I actually like that girl in the beginning. When your country is top in almost every list, you do not need to rely on past glories, propaganda or to be told that you are from "the greatest nation in the world" to be prevented from leaving or at least from cutting ties with that country. Most people who are overly proud of certain things about their home country tend to be losers who feel the need to be a part of something greater beacuse they are unsatisfied with what they are.

Pros: very clean, very green/eco friendly, great public transit, good food. Cons: it gets very very humid, everything is over priced, restrictive laws, large crowds of tourists can make it uncomfortable.

The biggest con, for a foreigner, in Singapore is easily the difficulty of attaining a PR/citizenship. If not you have to pay 60% stamp duty on freehold property. Good luck to any new foreigner coming to Singapore as that is a big restriction, and unless you have a PR, if you lose your job, you have little time to find a new job as the government will throw you out. Of course PR/citizenship also provides cheap rates for childcare costs and medical costs. Despite this, there are not many big negatives for foreigners in my opinion :)
