That's awesome. Voice actors really are the lifeblood of a show, so replacing them is sometimes tricky.

@@majinya6199 Well, then I've got good news for you, because this set also includes the Japanese voice tracks with subs as well. As to how accurate they are, I have no way of knowing until I can have a listen myself.

@@randdurand I would need to import them since I don't live in the US, But yeah these sets look like they're gonna live up to the hype and if they do well then the series and rest of the classic movies.

@majinya6199 Same here. Region coding might or might not be an issue as well. It says both Japan and America are region A for bluray, but I use a PS3, so I don't know if there's any additional region restrictions, since I've never tried a US disc on my console. Edit: Just looked it up. It should play just fine.

I dunno, but I might have somewhat of an issue getting it since I'm not in the states and would have to pay for international shipping. 🫤

@@randdurand Oh, that's really sad since the movie I mentioned is a direct sequel and the actual ending to Diaboromon's story... but nevertheless this release is already amazing enough.

Those would have been awesome as well! I actually thought they should have taken the movie in a different direction with a different ending, but I'll save that for another video.

It's not perfect, but it's a really fun couple of hours! I think you'd enjoy the villain. He's pretty entertaining.

Could be a case of having to go through the right channels of getting the dub licensed, since it was dubbed with the two tamers movies and frontier movie around 2005ish when Disney owned the digimon rights so perhaps thought it'd be better to release them together. A hypothetical third set could include the short Savers/Data Squad movie and X-Evolution

sadly that just isn't possible other than reusing the same movie audio track which they can do but they don't have access to the original audio recordings, Disney probably destroyed them.

It's really interesting how differently we see things as kids, huh? I remember being a big fan of the Beast Wars toys as a kid, but when I finally saw a part of the series, it was the scene where Rhinox fart-catapulted all the Predacons into a tree. Didn't know how to make sense of what I was seeing. Lol.

I always felt like Digimon was the younger brother to Pokemon who worked twice as hard, but never quite got the same recognition. Especially in the past 10 years, I think Pokemon has been able to coast on brand recognition more and more while allowing quality to slip.

Yes, they were even going to the trouble of announcing new voice actors for ones like Joe, Mimi, Greymon, MetalGreymon, Angemon, Seraphimon and Yolei just to name a few, most because their original voice actors have passed away, 1 is because he retired and the other is a mystery but allegedly it's because she was Saban's stepdaughter.

In Japan they do. Weird, huh?

Exactly what I thought! Hopefully the voice direction is good and the actors don't sound like they're phoning it in. If it's even close to sounding like the original dubs, it's a must-have.

​@@randdurand I mean I know Wayne has a nice range of voices considering he voiced 1 of the Ninja Turtles when 4Kids had the rights and Lance over in Pokemon but I don't think he can match the kind of voice Dave gave to Upamon

@@MattZRJSRoxy That's always kind of tricky when voice actors pass away, since everyone's voice is unique, and any newcomers are often compared to the originals. Guess we'll see if his take can be good in its own right.

Haha, that's blocked for me... One of the downsides of living in Japan, I guess. Here, the Japanese media companies are king, and they don't take too kindly to unauthorized use of their stuff in, well, any form.

The thing I really appreciated about Digimon is that the characters grew up with you. Pokemon was always about catering to the next, younger generation of fans, but Digimon at least awknowledged that it had older fans.

Cards are always nice. I remember that was one of the best things about going to see a Pokemon or Digimon movie was getting handed that promo card as you made your way in. Now, I don't even know if they do that sort of thing anymore.

@randdurand for the most recent release of Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning it came with a "Liberator Promo Pack" for the current Digimon TCG , and the Set of Ex7 just came out last week so now those cards are now in fashion. Just like back in the day when going to see movies getting a promo pack as a kid was always cool. I remember going to the The Yugioh Movie Pyramid of Light and getting wattapon lol.

Reprints of the ones you were supposed to get in theaters would be cool.

And give the option for a 2-Disc DVD set that had ALL of the Blu Ray features, Promo cards/art, AND poster (s) ! 🔥

@@randdurand , since Pokemon movies rarely get a USA theatrical release (after #4), one recent was Movie #20 "I Choose You" (2017) featuring Ho-Oh.🌈 AND.... 😊 they did give a free card of Pikachu wearing Ash's hat. ✅ Horrible reboot, but fun community experience with loyal O.G. fans who came to see Ho-Oh (however underwhelming 😒) and then that Pikachu twist had everyone in unison yell "WHAT THE F#<%?!" It was a bit embarrassing and sad... thinking about how epic the movie plots used to be. Truly cinematic- and the ART style (in movies 1-5) my goodness.

If there's one thing I really like about the dub version, it's the amount of jokes and clever one-liners they snuck into the script. "Did you see that? No, I was sleeping. But you're driving!" Lives rent-free in my head to this day. Oh, and who could forget the beef jerky shakes?

Yeah, that really was the golden era of Saturday morning cartoons, across the board. And you'd have stuff like Kids WB doing crossover clips between the characters of different shows in their lineup during commercial break.
