneous scenarios. Plain and simple. I think it’s a company that has a blind cultish following and looks down upon its customers as if it’s something much higher class than it is. If you want a good boutique or range 1911 that’s great quality AFTER a strenuous break in period and you have the luxury or babying it regularly, then it’s probably the best for the price. If you want a good quality reliable 1911 that’s made for more tactical and heavy duty situations with less maintenance, then something else from Colt or Springfield or even Ruger is probably best. And don’t go on about MIM. It’s highly misunderstood.
Roland Deschain sends his regards
