On that shift knob, I added a metric nut under it and jammed it up to the knob until the 1-6R lined up. It was easy to swap out, I ruined the cap lock nut and found a metric one at ACE hardware store for .18 cents. Those plastic swivel knobs I used a crescent wrench like you did over a vise and used a punch to knock the metal shifter down and off. Going back, laid a wooden board and used a rubber mallet to hit the metal driving the plastic knob in place. Took me longer to clean up the mess that was under the console. Uck. The leather shifter sock was rotted bad, found a synthetic one at AutoZone for $14 that fit right using the two wire retainers. Like you, don’t desire to do another one.

That's awesome, I bought a new 04 manual gt. After I lost my red auto 04 gt in an accident. And this one has no fog lights which sucks. This is super helpful! Tho I'm kind of considering installing some kind of really bright LEDs. Tho I don't know how that would work. Either way super helpful!

The question is, if Toyota makes belts out of hard plastic that can easily wear out, why don't they make it easier to change the belt? It's a lot of work and waste of material just for damage to the belt.

where do u live man i need my door lock actuators replaced too i'm not good at tearing up the car and doing these things lols..i am probably gonna get a pro to fix it lols. some times the passenger locks and unlocked when it wants too... and the driver side is completely dead and useless, so i would lock it with my hands manually lols.. hate it been years man lols its 2024 and had this celica since 2012.. so i love to update it and have it working again lol, just bought the parts for both doors so i gonna have to find a pro to fix it now lols tired of manually locking it with my hands for years now lols will update whenever i find a shop who can replace my new acuators.

Those are cheap bolts on the top, use the oem ones. They are rust resistant. REAR - you guys skipped how a pita it is to put the sway bar links back in? where's that? you didn't show how you pry it downwards to push it back in and retighten it (i used a 3 foot 2x4).. also the knuckles have a metal sleeve. if that sleeve moves the upper control arm wont fit. get a hammer and hit it flush and then it goes down and tightens......
